Yeah, I'm pretty sure they will have to get rid of IC2 sooner or later. I'm glad Technic made the jump and completely ditched IC2 and RP2, it's made the game experience a lot more fun, and the pack is a bit more future-proof.
-
Ah yes, I thought as much. This is why there's going to be very few community packs submitted to FTB, no one is going to feel like asking permissions for 50 mods. I'm not saying it's not disrespectful to upload a modpack without modder's permission, but still.
-
I'm just saying that if they're going to make one, they're going to wait quite a while. Making one so soon after Hexxit is released would be too blatant. It would be less blatant to wait for all the fuss to die down completely, and then release a similar modpack. That aside, I think FTB would probably get the whole idea wrong. They'd make it more of a magic modpack and less of a dungeoneering with 3 friends pack.

I don't think they are going to make a Hexxit-y modpack any time soon. The copying would just be too blatant.

How to disable certain parts of the power gauntlet??
Teraku replied to Erik Mancha's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Open mmmpowersuits.cfg in the config folder, and disable the modules you don't want. -
Have your cousin disable his firewall and antivirus, it's blocking the Technic Launcher. Better yet, add exceptions for java.exe, javaw.exe and TechnicLauncher.exe.

List of good places to host your modpack file
Teraku replied to FatsackTony's topic in Platform Pagoda
If you have hosting space and ftp access, just upload the zip through ftp. If you don't have an own website, Dropbox works just fine if you enable Public Folder. -
I played the first, never got around to the second.

Yeah, RP2 was basically a good staple mod, but it's outclassed.

People are just jealous of my swag

Everyone keeps asking me that, but it really depends on the protection plugin/mod you use. Just make sure the players "[ComputerCraft]" and "[buildCraft]" aren't op, and make sure you don't allow them to access protected areas. How you do that is up to you. Some plugins support actively denying certain groups and players out of certain areas.

Nope. If you smelt an ore with Sand in an Induction Smelter, you get 2 ingots, with a 10% chance of Rich Slag as secondary output.
-
Why not? Instead of 2 ingots, you get 3. Just save some of the rarer ores for when you have some rich slag.
-
But rift farming isn't? Honestly, you can let a few rifts from Dimensional Doors get very large in a controlled environment, and you have free Endermen.

The creator of OptiFine doesn't want any modpack to have it.
-
Probably because it was redundant and nobody used it. The only things I ever used were Barrels because they were relatively easy to make early-game.

New Technic server looking for builders to make an AMAZING spawn!!!
Teraku replied to Devo_008's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Yeah, how dare they have rules on their forums, and how dare they make you READ them! -
I believe there's a new method of making those now. Can't remember what it is.

New Technic server looking for builders to make an AMAZING spawn!!!
Teraku replied to Devo_008's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Moderators are like "Meh, possibly didn't bother to not click the warn button". These forums have rules for a reason. -
Add the mods you want to Tekkit Main. Make sure everything works, so resolve any ID conflicts that may occur. Once you got it working, copy all the configs, mods and coremods to your Tekkit Main server. Zip up the config, coremods and mods folder, as well as modpack.jar inside the bin folder of tekkitmain. Upload to filehost such as Dropbox, and add your modpack to the Technic Platform. Give your friends the link. That's pretty much it.

Edit launch.bat, and replace "java" with the path to Java.
-
Tekkit Lite and Voltz can easily get integrated together, you only need to change one ID.
-
Your environment variables aren't set correctly, then. Okay, so you'll want to find your path to java.exe. For me, this is C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe. So instead of "java", put in that path.

theprolo hit the nail on the head right there. The launch of a new modpack gave an opportunity to pull two dying mods from the pack. If you get a chance like that, you need to take it. Before it's too late and you need to choose between people keeping their worlds and not updating, or updating and having people get upset.

Why can't you use the glasses right? Seems to work fine for me.
