Get the modpack Here!

Story:

Within the endless void of the different minecraft dimensions being made and destroyed one of the gods created a new dimension.

This dimension cluster initially named "Haven" would be a dimension where weary crafters from the other deadlier dimensions, be it ultra challenging situations or modpacks could come to to rest and have fun and unwind. As such, the worlds created in the pattern of Haven had almost a ludicrous abundance of resources meant to cater to the needs of the coming adventurers.

Unfortunately between the dimensions there are other outside forces at work. One such force was the unfortunate arrival of a travelling ascended band of mobs known as "The Masters". These mobs, banded together after fleeing worlds slated for divine destruction (deletion or having been forgotten) eventually found their way to the dimension of Haven. Finding the inhabitants unaware as they mined lush resources and played without a care, they attacked.

Wiping out the lazy minecraftians was an easy task for these hardy mobs who could multiply their numbers in the blink of an eye trained using powerful weapons and unknown technologies. So soon enough, they had control over the dimensions core and hence colonized the dimension with their influence turning themselves into the spawning race of mobs for the entire dimension... A heaven now turned hell.

Between this time the player was meant to reincarnate in Haven for their shot as rest and recreation, but they were headed on a one way trip to disaster. Until they were found by another unknown entity, a somewhat almighty white cloaked yet minecraftian figure who made his home between the dimensions in the void who had been watching the problems down in haven unfold. Grabbing the player as he/she floated by he gives them an enchanted book (yes! the hardcore questing mode book) and after a quick conversation (seen as the narration of the cinematic trailer!) sends the player on their way to haven where once awake in a newly spawned branch of the dimension he would inform them of what is happening and they would have to work hard to attempt to either fix the problems of haven or take advantage of it...

About Masters of Minecraft

Masters of Minecraft is an overpowered variety modpack created initially as a private pack for myself and friends. But then it evolved into not only my favorite and best personal modpack ever that from a few months ago I've wanted to share, but also my indirect statement towards other "challenge" packs that achieve their challenge through imposed limits, tedius tweaks and tech trees.

Masters of Minecraft does none of that. Instead it gives you all the tools, a world where "The amount of ores rival the stone in the ground" and one purpose. Survive the onslaught of the masters, an Ascended Transdimensional race of mobs out for conquest and revenge who can kill a man in diamond armor quicker than you can say "holy shit" if you give them the chance. Then ultimately create a sanctuary where they can be happy before induldging in sometimes (if you're unlucky) endless battles with foes with the strength to stand up to the player at any level.

The modpack uses Hardcore questing mode to provide a 3 lives stock in all worlds and lots of small helpful quests to guide you on your way, including information on not instantly apparent things such as the use of mine and blade battle gear and Zelda sword skills to enviromine and some soft hunger tweaks (none of that super bad magical farm/agrarian sky bull, but it still utilizes hunger overhaul and pams harvestcraft...) and a custom 4 piece "make your own starter gear" questline accessible right from the get-go.

Sure you can hide as long as you want inside your "hole in the wall base" or 9x9s but one day with the evil infusion of zombie awareness, custom mob properties, hostile worlds and special ais you will have to face them eventually... and what better way than with the full unfiltered (and in some cases even buffed via configs or special mob item drops) power of some of the greatest mods 1.6.4 has to offer!

"Compared to yourself from any lesser world, you might aswell be a god!" -The Observer/????

Why 1.6.4? That's oooold. :V
It's not that I don't want to update. Even if i am dreading having to remake the masters for 1.7.10 due to the lack of item IDs and changes within mob properties. But it's because some of my favorite and more iconic mods (in my opinion) aren't completely or at all updated. Such as dimension doors, custom guns mod and chocolate quest.
Dimension doors I just love and have quests that use it. Not to mention I've used it as the bridging mod for "The observer" and where he resides.
Gun customization mod in my opinion blows flans out of the water due to the bullets not having hitbox deadzones forcing you to waste all your ammo sometimes cause of bullets clipping through stuff and missing even at point blank range where stuff is meant to be effective. And it's easier to pick up and go with just using primarily iron, redstone and gunpowder for all of it's weapons. But also the thing it's gets it's name from. The customization.
I've noticed a beta of chocolate quest/better dungeons but until I'm sure it works I'm not overly sure about using the beta until it's an official thing because some of my masters use weapons from it and I just generally like the dungeons it generates because it gives me more chances to place loot everywhere... and also opens opportunities to make more custom mobs using mob properties. And I will come clean, I pinched Yogcast Complete's configs and fiddled with them a little so stuff would actually spawn in some other biomes...
Finally it's sort of a personal reason. I've played and used this modpack generally alone most of the time and the reason it never got released sooner was drifting in and out of the feeling of continuing with the pack and as such this is also a humble plea for help as I want people who genuinely love the pack to help me in suggestions, quest writing and even story progression further than I've already gone. Along with technical sides such as making an updated version as a team effort and maybe eventually having a super awesome server to play it with other people on.

