Redstone In Motion now in full release as of June 23
theprolo replied to jakj's topic in Mod Makers Market
Why would that screw up mining platforms? The original frames didn't allow in-motion access and seemed to work fine. -
Don't worry, most of the stuff you could do in them is still in, just in slightly different ways.
-
Uee the Add A Game feature in your library. And can you add me (proloap) please, I can't get on Steam at the moment and last time I tried adding you the friend option bugged out.

Quarries can be easily sped up just by adding extra power. While they may seem inefficient at first, you'd be surprised at the gain if you take the time to set up a reasonably powerful and sustainable system to power it. If you're worried about damage to the landscape, build them underground.

I've tried it. It was hell as far as trying to run games older than Vista was concerned. Fortunately I also had XP installed, so that problem was gone. It wasn't too bad other than that, but I can't see I'm sad not to be using it anymore. On topic, I think I got weird flickering effects in-game after messing with my graphics driver options. You might want to check through there and see if anything's gone wrong.

I guess them trying to tempt us into throwing money at them while still making it achievable without doing so is a small price to pay for such an awesome game to be free.

Any post including a link which is the first post probably looks like a spambot. You just need to temper that kind of thing with common sense, rather than going "LINK! BURN THE WITCH SPAMMER!"

It's being held in a sort of beta stage until more info is in. It's going pretty fast though, so that shouldn't be long. Keep up the good work people! There's actually a link at the top of the forums by the way. Just not on the main website yet.

I tried to, but at the moment I'm on my iPad, so I can only find it as easily as you can I'll see if I can post it next time I'm on my computer.

Nope, they definitely have a Java course. I think it was part of codeyear.
-
CodeAcademy does have a Java section, which is what I've been using to learn it when I'm trying to get into modding.

You've activated the chunk grid. I think F9 is the default button to toggle that, so tap it until it cycles through all the chunk grid options and turns it off.

Question regarding generation of the world
theprolo replied to e7tophat's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Sewage can be used to make Fertilizer in a Composter, which is used to speed up plant growth with Minefactory Reloaded machines. Sludge is used in a Sludge Boiler to create random stuff - not particularly useful stuff most of the time, but interesting anyway. Not just any random stuff by the way, just a couple of things like dirt, sand and soulsand. -
I had the same, but it seems to be fixed now.

Neither are particularly useful, it just makes interesting worldgen. Careful though - they give debuffs if you swim in them. -
Great bug report there. The Error message tells you what's wrong though: Your username and/or password are invalid.

Question regarding generation of the world
theprolo replied to e7tophat's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Sewage and Sludge (I'm assuming it's sludge, not oil, because of the density. They look similar, but sludge is transparent) are pretty common in world gen. Your first thing is most likely a fluke - put in a random seed if you want. -
We've explained several methods of fixing your problem in this thread already. I suggest you read them and put them into action as fast as possible, because duck infestations can be very serious if left unattended.

You need to use the account from minecraft.net, and you need to have bought Minecraft on it. If you migrated to a mojang account, use your email, not your username.
-
Use Tekkit 3.1.2, 3.1.3 is extremely unstable and gets you practically nothing to compensate for the bugs and crashes. 3.1.2 is stable and contains pretty much the same content.

Use Engines. Any one will do.

A Macbook Pro? This could be serious - they are commonly plagued by Bunny infestations. You'll have to ask an expert on a solution to that, I don't have experience with such a rare and dangerous problem.

It's not making the wiki, it's filling it out. You don't need to be able to code, just to type.

The loot from them can give you a pretty hefty advantage in early game - huge amounts of diamonds, spell books etc. for just a little risk which can be negated with enough care and practice :P
