  1. Anything else that can do damage can easily be avoided with permissions. Make sure you know how to make fake users for whatever permission system you use, and have ComputerCraft on it, because the turtles are able to go through protections without it.
  2. Basically just ban anything that's going to explode. Or turn explosions off entirely, which is what I recommend. Buildcraft things that are meant to explode when misused will still explode, but they won't damage anything around them.
  3. You don't have to call it anything. They go to multiplayer, click Join Server, they can name it whatever they want, as only they will see what they name it. The only thing they need to have is the ip:port. They could even use direct connect if they wanted, but that doesn't save the information.
  4. But that would ruin freakachu's fun. D:
  5. Tekkit Lite can work through lan. If you wish to run a server though, make sure you're downloading matching versions of the server, to the version of the game that you're selecting. To double check, when you open the launcher, make sure tekkit is selected, and click 'options' (right under login). You can choose recommended, development, or manual build selection. As of writing this, the default tekkit lite server download is 0.5.7.
  6. So, rather than being an entitled child, maybe try to figure some things out on your own, and then update the wiki yourself?
  7. If you find one, report back. (Because they don't exist.) ((Because giving stuff away completely for free that isn't crap is a terrible business model.))
  8. I guess you should assume that that feature is changing.
  9. With a server running, you would have to forward your ports. You can find a guide for it on portforward.com. That'll require the admin password for your router. Once you've done that, you need to give them your IP address. You can find that at whatismyip.com. They should enter it in this format - IP:Port. If you've forwarded your ports correctly, they should be able to join.
  10. They can sting you. >
  11. ... Open immbis.cfg. Find where it says '194'. Change it to something else. Save. Try again. Repeat until it works.
  12. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Slot 194 is already occupied by immibis.tubestuff.BlockTubestuff@1be9ac when adding immibis.tubestuff.BlockTubestuff@8a2584 "This slot is already taken by something else." So, change the item ID on whichever is being the problem. It's in YourServer\config\immbis.cfg. Open it with a text editor.
  13. Or, rather than doing a search, you could maybe open up the place where you know it is? In your server files, in the config folder.
  14. Your alt key is stuck. Or maybe it's shift. One of those. Just press it once in game, and it should unstick.
  15. Go to your server files. Go to /config/NEI.cfg. Find 'lockmode=-1'. Change it to 'lockmode=1'
  16. Alright, yeah. You're right. Mod authors will definitely arbitrarily change the ID's on an established mod, and he should cross his fingers that the author changed them to exactly what he needs them to be.
  17. Yes, the mod author is going to change the ID's of his mod, to conform to Technic. Why didn't I think of that?
  18. Maybe I'm weird, but it actually worked just fine for me with the normal copied link. YMMV
  19. Hi, you're an idiot. Allow me to explain why. First and foremost, your narrow definition of both morality, and the reasons for the requirement of rules, are shallow at best. Morality is relative, and not universal, and the difference between "good" and "bad" is an extremely grey area. Second and equally important, you seem to be convinced that the rules and punishments are solely in place to make people feel bad about themselves. This is not (entirely) the case. The rules are in place to help enforce a certain quality of post. We of the Technic community, would rather like to keep our forums from devolving into the cesspool of "LOL DIAMIND 4 U" of the MCF, to an absolute minimal. This also includes people throwing out dumb uninformed opinions about things that are well over their heads. Third, you were never admonished for having a differing opinion. All of the staff here actually encourage people to think for themselves, and form their own opinion. You were admonished for trollbaiting, and incessantly continuing on about a point that you didn't understand (see the second point). When given responses, and answers to your inquiries, you ignored them, and continued to pester on. This is why you were warned. And finally, the 'changing avatar pictures', is not intended to ridicule (though it is a welcome side affect), but instead to teach. It is an automatic system in place by the board, for users who rack up too many infractions. The points do eventually expire, and you are welcome to rejoin the thinking class, with the functioning eyes and ears of a non-HellenKeller. Please try to understand. We don't like when people are dumb. Please stop doing dumb things, and we will get along just fine.
