  1. Their is also the limitless mining possibility of mystcraft such as doing a cannon ball run though a dense ore world with a mining laser on explosive shot mode. Or the more tame approach of having a mystcraft world set aside just for quarries and other extreme mining to avoid scaring the over world. In fact in a way mystcraft is even more OP than EE by making everything limitless by allowing you to create millions of worlds to plunder for your needs.
  2. You can completely forget about forge ever supporting bukkit officially ever again as the bukkit devs have officially put a end to that ever happening. However their is a unofficial port of forage to bukkit but that is not going to be maintained or updated nor does it have support for many mods. In other words it is a lost cause as it is pointless with out mod support and those to maintain it. Which before you ask the tenhnic devs already have too much on their plate to even think about undertaking something of that magnitude. In short it is best to completely forget about ever being able to use bukkit and its plugins again. Instead it is best to look forward to the many forge mods being worked on to copy most of what made bukkit so great. For example forge essentials which adds a lot of the basic server protections and tools that we once had with bukkit. For the time being if your running a large public server it is best to avoid tekkit light as well as FTB until there are more server management mods. The only alternative is to convert the server to a private white listed one or deal with the griefers.
  3. You have to use the ICBM mod for minecraft 1.2.5 as hinted at by Melfice.
  4. Both technic and tekkit release versions are still using minecraft 1.2.5 so their is no villager trading. Unless your using the 1.4.5 dev version of technic or adding millenaire manually since it was removed in the current versions. Also as the posted above pointed out millenaire should be fully compatible with only possible block id adjustments at most. It was just removed as it has a history of causing performance issues due to its village spawn/maintenance mechanics and adds little to the game beyond the npcs.
  5. From what I heard over at FTB it is coming out this week end along with the full FTB packs. This is from a interview slow had with docm here.
  6. I bought the game in early alpha but was playing it before that via the free creative servers that were available on the minecraft page. Those were fun times where you were trapped into a small few chunk area with everyone else on the server building/destroying anything you saw fit.
  7. Disable the condenser and the collector in its config and that will help greatly with the balance by closing most of the easily automated EMC loops. Beyond that their is little you can do other then disabling large parts of the mod.
  8. Another option would be if you have any 5 tall 4 wide and 1 thick areas in side the force field you can spawn a nether portal in side it. Just get the cords out side the field then calculate a set of cords inside the field closest to the largest open area inside the field. Then divide those cords by 8 and go into the nether to build a portal at exactly those cords. Once you go though it should spawn a portal inside your base allowing easy access. Basically if you have not learned yet the force fields in tekkit are mostly just for show and a big come rob me sign. All they do is deter the unmotivated and inconvenience you in the process. Now the new force fields in the true MFFS, those will take care of any and all unwanted as not even quantum will protect you as they disarm anyone that enters with out permission.
  9. The output of the batbox has the dot on it and all the other sides are inputs. Connect the solar panels to the batbox via tin cable and use insulated copper cable to connect to your machines. Also please be aware that copper cables will begin to lose power if the cable is longer then 5.
  10. Dig under the force field and make a 2 block tall by 1 block wide booth with blocks or force field above you. Than place a trap door in the middle of the booth and open it. Stand in the booth and close the trap door so it is cutting you in half. Now logout and back in to find your self teleported to next available 2 block tall air space directly above where you logged out. Which would usually be inside the force field where you can disable it. This tactic is called a logoutevator and uses a safety feature in minecraft designed to prevent you from logging inside blocks.
  11. Their are it seams as well as all the normal hacks like xrayers and so forth just like their is for tekkit and any other popular mod pack. Nothing you can do to really stop them as hackers will hack. As for server management with out bukkit their are already a few mods out their to add bukkit like features. Grant it most are very basic so your not going to get things like factions, towny, and world edit.
  12. Too late they already did from what I've seen, so all the mods need to be updated again. Thankfully it looks like another quick update for the modders to upgrade their mods.
  13. The attack code was only in one or 2 versions of forestry between 1.1 and 1.2.4 which were between release versions of technic. So no one beyond those playing with dev versions and adding forestry manually experienced it. If you want to play with it downgrade the vanilla minecraft option in the technic luncher to 1.2.3 and add forestry to it. Which should trigger the attack code for you, just don't be too sad when you see how minor it was.
  14. Ultra hard core modded minecraft with a third party built mod pack specifically designed for the challenge. Last man standing is the victor. Ultra Hard Core is minecraft with out health regen and any health granting items made as hard to get as possible.
  15. The decompiled source is not the same as the real source code, since a lot is lost when it is compiled than decompiled.
  16. Personally I would love to see KakerMix, Cheap shot, Slowpoke, and as many involved mod authors as possible to be locked in a padded room with padded weapons for 24 hours to work out their differences. Especially if it is filmed and put on the internet for all to enjoy as I have a feeling it would get interesting fast.
  17. Theirs always her MCF thread which directs you to her site to download it. So at least you would know when it updates and if she supply alt download links.
  18. I guess calling it a war was a little over the top. Personally I don't really care for Slowpoke as well but I also enjoy both packs. Currently playing FTB while I wait for technic/tekkit to update.
  19. Well looks like we have a forum vs forum war going on between us and the FTB forums. Mod edit: no we don't. Not sure if I like it more or less then the whole mod pack vs mod pack war. Grant it I was kinda expecting something like this to occur sooner or later after slow got banned due to his personality. If only people would just play the game and have fun.
  20. It was hinted that after 1.5 they are going to work on more world gen and add more biomes.
  21. Here is slowpokes response to this thread for those that want to read it. Not really much in it other than slowpoke being slowpoke. However it does reflect the fact that everyone should put all the silly hate aside and just enjoy modded minecraft. Edit- Damn blurry beat me
  22. Issue is that would require us to have one of those nice little forum threads where all the modders involved posted that we have permission. Which goes against a lot of things here in this community and with the devs. So it will never happen as the devs prefer to take the low key approach.
  23. That only spawns really annoying wisps that once you kill enough of the problem goes away until you do something bad again.
  24. Yep it is akin to someone putting a keep off the grass sign on their lawn and getting pissed off when someone ignores it. Then reacting by adding a barbed wire fence around said yard. No matter how you look at it some one is going to get hurt and it usually will be a innocent bystander.
  25. To me the whole copyright issue is null and void in this matter. As the true issue is one of respect between the technic devs and the modders which was pointed out a few times by the modders themselves. Basically the technic devs disrespected them in the past by including their mod in the pack with out asking for permission or showing the common courtesy of notifying them. Which are items that a lot of them specifically request to be done. In failing to do so they disrespected the modders wishes to maintain control of their mod which naturally pissed them off and the community. You can argue all you want about whether or not the modders are justified in this request or not but it will never change the fact of the matter. So until the issue of respect is fully addressed and taken care of things will not change. Thankfully it appears the technic devs are doing a rather good job at trying to fix said issue.
