  1. Hey guys, I want to borrow your brains for a minute. I'm looking for a new desktop computer that can handle gaming and recording reasonably well, and I want to try to keep the price below £950 (for you US folks, thats 1604.17 USD). This could hopefully include the computer, plus a monitor and a keyboard if possible. Any thoughts?
  2. Welcome to ScarecrowKrone's MineTek! Quite possibly the most insane multiplayer modpack ever created, you really experience the very best the modding community has to offer with MineTek, the latest creation from ScarecrowKrone. Space stations and lunar bases? Check. Massive, crazy factories making every kind of machine possible? Check. Adventures with magic and mayhem? You got it! Travelling to alternate dimensions in a minecart while wearing the most powerful suit of armour ever devised, all the time launching missiles at your rival and laughing maniacally? Sure! A combination of all four? Why the hell not! Welcome to MineTek! The modpack of why the hell not! If it hasn't been done already, or even if it has, you can do it with this pack! This pack is fully Solder enabled, plus it has its own 24/7 official server! Come join now, we are celebrating our 1 year anniversary and thus we are running special events throughout Easter! There is no better time to join us, so come on! What are you waiting for? We are waiting for YOU! Technic Platform Website Server Address: play.minetekmc.com
  3. I'm having this crash that I am unable to trace on the official server for MineTek. It's a generic crash but there is little information on the report that might allow me to find a fix. Crash: http://pastebin.com/18dXGc8a Can someone help me out a bit. I'm an experienced server owner but I'm stumped.
  4. The Platform was, and is, a community fuelled system. Technic wants everyone to be able to enjoy what they want to play in the easiest possible way. That system doesn't exist anywhere else. And yes, some of these modpacks aren't that different but they all appeal to different people. A fair amount of people here don't understand how to make modpacks, and rely on the Platform to find their 'perfect' mod setup. The Platform exists because there was, and still is, a demand for such a system. I agree that the hundreds of thousands of modpacks on the Platform (including about a hundred copies of mine) can dilute the system, however once a user finds something they like, they are going to agree that the Platform was the easiest method of getting it. There is definitely room for improvement in a few areas, but overall the Platform is an excellent system and an amazing community project. I also disagree entirely with your statement about the Platform 'splitting into specialized cliques'. I am no longer on Page One of the Platform listing, but I work with about half a dozen other modpackers, and mix communities on a regular basis. This idea of the Modpack community being 'split' is a nonsense. Hey, the top three stickied threads in this sub-forum have been contributed to by over a dozen different modpackers, including yours truly. I really don't understand how you can say the community is splitting. EDIT: Tell your friends thanks for playing my MoonQuest!
  5. Hey guys, Quick inquiry about the Platform. I can browse other packs just fine, however when I try to look at my own packs, I get a 'Website is offline | 504: Gateway time-out' error. The screen I see indicates that the host (www.technicpack.net) is at fault, but I'm slightly worried that its only my packs that I can't see. Can I get some clarification from one of the Technic Team please? Thanks.
  6. Added 1.7.2 to the base server files downloads.
  7. New forums look nice, ties in well with the Platform theme too. Thumbs up from me guys!
  8. Well, if 45 works it makes sense to stick to it. Like I said, its just advice.
  9. My players have reported similar issues with Java 7 Update 51. My advice; don't update to it!
  10. Actually sct, the site is slightly misleading. It says the livestream starts on the Friday, not the early release. Maybe you need to make that clearer so idiots like me understand better. And yes, CanVox, I figured you would do some magical fairy stuff like that.
  11. So I was in a good mood and donated $5 to Child's Play through the attack of the B Team modpack page, using my ingame name 'ScarecrowKrone'. Just asking, how does the modpack appear/how do I get it?
  12. Meh, if you did or you didn't, I don't care either way. I've been called worse. Just think about how your posts come across in future.
  13. I didn't say Flan's always crashed when you used it, I said that my experience of Flan's is that it is buggy and unstable. I'm simply recommending caution; I myself have corrupted a world when using it.
  14. Oops, it was http://files.minecraftforge.net/fmllibs/ not .com. Oh dear.
  15. I do. My advice: don't use it, it will murder your server and is more buggy than a swarm of locusts.
  16. NotEnoughItems is not the issue; in fact NEI is required serverside for functions like Creative Mode+ to work. Rei's Minimap is 100% client side though, so ditch that and you should be fine.
  17. If you have been 'ninja'ed' someone has beaten you to it, posting wise. They are therefore a forum ninja.
  18. Trouple? Isn't that some weird three way couple thing? I don't even want to know what "small group of friends" actually means..... Anyway, we need more information about the issue in order to help. Your explanation was not very technical.
  19. They changed the file extensions so Forge cannot find them on 1.5.2. Navigate to http://files.minecraftforge.com/fmllibs, download them manually and add them to the libraries folder.
  20. I could have told you that Millenaire does not play ball with other mods. Or anything really. A rule of thumb would be play Millenaire by itself.
  21. The government is a lie; the world is actually controlled by the film industry who use the power of Real 3D to project mindless obedience into millions of poor film-goers. The ultimate plan is to *REDACTED*
  22. If you right click the JAR files (Java ARchive), and (assuming you have 7zip installed) go to 7zip-> Extract files, you can all the files that you need.
  23. This is the readout from the server machine: This is fairly strange, since I did build the modpack in 7u45, and also while I (on a Windows 64 bit, running 7u45) can connect to the server fine, this guy running: cannot in fact connect to the server. More weird shizzwoz from Forge I guess.
