Mistah
how can you obtain platinum ore in the latest version of tekkit? we can't seem to be able to find it anywhere? We're trying to build an energetic Infuser. we know that it can also be obtained by pulverising ferrous ore, but that seems like a huge waste, as there's just a 10% change of it being created in the process. Is there any other possible way of finding/making shiny ingots?
theprolo
I don't think there is actually a platinum ore in Tekkit. Pulverizing ferrous, however, is not a huge waste - it's a huge bonus. You get 2 ferrous dust, and the shiny metal dust is free extra. What's wasteful about getting extra stuff?
Daemon_Eleuel
There is, it's just really rare :| out of a 60x60 quarry I get 2-3 ores at best.
Magicthize
Our server has run maybe 20+ 64x64 quarries and we've never found a single Platinum ore. We've got all ours from pulverizing Ferrous. It's so rarely used that I haven't really considered it something about which to be concerned.
Dewfire
Yea, I've never seen one. All our shiny metal has come from Ferrous being pulverized and when we get lucky finding some in Dimensional Door chests.
IceCF
I found one in the nether, deep near bedrock.
Valkon
If memory serves correct, Nether Platinum becomes Osmium, not Shiny Ingot.
MoJoCyAnIdE
try searching for nether platinum ore, I don't know the exact numbers but i know I find it easier to find than platinum in the over world.
dwwojcik
I think I found a platinum nether ore once, I'm pretty sure it made shiny ingots.
Norman1346
There is, it's just really rare :| out of a 60x60 quarry I get 2-3 ores at best. So? It is my understanding that you will need exactly one and only one shiny ingot in all of tekkit, for the infuser you are about to build.
TonyVS
Platinum ore pulverizes into shiny dust (which can be found in the neither) which then can be made into BARS, and Ferrous ORE being pulverized will net a 10% chance of shiny dust. I have done both of these with in the last week
Minecrafter805
Generally how i do it is, I walk around the nether looking for anything shiny. A really shiny ore is the platinum ore and a not as shiny ore is probably diamond. Or i just hope to get lucky and get shiny dust when pulverizing ferrous ore. PoisonedPeace
Pulverize ferrous or search the nether. My friend and I have been playing for a little over a week, and we've got almost a stack, plus 4 energetic infusers lol
Wichamando
I get Platinum dust by putting nickle ore in a sag mill and then you can turn into a ingot in an alloy smelter. You have better luck with Dark steel or End Steel grinding balls in the sag mill.