Please note, this modpack usually requires a good 2.5 to 3 gigs to just run nicely and it can get rather laggy when the world is generating due to all the custom generation thrown into the mix. So, sorry in advanced if things won't work for slower computers and such.

Ow, my feels.

This mod pack gives a presentation like no other that I've seen. I REALLY want to play this.

Once I get a strong enough computer to play this thoroughly I'm gonna rate this  modpack!

Give it your all! I'm gonna cheer you on till the very (if there is one) end!

Stay Strong, cause whatever happens, I don't want to be disappointed.

Ps: Picking that song from Xenoblade for the trailer was a great choice. Fits it perfectly!

Oh yes. I'm big on first impressions. I didn't want to leave anything except the people who would one day see the modpack and want to play it to chance. :3

It's more like I fitted the song perfectly because I REALLY wanted to use it. ^_^'. Becaue it took me a few nights to line everything up to perfection and cut up the narration and video so that it would be readable in the timeframes. I'm glad you like it. and if you could refer the pack to some friends who can also attempt to play it I'll be grateful. :)

Very nice presentation.

Im gonna download this and try it out. Thanks for putting this together.

I like mod packs that have a story behind them. Makes the world more fun to play in.

You should try useing a custom pre-made world  if your not already.

I woudl recommedn Theworxx. its a pretty cool custom made landscape world. we use it on our server as well. very nice.

Eitherway, I'll def. try to spread some love for your mod pack to my community as well.

and no, I specifically made the modpack to be on base generation cause I wanted it to be openworld and hence not limited by the bounds of a custom map. Thats why most quest objectives are either craftables or special drops from the different standard masters like the Alchemists zombies you'll see around or the boss masters like  "Colonel Withbie", "Inquisitor Clinks" and "Overlord Zam-B"... Just... if you see a creeper who isn't aggroing on you ever, don't get too close. it's probably creperton the gentlecreeper the master's rich benefactor... He's a gentleman so he won't blow up on you unless you get up in his face and take up his personal space while trying to take him out but cause of zombie awareness he will pathfind around with them, but he'll usually just ignore you anyway.

And I appreciated it. :) Do enjoy. And try not to ragequit too quickly. ;)

I really like the basic idea, but have a couple thoughts (not having played the pack, but having to deal with lower-end systems with a few clients I host a server for, so take the list with a grain of salt, and as suggestions only):

Things to remove:

- Get rid of, or dramatically reduce from the default size, depth, and quantity of Roguelike dungeons.  All the spawners thrash my server whenever a RL Dungeon is formed.

- Turn some of the bigger stuff in Chocolate Quest off, or again reduce the spawn rate.  If I can see 3 or 4 underwater complexes in a zoomed-out map, there are probably too many of them.

- Remove the Special AI from FatherToast's mobs mod, or at least disable giving it to every mob (this helps when you want to spawn Wither Skels in an MFR auto-spawner that will actually drop skulls, too).  Sadly, it's been the worst cause of lag I have ever seen, especially when combined with a RL Dungeon.  It's cool to have, but it's murder on server and client alike.

Things to add:

- Advanced machines (immibis-made, not AtomicStryker's)

- Sanguimancy

- Remain in Motion (Redstone in Motion, updated for 1.6.4/1.7.x)

Needless to say, a 1.7.10 update might be a challenge.  I don't see that Dim Doors will be updating any time soon, though.  Chocolate Quest has a 1.7.10 beta.  Gun Customization has been abandoned by the owner.

Roguelike dungeons I have considered removing just because I'm salty about not being able to change it's loot and they sorta become a clusterfuck sooner or later with the rate the masters spawn.

I could turn down some stuff but that seems to only happen in oceans cause they're so damn big? Because I literally hardly see ANY other buildings when I'm in inland areas. But I'll take that and maybe touch up the ocean building spawn rates then.

