OP, honestly, there isn't a single mod that's been in technic pack that would be a violation of law. the MC mod community is a bunch of egoists and assholes. The technic guys might be a little brusque, but they're good for the users.

Talking about pirate material is a violation of the forum rules. as far as the legality of ROMS, you are allowed to download it for 24 hours unless you own the actual cartridge/CD in which case it is not illegal to have a digital backup.

I don't understand their registration system or why it needs to be so difficult. They do have nearly 1000 requests for keys every 3 hours and have had nearly 3000 new accounts since march 27th.

My computer is fucking up. RAM is dying. It's breaking the hard drive. It'll be a few more weeks before I can install those again and expect them to work. As it is, I went from 30GB free to 346GB free just from doing chkdsk /r. MW3 is there and really isn't that terrible. It's just bubblegum that a few of my friends play.

You could. But you'd have to load modloader, modloadermp, and forge into the modpack.jar first.

There's a couple lengthy discussions on nuclear power on these forums. Also quite a few discussions on using reactors to power quarries.

This way is actually much simpler. If you want to install your own mods, you go into %appdata%\.techniclauncher\[technicssp|tekkit]\bin and install them to modpack.jar The new launcher doesn't touch your minecraft folder (unless you install forge to the vanilla modpack.jar) The launcher method allows the keepers of the pack to push out updates a lot faster and makes it easier for you to install. They are working on bringing back the old "choose your own mods" functionality, but that's not a primary goal. tl;dr: you're installing your mod to the wrong place.

TC2 isn't in the recommended build. You have to open the launcher and click options > manual build selection > and select the latest dev build to get the new stuff. They're constantly working on those and bugs are expected.

I think it also works for console copies of the game. I won the code and I have absolutely no plans to ever play it.
