Any decent server worth its weight reads the forums and puts in fixes. If you expect Tekkit to hold your hand the whole damn way and you can't bother to put in several fixes which take MAYBE 5 minutes to do all of them together, you probably shouldn't be running any kind of Minecraft server. Along with that, most of the fixes were found by Tekkit servers. The community worked together to find them and post solutions. Most of us don't have a problem with it. I don't see how you can't wrap your head around the fact that its not a big deal that the block place event bug isn't included with the zip you download.

What's happening exactly? Are you having item spills?

You don't have enough ram for whatever is set in the launch.bat. Edit the launch.bat file and change the values where it says -Xmx3G -Xms2G to something your computer can afford to spare like this: -Xmx2G -Xms1G (or lower if necessary, you can do 512M if you cant spare a gig)
