  1. @AlienX: Hey man... Please wait a little longer with the light fix. I think I found a plugin that it fixes! @Everbody: The 1.2 Anvil update brought us a nasty lighting bug: The Phantom Lightin Bug. In large spaces, it's possible that you'll find yourself in a room full of daylight while it is supposed to be (almost) pitch black. It seems to do this more frequently in Multiplayer then in Single Player I found out and I hate it. I've started using the Bukkit plugin NoLagg, originally to reduce lag. On the plugin page there is also a light fix mentioned. I thought: "This can't be the fix for Phantom lighting... It just has to be something else." But since I use this plugin, I didn't see any Phantom lighting happening anymore on my server so far... I've tried to logout and log back in serveral times in very large caverns, nothing... No Phantom lighting. I'm very pleased, but like to see it tested just a little bit more under the Tekkit users. That's why I ask you guys to test this plugin for yourself and let it know if it works or not! It could be a benefit for everyone of us. You'll find the plugin here: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/fix-admn-nolagg-v1-84-prevent-common-lag-causes-on-your-server-2169.36986/ The author of the plugin recommends to use another plugin for entity spawn limits as the one in this plugin causes lag instead of preventing it. It IS enabled by default, so just turn it off that function completly in the config.yml and you'd be fine. I also recommend turning off itembuffer. Hopefully this was helpful. At your service... EDIT: Also, disable bufferedLoader! I found the Computercraft monitor facing the wrong way twice since I installed the plugin. I've just disabled that loader and restarted my server. The monitor was facing the right way again, so I think that was the problem. ;)
  2. That would be so awesome, because I see that light bug happen too frequently. It's annoying if you try to make/keep something dark! Take all the time you need, I'm not in a hurry. Nobody should, because you don't have to do this for us and still you do. That is a thing I really appreciate here. Diamonds for you. @Norman: All fixes work, YOU are doing something wrong...
  3. It does work with ModloaderMP, so I actually don't expect this in a future Tekkit unless they get rid of that and start using Forge properly.
  4. I've somethind to test for you... Try putting a Tunnel bore on the tracks. In 2.1.1 I tested a minecart plugin (not sure if it was this one) and that one crashed my client when I did put a tunnel bore on the tracks. After that, I couln't login until I removed the plugin. EDIT: I didn't remember what the plugin did when I wrote this reply. Now I remember. The main function why I tried the plugin I tested, was because it could hook minecarts together. In the new Tekkit, Railcraft itself does have this function now which is so cool! :D
  5. @johnny walker: I've 2 suggestions here... 1. Your host probably doesn't have Java 7 but Java 6. 2. Move your config folder and mod_ee.props out of the jar folder into the main folder. At least that's how it works on my server. That's probably why you got a block ID error. If the server doesn't find your config files, so it creates new ones with the default (and for Tekkit wrong) block ids.
  6. Now you mention it.... Yeah. Indeed I can't spawn things. Didn't even notice, because I'm in creative mode and I'm spawning most items from the middle section. Again, thx. for the fix then. EDIT: You know what would be totally awesome? It would be awesome if you could fix the Phantom lighting that 1.2.5 has. It's very annoying to have much light on places where it doesn't belong. I know there is a fix out there somewhere, but I also thinks that one doesn't work with Tekkit. EDIT 2: This is the fix I mentioned: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1143166-125-lights-outantifreeze-two-mods-to-fix-lighting-bugs/page__p__14054985 Unfortunally, this person fixed only the vanilla server. Not Bukkit. That's why I didnt try it.
  7. @AlienX: Awesome, thanks for your fixes. First WorldGuard, now NEI. Both I use very often, so I'm very pleased with it.
  8. Xiph3r: It's really something from your country indeed. For me, the video works fine. (I'm from the Nether(lands) :-P)
  9. I tested this plugin again yesterday, only this time with a building with also Redpower stuff in it like covers and cables. I've placed 22 Nukes in and around it and boom! No building anymore... It did recover everything, except for the cables and the covers of Redpower! So, beware of this! You better backup often! ;)
  10. Another pro, NEW in tekkit 3: You could connect minecarts with each other now and travel with them to be sure it will not unload the chunks around the carts, causing the carts to stop. You could also try this with the new Anchor cart. I don't know how well that will work yet since I haven't tried it yet.
  11. I wonder what happens with the Bukkit plugins after the merge. I don't like to see them go... Hopefully we could still use them then in some way, probably not.
  12. I just tested updating it to 2.8.3, because I forgot it earlier to do. Thanks for the reminder. Unfortunally, I can't help you with your problem, but I can tell you it works just fine here. I suggest to be more patient and don't click away the white screen. Wait a little longer. I don't know what your computer specs are, but keep in mind that Tekkit does have loads of mods and it could be loading slow indeed, depending on your specs. I had a shitty PC before and I had to wait for about a few minutes or so. (And I've had many crashes with my old PC. With my new PC (and new Tekkit) I had none so far)
  13. No idea... But why don't you just try some different situations? Should be fun. Or are you just the lazy type? Then you shouldn't play at all...
