  1. Dimensional Doors causes far, far less lag since one of the latest Hexxit updates. Consider re-enabling it. Hexxit wasn't really meant for huge servers anyway, so whether an item can be used to grief or not is a moot point for players like me.
  2. Locks aren't much use when you're playing cooperatively with 1 or 2 friends, let alone single player.
  3. Ah, didn't even think of that. Thanks. Guess I'll be using crates for junk, and reinforced chests for everything else.
  4. Is there any way to store items in an orderly fashion in Hexxit? Or should I take the Vanilla approach and make storage rooms filled with stacked double chests?
  5. My ultimate modpack is my own personal modpack. It's a mix of Tekkit, Voltz, and stuff like Forestry. Plenty of stuff to dick around with. But I do enjoy regular Tekkit and Hexxit every now and then.
  6. I blame CanVox. Not necessarily a bad thing, though.
  7. I can't for the life of me find a fix for this, so I thought I'd post this here. Item numbers in my inventory, as well as my XP Level, keep flickering blue/yellow. This I can live with, but this also happens to the huge Mana bar when I'm using Ars Magica, which is very distracting. I'm using an AMD HD 6970 with the latest drivers, also tried the Beta drivers. Using the LWJGL beta builds didn't help, either. This is fixed in Minecraft 1.6, but I need a fix for 1.5.2 for obvious reasons. If anyone has a fix, it would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: Never mind, fixed it. Downloaded the latest ATI Beta drivers, which stopped items from flickering. The mana bar from Ars Magica flickering was actually caused by the Armor Bar mod included in Hexxit. bspkrs offers a suitable, non-glitchy replacement.
  8. Ah, I see. I guess I was being a bit hasty. Apologies.
  9. Ah, okay. Thanks for the tip. It seems to happen with non-solid blocks. So only use completely solid blocks. Not sure about stuff like glass either, so just go with decorative stuff only, such as Stone, Stone Bricks, Wood, Logs and such. I believe the latest version of MCEdit now supports 4096 block ID's, so you could try and open the world in MCEdit to remove the offending drawbridge.
  10. Yeah, I was just about to post that. It could easily be included in Hexxit, and would make a very nice addition.
  11. What drawbridge bug? Seems like an important thing to avoid.
  12. Feed The Beard. In all seriousness, the copying is getting blatant at this point. I'd call them out on it, but that would only cause more drama.
  13. Welp, turns out FTB is making a "hardcore survival pack", based more on adventuring and less on machinery. (Private pack code is UHS) Blatant copying, much? EDIT: Oops, double post.
  14. When using Conduits, you need to define inputs and outputs properly using a crescent hammer.
  15. Athame isn't all that good. It's mediocre at best, but gains huge damage bonuses against Endermen.
  16. You don't have the 64-bit version installed. Start up Internet Explorer 64-bit and go to the Java website to download it.
  17. Was the player using a computer to control something, perhaps? If not, then it seems to be a bug in Steve's Carts itself.
  18. I know, I picked the wrong words. I guess it would set back modding, but people would probably find a way to make it work, no matter how painstakingly. Whether it be through rewriting their entire mods in C++, or dealing with huge performance issues. The awful performance does, in fact, come partially from Java. Java isn't exactly optimized. But most of Minecraft's bad performance comes from bad coding in general. From Mojang's side, as well as LWJGL's side.
  19. Not really. They just need to port Forge to C++ if Minecraft ever migrates to C++. Once that's done, the process is 90% done already.
  20. Could you post screenshots of your setup, perhaps?
  21. No one can say for sure, but I'm pretty sure that the amount of Technic players is about equal to the amount of FTB players.
  22. I'm pretty sure you need some sort of MOTD message to activate entities radar, as in an actual message sent to you by the server as soon as you login. Not just in server.properties. I'm pretty sure ForgeEssentials can do this.
  23. MFR makes it stupidly simple to farm Blazes anyhow.
