  1. Look up the massfab and the mechanics of the other mods in the pack as their are many ways to mitigate the loss of the condenser. Grant it most of these require a greater amount of setup and to actually understand the mods. As well as playing tekkit beyond waiting for your free diamond making box to give you things. Edit: Example would be building a automated frame quarry in the nether to get the nether ores and a ton of netherrack to be shipped to your base via ender chest. Now at your base build a automated ore processing system to handle the ores and power it via the netherrack in magma crucibles connected to geothermals. As for the extra energy direct it to a massfab fed scrap produced by a recycler fed by a igneous extruder based cobble gen or 2. You now have unlimited resources and a insane amount of power. As for the resources to build this it is no more than a few good mining runs. Also this is only one of many different ways to go about this.
  2. Or just deal with them for unlimited gold a nugget at a time, grant it they are one of the most nasty of mobs in the game other then the wither.
  3. It is using thermal expansions ore gen the same as FTB does it appears which allows them to fully adjust the ore heights, cluster sizes, and rarities. Which any user or server can adjust as well to be what ever they want. I just checked the config for it and it is using mostly the settings as FTB but the ore cluster sizes are larger. Which means you will find more of each ore but they are now restricted to certain Y hight ranges. Copper - Y 75 to 40 Tin - Y 50 to 25 Lead - Y 40 to 20 Silver - Y 35 to 15 As for coal, iron, gold, diamonds, and any other default ore they still spawn at the normal levels for them. So in short if you mine at diamond level only you will never find any tin or copper.
  4. The main issue is the manor in which redpower's engine works, It will auto scale its output/energy draw based off what it is connected to. So it is not the best for things that can take a lot of buildcraft energy like quarries as it will try to fulfill its max energy needs.Try putting a redstone energy cell from thermal expansion between it and the quarry, that way you can adjust the input and output numbers. As well as allow you to store extra buildcraft energy for when your power generation is reduced by low wind and night time. Also note that Elo is working on a lot of additional items for red power including a whole new tier of machines as well as hand tools as hinted at by the charging bench. Unless you only thought the charging bench was only for the sonic screwdriver as she rarely adds anything to her mod with out a reason, other then tungsten that is.

  6. Their is always the mass fab from IC2 which has always been the next best thing to a EE2 power flower. As you can make a lot of the common resources via UU matter and all it takes a good bit of IC2 energy that can easily be gotten with solar arrays. You can even build a perpetually expanding solar powered mass fab that uses the the uu matter to make all the resources needed for solar panels. That are than combined automatically via auto crafting tables into increasing big compact solar arrays. Which are auto placed and wired up to the mass fab via a frame machine increasing the rate at which it makes even more HV solar arrays. All with out ever having to invest in any more resources beyond what it takes to make the machine in the first place.
  7. With both thermal expansion and factorization their are mod mechanics that allow you to triple your yield from ores. With thermal expansion focusing on abandoning the double yield of one ore to get triple from another. As for factorization its ore tripling mechanic is time based, taking 20 min or so to triple each ore. So their are ways to get more from each mining trip and heavens forbid that you actually mine in minecraft.
  8. Powercrystal's nether ores was not released at the time tekkit lite was put together. I have a feeling it would be included once they update tekkit lite to remove rail craft or in the future at some point. Otherwise they may avoid doing so in order to prevent issues with people already playing the pack.
  9. In other words since most servers ban chunk loaders looks like quarries will be banned as well, leaving only miners. Which work far easier than quarries and produce fewer waste products such as the mountain of cobble the average quarry produces.
  10. This thread is not that bad as one of the main issues with the forestry issue was that Sengir never asked for his mod to be removed. Now we have proof that can be quoted to show that Covert at least asked for when the hoard of people ask why the mod was removed. Which is good but it still sucks that it had to come to this, I am still hoping for a peaceful solution to this. No matter how you slice this it is better then what happened with forestry. As for the people saying that Railcraft is useless have you seen the whole steam boiler system which is easily the most efficient way to generate build craft energy. Which can be easily converted to EU with transformers and thermal expansion. Also its loaders/unloaders and rail systems are very versatile especially when combined with steve's carts.
  11. As stated by Covert in his past posts the whole permission issue has never really been about copy rights and has everything to do with respect. Here is the exact quote: We all know that none of this will hold up in court and the only way Covert can act on his threat is via malicious code and further harming technics already poor reputation. Their is also the issue of this leading to other mod devs coming forward in this manor forcing the technic devs to remove even more mods from the pack. As dealing with malicious code is not a option no matter how easy it may be to disable.
