TempestChair Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Now that Eloraam has pushed RedPower to 1.4.5, we've got lots of time to think about the next RP2 update. Anyone have interesting ideas for machines they are going to build in when RP2 is out? Quote
racingpro Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Couple tweets down It feels weird to update to a version that's not released yet, but I just moved RP development to 1.4.5. Getting down to the last few bugs. Quote
TempestChair Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 Sure things. She posted it on here twitter over the weekend. danidas Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Easy a machine to farm as much string as I can get as the wind mills take a ton. Quote
GreenWolf13 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Easy a machine to farm as much string as I can get as the wind mills take a ton. And then power it with windmills. Quote
Silent Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I know that the RP Control recipies are far from finished, and I'm thinking more BT generators and more frame stuffs. So pretty much more Computers Bluticity and Frames Quote
warpspeed10 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I'm looking forward to the windmills. Also hoping the BASIC Boot Disk add-on is included as well. While I think FORTH is fine for minecraft, BASIC is still used in the industry whereas FORTH is very uncommon, so in my opinion it is better to encourage students to learn BASIC rather than FORTH. Made_You_Look Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Basic sorting systems will be heaps easier now. You just hook up a manager to your chest, put 1 stack of each item you want in it, and the manager will continually refill the chest with whatever you take out from wherever else in your network. Gonna be sweet. Quote
racingpro Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Basic on a RP computer? I might actually use it then. I personally hate RPN, so something like basic or lua is much preferred. If only she wasn't so picky about every bug. Quote

Made_You_Look Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 This sounds like redpower logistics... *drools at the thought* Pretty much. Basic on a RP computer? If you're referring to "basic" in my post, I mean it'll be simpler, haha. Quote
TheTaleteller Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 The new sorting system will be very interesting. On the other hand it have to be compared to the dev builds of logistic pipes, which had evolved way past the 1.2.5 version. Those HUD goggles stunned me for a moment, yet it still misses some kind of buffer module. /edith says: typo Quote

Anyone have interesting ideas for machines they are going to build in when RP2 is out? I am unfamiliar with how Technic plans it updates but... if RedPower goes to 1.4.5 does that mean Technic will have to wait until the other mods. can get there too? I assume that technic uses 1.2.5 because the other mods. are just not updated. Quote

I assume that technic uses 1.2.5 because the other mods. are just not updated. Most big mods already did the step from 1.2.5 to 1.3.x and further. IMHO the present dependency chain is way to long (Vanilla->Bukkit->ForgeBukkit->MCPC) and takes way to much back and forward porting. My hope is Forge introduces all API necessary to run the important management mods making the process much shorter and lesser problematic. On the other hand I have low hope for the "upcoming" vanilla mod api to be anywhere near the possibilities of forge nowadays. Quote

Forum: please don't crucify me for saying this. I am not in a rush to upgrade to 1.4.x I mean really... technic if you look past the occasional crashes and bugs overall it seems fine to me as it is. I am actually annoyed that the SP and MP are getting merged. I don't know why the MC dev. team wants me to jump for joy because my computer has to run twice as hard. Emyi: Quote
Industrial Miner Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I'm definitly going to try out a new logistics system. One with the item managers, the other with the item sortron ( the one which is controlled by the computer). PS: Still playing in 1.2.5, but now I'm trying to make Forestry farms work with only Redpower machines instead of pipes. Quote
TempestChair Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 As an Electrical Engineer who also enjoys programming, I'm looking forward to building interesting control circuitry. Quote

Michael101 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Does anyone know if there will be RP pumps to go with the waterproof tubes? Or will they just accept liquids from IC/buildcraft pumps? I've been playing 1.4.2 for a while now and am really looking forward to the return of marble and basalt... Quote
danidas Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 The RP2 pumps been around for awhile now and are in fact in both technic and tekkit currently. Quote