  14. It isn't too hard to create this yourself in creative mode, but I'll see what I can do. I've the time to play some, so let's build a technical house. But you'll get it as is... If you don't like the result I give you some later this day, don't complain and build something for yourself. EDIT: I've done the front by now. I decided to create a town hall and how it should look. I've only done the front of the first floor so far and the walls inside are mostly created with construction foam for 3 simple reasons: 1. Looks good (at least with Soartex Fanver Modded, I don't know about other textures), 2. You can repaint it in a different color, 3. You can hide BC cables in it. I've also decided that I'll do this to celebrate that I will be getting a new PC very soon (Probably today) and because it could be interesting for more people. Normally I wouldn't even replied to this. Keep that in your mind. It'll take some time to finish this, but believe me... It's worth waiting for. Anyway, here are 2 screenshots from the front and 1 of the inside and as you could see, there's some work to do there! The construction foam is a little bit to blame here, since it has to dry first. It slows down the building rate for me, but I don't care. Screen 1: http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/ISCAWorx/889cd300.jpg, Screen 2: http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/ISCAWorx/c1390f1f.jpg and screen 3: http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/ISCAWorx/426f099c.jpg It doesn't represent the final build in any way, but it should be enough to give you a teaser. I'll hope you like it. If you don't, i couldn't care less either because probably I'm going to use this building myself somewhere.
  15. Yeah.. You have to configure the Permissions to work. If all protections are on by default, you could do literally nothing anymore, because it's all protected. In PEX you have to create groups and set up the permissions you want for it. Maintaining a server isn't as easy as you probably think. You only didn't see that coming when you did setup your server, did you? Well, that's almost always the case with servers. No matter what they do, the configuration has always loads of options you've to go through if you wanna be serious. You can't just drag and drop shit and presume it will work fine immediately after that.
  16. I use just the newest one. (1.35). It is for 1.2.5, but it works just fine in Tekkit. Don't always believe the version numbers on Bukkit dev. Most plugins work fine on different Bukkit versions. It is not like a Minecraft mod, that doesn't work in any other version than the version it's made for.
  17. Hey. All I just can say that it rolled back in let's say 4 seconds on my server (flatfile) with 12 Nukes. That test does work almost perfect. The only thing it did wrong was plcing double doors and placing things like my generators and such the wrong way. Other than that, everything else was recovered. Even the glass fibre cable I had running through a construction foam wall. But it was the MySQL option what blows my server, seriously... It fucks it up real bad, like you can see in my screenshots. Fortunally, I don't think it will take a few hours like you said. Maybe on your server, not on mine if it takes just 4 secs to recover land blown up by 12 nukes, spread over a fairly large region. I'm glad to use this along with my usual frequently backups, anti-griefing plugins, ETC. It doesn't matter much with survival maps, but I like to create a creative and nice looking world and like to stay it that way. When you see videos from griefing groups on youtube, you know exactly why it is that important. P.S.: By the way, if your log is 800 MB/s a week, just delete it every week or so IF everything is alright ofcourse. It's just an idea not a solution, I know.
  18. I had no pipes in my setup, but I do have glass fibre cables and those were repaired. Yes sir! So I think the same goes for pipes.
  19. Well... I do know exactly what's going on here. If your world came from a 1.2.5 server, it will mean it is already converted to anvil! You can't convert anvil back to the old format BUT when the conversion from the old format to anvil happened (It's most likely that the 1.2.5 server did that), the old MCR files aren't removed. The client doesn't remove the old files, so the server doesn't as well. Tekkit only loads the old file format and you have those files still in your region map. That's the reason why you don't see your 1.2.5 content. It's loading the old files. Simple as that.
  20. Looks awesome. My test with Hawkeye didn't rollback everything. I'm gonna retry with this plugin now. The only thing is, I don't test with one lousy little nuke. I test with a bunch of them, spread over a few regions. (The badass way... ) If you wanna test something, do it over-the-top! Best way to test it imho. Thanks for the tip. I might as well post an update when I am done testing. UPDATE: So... Here is the update. It totally fucked up the server, trying to recover 12 Nukes. I really had fun with it, because I had still the possibility to fly around and take screen-shots. After that, I restarted the server to see if it did anything. The answer is sweet and simple: It did absolutely nothing AT ALL. I did the same test with HawkEye earlier and at least that plugin did recover about 40% of the damage and didn't fuck up the server so badly. Good, enough talk... Let's see why it's important not to completely rely on this kind of plug-ins. Rely on making backups often instead! This is the city before the hour of doom: http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/ISCAWorx/7f266c8f.png. It's a sweet Industrial city, full of mobs ATM... This is the same city after the detonation: http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/ISCAWorx/16b16c97.png. Some really serious griefing going on there! And the last pic shows how minecraft began to respond after I started the rollback process, which I repeat absolutely did nothing at all: http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/ISCAWorx/fd17d79b.png. That is just epic. Period. Well, it turns out that I'm still going to use HawkEye in combination with my automatic backup system. EDIT2: I was bored, so I thought I give it a second try. This time without MySQL database, because my first try was with. I placed 12 nukes again and this time it did something I really didn't expect! It DID work this time and placed everything back which totally amazes me because it had gone wrong so badly earlier! I checked MySQL, and it had many data in it, so the first time it did write it but I think it didn't receive correctly from the database. Well... I'm stunned, it did place back everything and made some errors with some of the doors and the machinery was facing the wrong way. Other than that, I think I'm gonna keep this one now. I just don't use the database anymore. It is maybe also the reason why HawkEye didn't rollback everything. I have to use an external db for it, because my host doesn't provide me one right now.
  21. @bitfed & ag25: Just put the 1.3.2 version from the link in the first post in modpack.jar instead of minecraft.jar. (Both are in the same folder). In modpack.jar is forge itself. If you dump the mod in minecraft.jar, it will try to execute the mod before it loads forge. That is your problem right there. I just tested it with my private server and it works just fine. Had no problems at all while testing it.
