Got Kerbal, am still trying to puzzle out the controls. I wanna explode Kerbals in space, but will settle for launching a probe into orbit to spy on my competitors.
And just to keep things fresh in here, what mods would you recommend in grabbing?

Although if you're running 32bit Windows, there's a natural cap on the amount of memory it can use.

Lava. You have at least two options to use it, perhaps more with other mods. The best source is the Nether, although it's easier to drain various pockets underground.
Just for clarification's sake, the public modpacks have permissions granted. The private modpacks don't need permissions at all.
FTB has far more stringent rules for modpacks, given that they personally host the packs themselves. The Platform only hosts a database to external packs.

In other words, we can't help you without an idea of what Modpack the server is using. Besides, several of us pretty much have an idea of what's going on, but would like some confirmation first.
Simple, there's a natural saturation point where things get pretty muddy after a certain point. For example, if you throw in a large number of biome mods, it gets hard to pick and choose which biome you wanna live in.
