What do I use instead of the IC2 Safe?

I have searched the wiki and can't find what item replaced the functionality of the safe from IC2, private only chest/storage. Does AE's ME system restrict access to the user? Or is there some other mod/method/etc in Tekkit that will allow private chests? Thanks!

There's apparently some kind of lock and key setup you can use on chests that restrict use to only those who have a copy of said key for said lock. It's about the only alternative that you can use. Just do a search in NEI and you should see the available stuff.

Use Ender Chests, and right-click on the chest's lock with a Diamond. It will make the chest into a private Ender chest. No matter what anyone does, only you will be able to ever access the contents. Anyone can access the chest, but they will only see their own private chest contents.

Could always carry a ME drive with you with your stuff and access it at any ME chest.

Use what Teraku said, Enderchests with a diamond.

The pros and cons between the Safe and the Enderchest are:

Safe can't be destroyed, the Enderchest can however.

The Safe can't share it's inventory between dimensions and other safes, the Enderchest can.

IF the Safe gets deleted/destroyed, you'll probably lose it's contents. The Enderchest inventory will still exist (unless you delete it's datafile) across all dimensions and can be accessed again.

Hmm, locking down ME Storage in Applied Energistics would be nice. I play on a rather small server and trust my users, but I can see why using an AE only storage system might be bad on a huge server. To easy to completely clean you out!

Unless the diamond function of EnderChests has been altered since Tekkit Lite 0.6.1 that is not the case, I've placed a diamond locked chest and everyone has been able to access my private network through that chest so long as it existed in the world

You could shift click the diamond off the lock when you are done, but then you would always need a diamond stored outside of that chest

Using one of the Bukkit providers (MCPC+ for me) you can easily add something like GriefPrevention to control access to containers and machines.

I've done multiple tests with Tekkit Lite 0.6.5 and the behavior is always that using a diamond locked ender storage (chest/tank) does indeed limit access to the owner.
