  1. Since we're onto renewables (yay) I've thought of some suggestions on game-play balances. For solar, it should be height-based--the lower you are, the less energy you're getting from the sun. Gives people a good reason to run up a mountain. (In space, I think we can remove the height requirements, but add some wear & tear from micrometeorite impacts.) Since someone's gonna bring it up sooner or later, people will eventually want to work with wind and/or water power. Both should run off a Crank Engine, which is really a conduit of its own. For wind, height determines how many blades you can attach to the back of the engine--from two to four. (Obviously we need to let people color them, as a future fun thing.) And for water, a paddle-wheel to the back under some falling water, obviously. The higher the water is falling (simple check for air above a column of moving water) the more power the paddle-wheel outputs, with an appropriate cap to prevent 250-high waterfalls. For nuclear... well, I definitely recommend a multiblock structure. Precisely how I'm not sure; do we want it heat-exchanger based or steam-pile based? Both have different setups to consider.
  2. *makes a note to see if there is a Forestry github fork available*
  3. I thought that you could stick an energy cell in there to recover lost MJ if you had to move your machine.
  4. I see the genetic exhaustion as making the bees behave like a finite resource. And that's a good thing, as I have an encouragement to keep improving my stocks.
  5. Or just a plain ol' BuildCraft wrench.
  6. It's called patience, grasshopper. When you start flailing about like that, it makes you look stupid and people will expect that, especially from those who grok the info in 10 minutes fast and ask intelligent questions instead. Deal with it, this is a metorical society on this forum where the best survival skill is to not get yourself Kellered. And that is to behave intelligently, as there are posts pointing out that Luke is having computer issues and Scarecrow is trying to deal with the backlog of packs before yours.
  7. When it comes down to it, orcas can be total jerks, and cannibals (in the bush meat sense.) Nature ain't all rainbows and sunshine.

If we could, those electric tools could wear out by holding less charge over time. At least I know mDiyo is doing that with his tools. (I still wanna throw the starter wooden tools into a fire.)
  9. Aluminum isn't critical, as you can make casts from two shots of gold.
  10. There's a whole thread dedicated to teaching people how to make their own modpacks. I think it's stickied, but if you're just being lazy (and I strongly suspect that!), there is also a modpack request thread.
  11. TC does add two Nether ores, so rebooting the Nether is needed. I even heard he's gonna stuff some of the old Orizon stones into the Nether via Natura.
  12. We're not saying that it's bad--I love the bee crap and the tree breeding, even if Forestry machines don't play well with TE conduits/engines in 1.4.7. It's just that there are outside reasons--politics, really--and it's best not to get into it. As Weng Shu roughly said it once, politics is like high school drama without parental intervention.
  13. Too much crap in the way lately, but thanks for reminding me to try and kick out a test version this week.
  14. ...okay, that's a little half-assed right there. Not everyone cares to test all of them.
  15. Go ahead and throw in Imiblis' Microblocks so that there's that functionality from RP World module.
  16. You try undergrounding the conduits?
  17. The conduits will work, we've always suggested that you use the cells as a storage medium between the engines and the machines. Just string 'em up.
  18. Primarily because the wiki isn't done yet. That being said that's why Google invented the search engine. (Okay, they weren't the first, but still...)
  19. A self-fed magma crucible with loads of netherrack will give you lots of power for magmatics past the initial energy cost. Or a treefarm with biofuel engines.
  20. *humps* Seriously, though, don't bump your own post. It makes you look like a spastic kid and sets a bad precent. When someone has a solution, they'll respond.
  21. Try using the engines from Thermal Expansion, they don't blow up AFAIK. At least the magmatic don't-they just lock up til you wrench 'em.
  22. The tutorials off the Forge wiki started me off, but be warned that it's not comprehensive as I would've liked. The writers of those tutorials have their own mods to code first. (A good example is mDyio, who said he would do a tutorial on multiblock structures, but he's pretty busy on Tinker's Construct and Natura.) Wisest thing to do is to not whine about delays and look around for code examples in open-sourced mods instead that does what you're looking for. I've been looking at PowerConverters on github for internal liquid tank examples.
  23. I recommend dropping a note to RebelKeithy over on the MCForums to see what can be done to correct that, but don't expect it to be fixed. (He's a cool guy by all respects, just be aware that he's trying to push out a stable Metallurgy 3 right now.)
  24. The only reason marine intelligence haven't really progressed is due to various factors that *require* the kind of enhanced evolution that early chimps got to become us. In other words, there are no external pressures that require inter-species communication and cooperation for any octopus (and squid, based on other studies. They're just not as developed right now.)
  25. He might as well dump a dozen or so deep storage units on a outflow pipe.
