Deployers don't fill buckets from tanks. You can do one of two things in this case. You can simply skip the bucket step and use a liquid tesseract to transport the lava from the nether to the overworld and into pipes, or you can use a liquid transposer to move the lava from pipes into buckets, and then send it to the overworld, and then use another liquid transposer to put it back into pipes.

Are you using Internet Explorer to download the launcher? Internet Explorer does not respect file types, and turns .jar files into .zip files. Try using Firefox or Google Chrome to download the file instead.

What about if you just added a check box thing that lets you select wether to close the launcher on game launch or not. That way, you can keep it open in the background if you want to switch modpacks quickly.

The redwood trees are added by ExtrabiomesXL. You can install it manually into Tekkit, Tekkit Lite, or Technic by downloading it and dropping the zip in your mods folder for the respective modpack.
