Yeah, I managed to get onto it before you did.
  2. >Close background programs >Reduce screen brightness >Other power-saver stuff Might not work too much if you're leaving it on for ages, but should be enough for any sensible amount.
  3. Give it it's own power generation if you're worried about power usage - it can really eat up reserves if you plug it in to your main supply and leave it unattended. I'd recommend magmatics for something like that.
  4. Why do you need a server to run a quarry?
  5. Oh well, his obsidian limbs must be very stiff. Same logic applies.
  6. I never really got into Pokemon Black. Shame really, I used to love Pokemon.
  7. Lethosos should be banned for not having any limbs. It obviously means he can't type fast enough, so gets Ninja'd all the time. He should be banned before he starts necro posting every thread he can find by accident, just because it takes him that long to type. EDIT: Sorry for rubbing it in a bit I feel bad now.
  8. _Matarayole_Modpacker_ should be banned for saying no to me. I am the devil, you can't say no to me. Therefore, she's breaking the rules of life and needs to be banned.
  9. Fair point. I'm imagining a huge 4*4 block which has a glowing-green centre and a large nuclear symbol on the back. Every time it pulses, it damages anyone nearby By the way, biofuel is from MFR. perhaps you're thinking of Forestry?
  10. AFAIK it's Buildcraft. And no, not all Buildcraft producers are engines. Look at Biofuel (again). It's just the preferred style of Buildcraft and it's addons.
  11. Vitorsly is banned for trying to steal my paint-drawn devil horns. The horns are mine! Keep off!
  12. In all fairness, you haven't been able to do that in IC2 either since 1.2.5 - for more than just the reason of missing EE2. The technic team have their eyes on a replacement nuclear reactor mod though, which looks promising.
  13. Try disabling your antivirus program temporarily while downloading - it can sometimes block downloads. Make sure to turn it back on afterwards - you can get some nasty surprises if you forget to.
  14. There are plenty of easy, sustainable and powerful methods of generating power in Tekkit - just look at biofuel. I don't think power should be a constant attention thing which requires ages of your time to just maintain - that's stupid and pointless. A multi block system to provide fuel, on the other hand, is a great idea. It just takes a little more effort than "place one block. Done." to get free, infinite power now. You don't need to worry about power any more with a well set up magmatic engine plant than you do with a solar array.
  15. Not very. It's more "Stop complaining that your machines barely do anything because you're trying to power a quarry with 0.01MJ/t!" stuff. In the long run, it's making it more fun for people, not less, by saving them the frustration of not being able to do anything because they didn't realise how low the power output of a redstone engine is.
  16. Because god forbid Tekkit becomes a free-stuff-everywhere cakewalk. You need to give a little to get a little.
  17. People will always spam free energy if they can, so it's not really that surprising if they create a tonne of solar panels rather than moving on. Just look at the people complaining that redstone engines don't work with conductive pipes anymore, despite the fact that they produce something like 0.01MJ/t - far too little for ANY machine to use. The thing people consider was wrong with them was that they were fire-and-forget free energy. In a single compact block or a huge farm, they were still free energy with no risks involved. That's the cause of any hate for them, and many people are hoping for some alternatives in mods such as TE and MFR which include some sort of effort or maintenance, just so it's not 100% free effortless energy. Personally, I'm not to bothered with them - if people want free power, and others want interesting power, it's a matter of opinion. However, I'd still welcome something to balance then free energy forever for nothing thing with Solars, no matter how small.
  18. By solars replacing nuclear reactors, he was referring to solar arrays - which in many people's eyes just completely replaced the need for any other form of power. Who needs to put the effort into a nether lava facility or nuclear reactor complex when a simple block can provide far more power for no running cost, no danger and no effort once it's built? It got on a lot of people's nerves because it basically shortened the list of power sources to solar panel, LV solar array etc. for many people. It's one of the things people most disliked about IC2.
  19. It was never a bad mod, but it's now dieing and if it can't progress further, it'll be left in the dust more than it is already. Sometimes it's best to let go before you're dragging a lifeless corpse whose hands have fastened to yours.
  20. Fair point. If UnholyD wants to live in the Stone Age, who am I to stop him? Him trying to drag me with him, on the other hand...
  21. It wouldn't surprise me if that mod by Sct, which is in the new Big Dig, is in the next version of Tekkit. That adds smaller, but earlier tier, power storage.
  22. Initial cost, and power usage. Don't even bother trying to make the power tool seem OP because it can replace tools for the cost of power - IC2 had drills and chainsaws etc., which is a similar concept on a smaller scale, and I don't hear you yelling "OP!" at them. That's because it's not OP. It's just using power and machinery to replace vanilla stuff - isn't that basically what Tekkit is about? I get the feeling you're just trying (and failing) to prove a baseless point here. As has been already said, it's conveniance. You may not be butthurt about those 4 slots, but you appear to be extremely butthurt about something making your life easier and more awesome/technological. If you don't understand the usefulness of the uphill step-assist, then it really shows that you barely even looked at the armour before shunning it under it's apparent "OP" abilities. Have you ever tried running at high speed without one? The constant bumps make it near impossible for any meaningful distance. Gliding and parachutes are again conveniance. It helps if you're suddenly falling down a ravine to be able to cushion your fall, or even glide over to the opposite side to grab some ore that you spotted. I honestly can't see why you would complain about something which makes your life easier like this just because there's stuff you can do after it. It's low-tech stuff for a reason, and that's reflected in the cost. Give me some real balancing issues please, not just a pile of glaring misconceptions and pointless complaints. Nothing's perfect, but the lengths that you have gone to just to try, and fail, to spot problems in MPS makes me wonder if you really believe what you're saying, or are just trying to start an argument. I'd also like to point out that, while it easily takes the place of quantum armour, MPS is not just about being armour. It's a mod to make a useful, versatile suit full of interesting features and abilities.
  23. Minecraft. The Minecraft.jar is the game. That's why it's piracy to distribute it.
  24. Put it in a DSU. Mass storage for a block with barely any use and a huge supply. You could also try using it to fill quarry holes using a filler. Other than that, it's basically useless.
  25. You do realise that distributing the Minecraft.jar (which will be in that file) is piracy, right?
