Prowler1000
Is it possible to run a tekkitmain server without using the batch file?
Fyrst_Igor
Whats the problem using it?
Prowler1000
Well I would like to run a tekkitmain server with my server host but I cant use a batch file only a jar file. So I was wondering if there was something I could do/use instead of a .bat file?
Spoonman
you can probably find a cmd.exe or DOS shell emulator that can run the batch file for you
Prowler1000
Huh? I need to run something close to a jar file. So will those work?
Teraku
Why can't you use a .bat file? Try run.sh instead of run.bat if batch files aren't working due to your OS.
Prowler1000
Its not my OS im using windows 8, my server's hosting company doesnt allow the use of batch files.
Teraku
Try running Tekkit.jar. If that doesn't work, then you are simply out of luck.
Gildan27
The OS of the server is Windows 8? What type of interface do you have for running your JAR? Like a command where you type something? If you have some web control panel or something, can you post a screenshot? You can run Java and point it at the JAR. I'd need to see what mechanism you have for starting an application on your host. Karaktar
its basically a server wrapper which add bukkit plugin compatibility

The one next to STOP and RESTART
Prowler1000
Well I cant use tekkit or FTB because its only Minecraft, Bukkit, and Spigot.
Dewfire
Well I cant use tekkit or FTB because its only Minecraft, Bukkit, and Spigot. I'm not following you here? My server is hosted, I placed the Tekkit.jar file on the server and launch that. I then get MCPC+ and rename it to tekkit.jar and then start the server up with that file. You will know it's MCPC+ because it's around 20mb where as the normal Tekkit.jar is only like 2mb I think.
LazyRob
Well that's a restriction by your host then But I know Multicraft intimately, and like I said, it automatically sets the .bat and .sh files up for you. So you don't need to worry about either of those If you are trying to run a .jar that isn't listed in that drop down menu, then you will have to probably create a support ticket and they will do it for you