  12. I would suggest that you look at Coverts past posts as he warned the technic devs about this a few times along with a few others. So it is no surprise really and if the technic devs fail to handle this correctly it may very well end even more poorly then the whole forestry issue did. Here is railcraft's official license for those that are wondering. Either way at the end of the day it is just a game so it is best to let them sort this out while we enjoy modded minecraft.
  13. Did you wear the full suit as it only offers the protection if you wear the full suit.
  14. If you wear a full hazmat suit it will make you immune to lava but provides little to no protection from normal damage. As for the exo suit they are currently incomplete and the addins are a bit buggy. Also they provide no armor on their own and replies on normal armor that you stack on top of it via it's upgrade system.
  15. Ah this is what I've been waiting to see as railcraft has always been one of the mods that the technic devs had questionable permissions for. Personally this is exactly what Sengir should of done instead of firing first before asking and in doing so you have earned a lot of respect Covert no matter what direction this goes. As for the direction, last I checked the technic devs have permission for each mod in the pack due to most being open sourced or having very open usage licenses. So they can either pull rail craft out of the pack or compile a list of proof including said licenses and other private info they have on their permissions to make public. Hopefully the the second option as that info would go a long way to a peaceful resolution to this and help technics image. Either way It does not really matter as I will play which ever pack I find the most fun and enjoyable with what ever mods I want to add.
  16. Yep that was fixed awhile ago, it now only provides 90% damage reduction which is equal to a average suit of non optionally enchanted diamond armor. In fact a fully maxed out suit of diamond armor can provide up to 96% damage reduction and can be repaired on a avail. So Nano is not really that great other then costing less diamonds and a lower chance of losing it.

  18. I think you may have to color the bag when you craft them but should be able to do so afterwards. Check NEI for canvas bags to get the recipes.
  19. I think you need to cheat the Alchemy Bags in with creative as they have no recipe since they are still a work in progress. As for the canvas bags they can dyed and you can carry as many as you want but the mechanic of having all bags of a certain color linked is not part of redpower which adds them. If you want linked color coded bags take a look at ender chests and if your worried about people stealing your items just right the ender chest with a diamond. Which will put it on a separate network that only you can access.
  20. EE3 will not include anything like the old collectors, condensers, or anything else that can potentially make free items. As its author wants to correct the over poweredness of the mod and bring it more in line with other mods. Now as for getting more resources than the basic ore doubling offered by the macerator and pulverizer, both factorization and thermal expansion offer ways to triple your yields. How ever both have their pros and cons, which for factorizations comes with time as it takes at least 20 min to triple a single ores yield. As for thermal expansion the mechanic works by sacrificing the double yield for one ore to get the chance to maybe triple the yield of another in the future. Aka if you have a ton of iron ore but very little tin ore you can sacrifice the double yield on the iron to potentially get triple the tin.
  21. Forestry is closed source and the malicious code was already disabled by Sengir with in hours of technics official removal of the mod. So it is completely safe to install manually and in fact is very easy to do so, just don't expect much support form the technic community as mentioned above. As for the grav-chestplate and Vajra that would be this one Gravitation Suite.
  22. Forestry is a very sore subject around hear due to all the very heated drama surrounding its removal from technic. So it is a subject that is best avoided as everything that could be said about the matter has been said enough times to beat a dead horse into the microscopic remains of dust.
  23. You are correct and is also why forestry will never be technic again and a large amount of people have no trust in Sengir. I just wanted to make sure the facts were correct about what the code did and how minor it really was but malicious code is malicious code. As for MFFS the reason I like thunderdark's new version is it does not matter what armor or equipment you have if your not suppose to be inside the forcefield/area you will be removed. Not only that it will also strip you of your items before killing you so that the owner of the field can decide to give them back or keep them. Which means that not even a full suit of quantum will protect you from it unlike a tesla coil equipped force fielded.
  24. It also shows how misinformed you are as well as the only thing the malicious code did was disable bee breeding by causing any breeding attempts to end in a special troll bee. Which would only cause minor harm to the area around your bee box so if you did not use bees their was no issue with the mod. Also note that the malicious code was only active in specific versions of the mod between technics update cycle so no one was directly effected by it. Other then the shock of finding out that its author would much rather put malicious code in his mod instead of doing the sane thing of asking for it to be removed directly. With that aside my only real issue with tekkit light is that it is still using the old advanced repulsion mod that is based off the original MFFS instead of thunderdarks new one. Which is many time better at protecting a area from griefers that can easily by pass the force field via the many tricks out there.
  25. Last I checked you could or they were still working on that as it is still in alpha but their are other older projects like fihgus. But that one was designed for people who did not want to use bukkit so may be limited in areas. Edit: Just checked their documentation and here is the list of commands and functionsin the mod currently. Looks like they have yet to release the permission system and area protection parts of the mod.