Special AI? Nope. It's the version where it's ONLY the special AIs not the entire random mobs thing with the gatling skellies etc... Because that mod would screw up my masters and also cause problems with advanced genetics. The special ais only extend to zombies and skeletons for the most part unless I put them in the config like I did for making wisps and mini-spiders etc rideable by babies and stuff. I've turned off their passive greifing tho because THAT was like a massive source of lag while I had it on for some reason. And... the wither skellies should still drop skulls especially if you use beheading cleavers? Because I don't touch base mob drops at all even with my custom mob properties.

Advanced machines? don't be a baby, use dartcraft's machines they have the same effect and are better.

Sanguimancy? I'll have to take a look at that but no promises unless it's epic.

Redstone in motion? Uhhmm.... Probably not? I'm not that big on redstone-y technology other than gates and wires that can go on walls or wireless stuff cause I only do basic things... and I didn't even put wireless in cause I've never really needed it (cause I'm always dead or constantly brawling with the master armies. >_>)

Just suggestions.  RiM is a nice little mod jakj made and PlanetGuy continued from here on the forums, which basically adds frames (from the old RedPower 2) to 1.6.4+ versions.  It's not RS-fancy, it's just mobile (and teleporting) structures - care should be used when trying to move large things.  Sanguimancy's just a Blood Magic addon, not its own mod.  And I...didn't realize Dartcraft had its own Advanced Machines equivalent, because I haven't played with it much.

oh? moving buildings and frames? Could be alright for the tech experts, but if I gotta move something having a modular ship thats taken up and taken down via traveling house or chocolate quest capsules works for me. But i'll check that too then. and yeah, I figured sanguimancy was blood magic based on the name. and yeah there is force machines if IC2 is installed. They work just like the standard advanced machines but only cost similar to standard machines... and induction furnace works well enough but so does lava powered force furnaces with speed 5 upgrade cores for when you're not smelting constantly cause of automated lava from ex nihilo cause of time upgrade speed ups. :3 Thaumcraft golems sped up with time powers to hyperspeed is also hilarious for thaumcraft aspect making. XD but... never let the masters access an area with an active speed up time upgrade or you'll be in for one of your worst days ever. >_>

Sorry all, if I was feeling it'd there'd be an update already but I keep getting distracted by Starbound's new patch. But it's getting there. As a warning, I buffed the ender draygon and fiddled with several other things to "see how they go". :3 ... anyone of those 78 downloads want to share some stories of victory/absolute bullsh*t death? I like stories. :D

Wow, this pack looks like it has more effort put into it than anything I've seen in a while. Congrats dude! You earned a like from me.

Thanks a lot. :)

Thats because it has had a lot of effort. Since I started it like april or may or so last year as a private pack that was meant to just for myself and friends as our own private super big-dig of sorts but but then it evolved and became a mix match of challenge, story, overpowered have fun and adventure mixed with "hilarious amounts of somewhat rage inducing bullshit" (you'll agree when you fight the masters and have them dump armies on your head) you see before you. So yeah, it has been a while, it should've been out ages before christmas but I didn't know whether or not to keep on going or not cause of everyone ragequitting not being able to play, my own waning interest, but I eventually pushed it through in a moment of renewed confidence and it seems to be going alright now. :)

New update is out. New: Unique masters! Randomized zombie, skeleton or angry zombie mini-bosses with gear randomized from a relatively large pool of equipment (about 20 or so items per slot including 2-6 enchantments and silly names courtesy of fathertoasts random name generator) and further improved stats. If you're lucky and strong enough to hold out you might just find some rather nice gear off them! (50% drop chance per item slot) :D Changelog at the modpack page. :)

Question... ( Yeah, I know... haven't posted on this forum since December :P )

I've noticed a "Server Download" Section on the mod page...

IF anybody does has any servers that involve this pack...

or if there is some sort of official server...

would you people care to inform me on the server i.p. or something along that?

PS: Dark mega...

I just got around to fixing the problem I had with my computer not being able to play certain modpacks...

And I do say...

WHAT A MODPACK.

Bit laggy on my end.... but that's to be expected :P

Update is out! Watch out for Masters in the nether with the master pigmen! Also fiddled with entity IDs to make them definitive so the server will stop mixing stuff up and blowing up and fixed a number of quest derps. 635356669595335315.png

SOOOooo, after forgetting my password for a bit. *poke* hasn't been an update just a bump. BUT I would also like to ask (like in the status messages for masters) if anyone would like to help with a new pack I'm developing? :D
