How do I install zombe's modpack on Tekkit
Iscamania replied to Kynrasian's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Actually, flying is optional. I use zombe's pack and in the readme you can see that flying is a optional file. (I have it enabled though... No-Clip does also work if you install the optional Bukkit plugin that exists. Works perfect for my server.) -
1) Yes... Because it has new functions and such. Both client and server version needs to be synchronized to get something like that to work. 2) Indeed, but don't forget to remove the old zip file. You'll need also to make a backup of your railcraft config file, remove it and let minecraft generate a new one. This will probably give you a block ID error. That's why you have a backup. Just copy over the Block and Item IDs from the backup and also check in the new file for new blocks if any. (Idk.) Could be that you also have to change the block ids for that. 3) There is a dev build for the client only. Don't use it and just wait patiently for version 3.1.0 or up to come out. Don't ask for ETA's BTW, it's not allowed. Moderators of this forum hate it and will punish you if you don't look out. ;)

Nope, no suggestions. You don't even show us the error. How are we supposed to help you without the needed info?
-
You got to love the Google translation of his second post Google Translation: Anyway, AFAIK he does mean that when he eats something in SMP, nothing happens. The hunger bar doesn't go up, etc... Unfortunally, I can't help. Maybe someone else.

Installing Sphax PureBDCraft for Tekkit?
Iscamania replied to xpygmy's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Shit man, it is easy because even my grandma could do it. I'm sure. Just drop the download .zip file in C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\tekkit\texturepacks Ofcourse you have to change <YOUR USERNAME> with whatever your username on your computer is. Also, minecraft isn't supposed to crash with a texturepack. If it crashes, then maybe you've something else going on there... -
Hmmm.... Ok, didn't know that was possible with RP. Learnt something new, but there's so much going on in Tekkit. I don't know everything. (And some things I still have to learn like the RP computer. Computercraft is what I understand, because it's a programming language. RP computers has this binary code. Eventually I'll fully got into it, but it'll take a while. ) EDIT: I looked into it. Unfortunally, it isn't some setting. There seems to be something wrong in the SMP code of BuildCraft. On the BC forums itself are people with the same problem. It is not a Tekkit problem, it's a BuildCraft problem.
-
@Beer: Don't talk bullshit. Nobody have to bite the bullet and drop anything. If someone still wants to use Buildcraft then it's their choice and you should respect that. And to me it doesn't sound as incompatibility but as something that isn't configured like it was back in 2.1.1. That's why I'm going to look at it some time later. EDIT: BTW, try to pump oil/water/lava with RedPower. Good luck with that. That's also something that needs engines and from BC.

Maybe it's a setting or something. I'll look into this later. Can't promise I do this today though...

Equivalent Exchange Missing In 3.1.0(Development)
Iscamania replied to KKABCD's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
It isn't allowed here to ask for an ETA. You'll be frowned upon asking for ETA's by the moderators on this forum. I'm pretty sure of that. It's ready when it's ready. -
Allocating more than 1024mb for server?
Iscamania replied to Triple_T's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
I think you have a 64-bit system and you are running a 32-bit OS atm. Only with a 64-bit OS you could allocate more, so you should reinstall your system with a 64-bit version of Vista or even better, reinstall Windows 7 because Vista sucks hairy balls. -
Equivalent Exchange Missing In 3.1.0(Development)
Iscamania replied to KKABCD's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
EE is coming back, it's removed temporarly in the dev version. Tekkit == SMP, so no SSP only. -
@skwisgaar618: I'm using 1.4.6.2 r5, works fine for me...

Hey... Check this. Lewis and Simon are joined by Duncan for a Tekkit review! This is just new... -
Looking for a good Lets Play with Tekkit 3.0 at least
Iscamania replied to Dodge34's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Duncan from the Yogscast just wrapped up his 2.1.1 season by destroying the world with nuclear bombs and magic from EE. At the end of that you can read: 'Next Tekkit...? ' It's more than likely that they will update to Tekkit 3, to do a new let's play. Just have some patience, it's not a dead issue. Take a look for yourself: -
LOL... Modloader did that too. Nothing new there.

I know, you're not ready with it yet and sure it will be configurable. But NONE of the creepers in the video are what I like for my server. The damage they do are way too ridiculous. On the side note it's my honest opinion I don't even find them suitable in a technical (and somewhat magical) themed modpack, BTW. Even the same with vanilla monsters. They aren't allowed to spawn anywhere near any human build structure, unless it's a dungeon or wilderness. And I also disallow Enderman to pick up blocks. It's annoying on a server.
-
Thanks for posting that. I was curious about the Elemental Creepers mod, so I watched a mod spotlight. After seeing that, there's no chance in hell this ever will be enabled on my server! Oh no!!! Total destruction. Normal creepers are annoying, this creepers are terrorists and a server owner's nightmare. Never ever that I will enable this shit. If you do include this in Tekkit, expect loads of newbie topics with the question on how to disable the mod. I'm almost sure about this.

@Torezu: Indeed, i meant 3.1.0 and 3.0.3... I don't know how I did make the error twice in one post, but I was just home and tired from work. That might explain it. ;)

It is the new Forge. You got an update you say? That's what caused it. Probably something has gone wrong. Wait a little, I'm going to research this for myself. EDIT: Done with researching... It seems like you are using the dev. version (2.1.0) of Tekkit. Download the recommend build (2.0.3) to solve your problems. The client has up-to-date versions of the mods, while your server does not because it isn't a official release yet.
-
In AppData\Roaming\.techniclauncher\tekkit\mods you'll find EE2ClientV1.4.5.1.jar. You have to replace that one with the updated version. The same goes for the server version, but that has to be a Bukkit port. Unfortunally, that's not possible... There is no new Bukkit port yet on http://mcportcentral.co.za/wiki/index.php?title=Ports_for_1.2.5, so you can't update the server yet. When you could update in the future, all your visitors have to update their client with it as well. That's also something to consider before you do anything.

If you read my post more carefully, you would have known that I have my own modded Minecraft. Vanilla Minecraft that is. Not Tekkit. You should never update forge in Tekkit.

Can you add custom music discs?
Iscamania replied to Backplague's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Actually, I think it's in it. And this mod is capable of creating music discs: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1032006-125forgemore-music-discs-v11-may-30-infinite-custom-discs/ I didn't test it and it's not for SMP either. If you using Tekkit for single player also, maybe you could give it a try. If it doesn't works, then you're just out of luck. If you want to have this in SMP, that isn't possible unless you use Spoutcraft which I doubt will work with Tekkit. Personally, I don't think that Spoutcraft works with Tekkit but I've never tested that either. -
I have good news, that's why I bump this little thread. Treecapitator now uses Forge properly. I tested the mod with success in Tekkit 3 as well in minecraft which I've modded myself very recently with the newest Forge available, which is very nice BTW. You don't need Modloader, ModloaderMP, Audiomod, HD fix and/or 4096IDs Fix anymore. Forge has that all covered now and it works very well. (if you know what you're doing while modding) I love the new Forge. Anyway, back to the topic: I have tested Treecapitator with success in single player, this is because there is no Bukkit version yet. But we are almost there! Hopefully we could kiss ChopTree2 goodbye soon. That's also a fine plugin, but it doesn't break the leaves for you unfortunally. EDIT: Whoops, almost forgot this: The mod doesn't work with the custom trees from the Tekkit mods. (RedPower, IC2) That shouldn't be a big problem, ChopTree2 doesn't do that as well. No differences there...

You can't update it. You'll destroy Tekkit itself if you do, plain and simple.
