The modpack.jar should be in the bin folder of the appropriate modpack folder in the .techniclauncher folder in your AppData folder. If a folder's already a .jar file, it goes into the mods folder. Also, don't extract .zip files into the mods folder, just put the .zip.

Well, it's generally a good idea to read the installation instructions on the mod and just replace "minecraft.jar" with "modpack.jar", instead.

You're supposed to follow the direction the Eye goes to. Keep doing that until it goes to an opposite direction or straight down, then try to pinpoint the End Portal with that.

Also, use the Eye above ground.

Well, the Eye of Ender will only point directly to an End Portal when you're right above it. It will otherwise point in the direction you should go. When it starts going down to the ground, then you dig downwards.

How are you so sure there's no strongholds? Strongholds rarely, if ever, spawn aboveground, so you need to dig around where the Eye of Ender leads you.

I thought Villages got "Frozen" after you got about 300 m away, but that simply may be they stop doing anything, but their lag-inducing stuff still occurs.

You may need to enable hidden files as visible to see %AppData, though.
