  1. ^^ this one wins the thread, spiderman pic is funny and all, but, this . is. win.
  2. this is a very good idea!(cmuff, love the avatar! )
  3. well said, the prescence of one asshat on the server causes it to become an arms race just to keep things balanced. doesnt make it fun for anyone interested in just playing :)
  4. i was in this boat, marvelling at the incredibly complicated sorting setup i had created using buildcraft, watched a few yogscast vids and realized i was .... doing. .... it.... wrong.... redpower is so much more powerful for the setup i was going for, required a complete teardown and do-over , but i learned a lot about another part of the pack, and am happier for it, (P.S. i have EE disabled on my server) there is so much to tekkit that getting immersed in just one aspect of it is entirely too easy , I would like to have EE back to placate some players, but on the other hand, i would like to see it more balanced before i do so , just my $0.02 thanks for listening
  5. what if you go to the area/co-ords displayed and remove the buildcraft pipes, if you can resolve the issue at the coords listed, your lag should* go away
  6. its stored on the client based on the server that it connected to, a new IP = new server in the launchers eyes (you access it via static lan iP so its always the same for you )
  7. i've noticed when i completely remove my .techniclauncher folder and reinstall that i lose my waypoints, so they are stored client-side (as far as i can tell) are they accessing your server based on your IP or a direct hostname(like dyndns) if the local client is associating those waypoints with a specific IP and that changes that would explain it.
  8. i say leave the elitism where it belongs(not exactly sure where that is, but a video game is certainly no place for it.)
  9. LWC allows for multiple 'owners' of items, but whatever dude, you 'win'
  10. 1. I am looking from a gameplay point of view, MCEdit'd items don't appear as a result of normal gameplay. items worldedited in should take the ownership from the person doing the worldedit. 2. in my inheritance system you do not have access to my deployers to place said turtle. 3.your turtle would not have been broken by joes blockbreaker in the first place 4. your deployer should only be fed by your own machines. LWC does allow for locking of industrialcraft/buildcraft/redpower items with proper configuration 5. the explosion would happen and be treated as if it had been created by me, leaving a huge smoking hole, not saying this is a good thing, but it would be the expected outcome.
  11. when a human places the block, it gets registered to him/her(edit for PC correctness), any further blocks that block may be able to place should inherit the ownership from the parent
  12. not trying to derail here, but one thing I would like to see if its not adding too much overhead, is per-player, fakeplayers, then more consistent control can be done via plugins like worldguard etc, (i.e.: i want RedPower-thevortex to be able to build in my region, but not another players instance of the RedPower player object to be able to quarry into my area, unless this kind of functionality can be implemented currently, and I am missing something huge )
  13. its filed under the 'Tekkit' banner i assume this is geared towards SMP
