Technic =/= Tekkit. Launcher problems go in the tracker. This area is for discussing the Tekkit modpack. Any Tekkit modpack problems go in the tracker as well, not here. Custom modpacks, the ones you get from the Platform and add to the launcher, are supported by the custom pack creator through the discussion tab of the platform page.

Unless I've missed something in the last 3 years, the dfhack guys dropped that after MC moved to the anvil world save structure. They couldn't get it to convert nicely so they just gave up and focused on actual DF useful things. Though it really wouldn't be that hard to resurrect the idea. With a forge or even just a bukkit plugin it would be possible to restructure a section of a live map without having to convert directly to a save file like those guys were doing. And DFhack has come a long way since then, offering lua scripting and a nice API for real plugins. Could do it real time by exposing the DF world to a networking stack and create a bukkit plugin it connect to it and read out block data one by one. Or have an exporter for DF that spits out a plain text map of the world, and a bukkit interpreter to read it in.

Unless the PM specifically stated you have permission to screw over the rest of the modpack creators and the users if you ever felt pissy at them, then no. By the oh so legally binding, universally supported laws of minecraft mod permissions, you do not get to use your role as co-creator of a modpack to demand they stop using it because you don't like them anymore. So if you're that desperate to exact your righteous vengeance upon them, I hear twitter is serious business and a strongly worded tweet can cause a devastating blow to their psyche.
-
I'm gonna guess you had a falling out with the community in question and want to punish them by taking your ball and going home? Sorry, but even if we policed permissions around here you don't "own" the permissions. The mod authors gave the OK to the pack to use their mod drama free. You were just the middle man.

Chau, Vexed, we don't remove posts like mr. todd's here because we'd rather you defend your own server rather than sweep it under the rug. Especially with ones as bad as this. I mean c'mon, the guy's practically begging for someone with a 4th grade education to write circles around him. He's atleast top 5 for the longest run on sentence on the entire forum, and his argument (or atleast what I could skim before the headache it gave me became blinding) is so full of holes you could strain pasta with it.

What exact part of your posts is political speech that we, apparently the US federal government, are trying to suppress? -
So? I'm at a loss here. Do you expect us to revoke his minecraft account or something?

1 thread per series please. Making a new thread for every new video you put out just clutters the place.

http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/55219-Module-Manager-2-2-0-%28July-18%29?p=1281102&viewfull=1#post1281102 FC wants the module manager mod to stop outputing log unless an error occurs because it reminds people they're playing a modded game and he wants his as transparent as possible. The guy wants people to forget they're playing a mod and think his vision is the official game. Wow that's 7 kinda of egotistical there...

AE crafting with Magma Crucible and Fluid Transposer
Neowulf replied to Silmenume's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Use item ducts, or dedicate a crucible/transposer pair for each fluid type and keep the crucible filled with a basic export bus. -
Eh, his tone seems to be "Oh why did those stupid devs do THAT?" as always. Contracts are apparently overpowered so no more science from them in his mod, and engines have to be nerfed because the devs stupidly made them match the NASA rocket parts with their real world data and all. I did find out something I've been pondering. His thread has over 5000 replies now, which struck me as odd since I haven't seen any real interest in his stuff outside the thread. Then I noticed the guy has 1500 posts of his own. Atleast 20% of his thread is him rambling and talking about how the other mods are so wrong and it causes him so much work fixing it. Why can't he go off to a game I don't care about? Like world of warcraft. He can make Better than GUI and prove to the world his vision for the WoW user interface is lightyears better than those stupid blizzard devs and their years of experience and data...

Barely out an hour and the KSP forums mod section is filled with "UPDATE FOR 0.24 NOW PLEASE!"

kid claiming to be a programer for launcher
Neowulf replied to AlexTheZombie's topic in Platform Pagoda
Honestly it's very common for people with no power to lie about their connections to trick those with power over them. You haven't been playing games long if you haven't run into some little kid claiming to either be a dev or know a dev of whatever game you're playing and demand preferential treatment or "you'll be sorry". I've seen so many people claiming to be the kids of developers I have to wonder how any games get made with all the apparent sex game developers are having. So go ahead and laugh at the next guy who tries to bully with unsupported claims of power and threats of disproportional retribution. It helps to imagine them as little kittens puffing their fur out. -
As I hinted before, melt the redstone in a magma crucible first and pump it into the generator without any lava. It doubles the power, 320RF/t for the same amount of run time. No need for lava at all.
-
Try pumping just destabilized redstone (redstone dust in a magma crucible) into the generator instead of redstone dust and lava.

If you or someone you know has evidence of them hacking, call the police. Beyond that, what do you expect us to do? We aren't affiliated with Mojang is any way so we can't ban their minecraft accounts (which, if they're hacking as you claim, would be worthless anyway). We aren't their server host so we can't deactivate their hosting account. We aren't their isp so we can't disconnect them. What do you think we can do? Best we can do is a sternly worded PM (if they even have forum accounts here) and even that is a bit much on the word of a new forum member with a vague report of theft, federal offenses, and douchebaggery.

Woo, dwarf fortress has finally updated! 2 years since the last release, and it's a big one. http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=140013.0 If you don't know, dwarf fortress is an ascii graphics single player fort simulation game with a whole lot of procedural generation. It generates a highly detailed world, then goes on to create the civilizations that populate it and simulate their interaction across time. Previous to this update that was only done during worldgen, but now it happens all the time. Gameplay is a fort sim. You designate what should happen and your dwarves all go off to do work based on assigned jobs. Mine, build, farm, ranch, forge, craft, and fight, along with a very good set of traps and other mechanics such as floodgates and bridges. There is also an adventure mode where you can go off to explore the whole world, meeting any of the thousands of inhabitants and killing em all.

why isn't my thechnic launcher working on windows 8
Neowulf replied to raymon's topic in Tekkit Discussion
Digdug had it right. Please don't provide support in the wrong place, it just encourages people to throwup their posts anywhere. -
Block ID conflict causing a crash. Go look through the Platform Pagoda section for instructions on how to make a custom pack, which is what you're doing.

If the download contains malware then anyone can report them. But looking it over it looks like it's just a semi-legal scam. They don't overtly claim to be technic, just offer a download for open source software. The screenshot may look like an offical technic thing, but that's just a screenshot of the program working. And they do include contact info that is not here. They're doing a really good job at attempting to confuse people into thinking they're the official technic download without actually making that legal claim. Here's a relevant clip of the idea.

Tekkit lite is done. If you want a 1.4.7 modpack with all the tekkit lite mods plus more then you can make it yourself as a platform custom pack.

Swing and a miss. Try reading the forum sections and finding the correct place for this.
