  1. Ah the tired old rumor about technic due to some idiot posting a comment about the donate links going to the technic devs instead of the modders. When its been confirmed that they are copied right from the modders official mod posts.
  2. New taint blocks will just spawn in surrounding areas once the invisible taint in the air spreads to them and reaches a high enough level. As was mentioned before the taint blocks are only a symptom of a much greater and untouchable problem. That can only be addressed by using advanced thaumic means to pull the taint from the air and destroy it.
  3. Looks like Mojang revealed a good bit of their future plans at minecon and a lot of it is rather cool. Here is the gathered info so far about the future of the game on the minecraft wiki. Looks like they are pulling another piston and integrating a lot of mod features right into minecraft it self. Including bits of redpower, railcraft, rei's mini map, and opifine as well as many other things. Hopefully they do a good job at it and don't hold true to their track record.
  4. Won't happen as the two are far from buddy buddy due to differing view points on a lot of issues. Basically FTB was created as the technic devs and the the modders refuse to work with each other. Due to issues of permissions and past drama that will never go away.
  5. I think that is about the news that forage bukkit is dead and it was a major part of tekkit. Which is something we already were aware of. As for the slowpoke thing last i saw in the feed the beast thread is that slowpoke posted in it about our permissions. Particularly the ones for opifine and mo creatures since both of them are very anti mod pack and we most likely do not have permission for them. Thou his post was not bad or at least not bad enough to justify a perma ban as it was just more of the same that been floating around for a while. Grant it was a hour or two before I checked the forums again to see it was gone and him banned.
  6. Which is cool as it appears that a lot of the tech mods are moving towards being interchangeable with one another in regard to a mod requiring another mod to work. Probability as a result of a lot of the modders playing together on the forage craft server and working more closely with one another.
  7. The RP2 pumps been around for awhile now and are in fact in both technic and tekkit currently.
  8. That would be correct from my experience but thankfully it appears the port from 1.4.2 to 1.4.5 is a easy one.
  9. Easy a machine to farm as much string as I can get as the wind mills take a ton.
  10. Please be aware that your probably never going to see that type of post around hear as we do not have the support of the modders. However we do meet the required terms set forth by the modders to have their mod in a mod pack for at least all of tekkit or at least have permissions.
  11. As simple guy mentioned the whole permission issue has nothing to do with money or copy right and has everything to do with respect. This has been supported by many of the modders so far both in these forums and in other sites. Just look up covertjaguar's posts here or cpw and even slowpoke101's for proof.
  12. Hopefully you have a back up of the world since chances are everything mod related was deleted from the world.
  13. Ability to place potatoes in the battery slot for low voltage machines to power them and turn the potato into a rotten poison potato once it is done. Or better yet put potatoes in the macerator to make mashed potatoes to eat if you do not mind the metal shavings from the ores you just macerated.
  14. We are probably not going to see a new tekkit for at least one to two months or more. As the whole foragebukkit issue needs to be resolved first as you need the added server functionality to host any type of public server. But as Lothos pointed out it is not going any where any time soon and more than likely we will see technic 8 long before we see tekkit 4.
  15. Just mentioning it as the process is a lot easier with them but using UU matter and needing a auto craft table for each resource is more fun.

You do not make the items directly from the uu matter, instead you get all the copper, tin, iron, rubber, coal, redstone, and glass from the uu than funnel them into auto crafting tables and furnaces to make the cables, batteries, etc. Which are funneled into even more auto craft tables to make the solar panels. Basically you end up with a massive machine of a ton for auto crafting tables and if you have EE you can use condensers to get all the resources instead of using UU matter. Also that guide you linked to is the full list of all you can make with UU.
  17. It did nothing evil to your computer but it did cause bees to destroy blocks and caused the machines to miss behave. Which was why it was removed from the modpack as it's modder did not want the technic devs to be using it in the pack. Once the technic devs complied and removed it the code was disabled by it's modder to allow people to freely install it manually. Since he had no issue with us using it, only a issue with the technic devs due to a difference of opinions.
  18. With a good solar panel factory it is very possible to build a self expanding unlimited energy machine. Simply design the solar panel factory to convert uu mater into all the resources needed to build the solar panels. That are than automatically combined into arrays of increasing size until they become HV solar arrays. Which are than placed in to the world and wired up by a frame machine to power the massfab to make more UU mater faster. The longer the system runs the more solar panels it will create and the faster the machine will run to where your making a new HV array every few minutes for free. As for EE3 I look forward to it and all the changes it will bring.
  19. Possibly rename it by putting a X in front of its folder name and you may have to adjust block ids. But I think that all its block ids should be unused still in tekkit.
  20. Forestry works well with both tekkit and technic as the nasty code been disabled for a long time now. However due to issues related to that incident forestry will never be a part of the mod pack.
  21. We really need a official technic texture pack that comes enabled by default which labels these things. Since they are the most common item that people ask about and their are hundreds of threads about people finding them.
  22. That was a false rumor which was spread around, the tenhnic devs do not have permission for all the mods and it is true that some of the modders are against technic to varying degrees. But for the most part they tolerate it just fine so their is little to worry about since the chances are low for another malicious code incident. In fact they have permission for most of the mods or at least meet the requirements to use them in a mod pack as set forth by their modders. As for the modders being against technic it is mostly for minor things like differences of opinion or other things. In fact in most cases their fans hate us more than the modders do by a good bit. As for the future of tekkit it all hinges on what is done about the lack of forage for bukkit. Since it is now dead as stated on the front page of the technic site and unlikely to ever come back. So until the forge devs add bukkit like features and the required bukkit plugins are ported to forge it is nearly impossible to run a safe public server with mods. I would not be surprised if tekkit was put on the back burner until the mess is sorted out and the devs focused on technic.

  24. If you think adfly is the reason the modders hate technic you have a lot to learn. As it has a very minor to near non-existent effect on the matter. Since at most adfy is used to help reduce the costs associated with hosting a mod especially if the mod has a wiki or its own website. But will never over come said costs due to how little it makes. In other words they make zero profit from its use so making money is out of the question. The real issue at hand is a lack of respect towards the mod makers from the technic devs or at least a perceived one. Where over time the devs have pissed off the modders by not getting permission to use the mods in the pack and/or not even telling the modders about said use. As well as a few comments and other things that they have done in the past that the modders took offense of. Which has painted a very negative picture of the technic devs in the eyes of the modders.
