That's the thing though, when you're in offline mode, your username is "Player" which is why wolves won't follow you in offline mode if they were tamed in online mode. So if one player is in offline mode and another isn't, it should work.

First, when you install forge it automatically installs MCP and everything else you need, simplifying installation greatly. Second, the common and src folders have been merged into one. So you're doing everything correctly, as far as I can tell.

Pipes are from Buildcraft, so you need a Buildcraft wrench to rotate them. -
Meh, I never do any web browsing from anything except my iPad, so it doesn't affect me. I also think that the regular version of java on my PC is like 7u7 or something so also not an issue. (I have 2 versions of Java, JDK for development, and JRE for everything else)

Obviously, you borked something up. What that is, I don't know. I do inow that Dimensional Amchors works fine, and in fact works better than world anchors, because it bypasses chunk limits (chunk limits are a built i limit on chunkloaders that limits the number of chunks that can be loaded by chunk loaders. By default, chunk limits ae set low enough that most servers reach and exceed them easily.)

You can make steel using railcraft, (which is in Voltz, even though it has been removed from the main pack).

Aether isn't compatable wth forge, meaning that it is incompatable with about 99% of the mods out there, including the ones in the pack.
