  1. I know it's not exactly what you're looking for, but the wiki has some pretty useful info to read through and get a sense of what things are available to you. http://wiki.technicpack.net/Tekkit
  2. maybe you should troubleshoot it by charging it all and then separating the two powered halves... see if both drain or if only one does... keep subdividing until you've narrowed down the culprit.
  3. any entity-query plugin suggestions? I wouldn't know where to begin looking for something like that.
  4. have you tried a turtle also? does it do the same thing?
  5. when you say it doesn't work, do you mean the computer still acts goofy or the mod won't download?
  6. it doesn't need a pump, just a redstone signal to pull liquid from tanks
  7. having tried with various setups (some with RE Conduit and some without), I'm actually growing more confused. (1) with a single face attached (RE Conduit into Energy Tesseract), I can send max 80MJ/t into the Tesseract, which gives me 60MJ/t out after 25% loss. This mostly makes sense, with the catch that max input appears to be 80MJ/t on a given side [interesting side note -- Energy Tesseract claims "Energy Requested: 32.0"]; (2) with a second RE Cell attached to a second face, I can now send max 112MJ/t into the Tesseract (80MJ/t from face-1 and 32MJ/t from face-2). Notice that the 32MJ/t matches the Energy Requested from the previous test [Energy Tesseract now claims "Energy Requested: 13.0"]; (3) with a third RE Cell attached to a third face, I can now send max 125MJ/t into the Tesseract ([face-1] 80MJ/t, [face-2] 32MJ/t, [face-3] 13MJ/t). And again the 13MJ/t matches the Energy Requested from the previous test. Noticing a pattern, I predicted (correctly) that the next value would be 5.0, since each successive face seems to allow only (approximately) 40% of the previous value (or a reduction of 60%). [Energy Tesseract now claims "Energy Requested: 5.0"]; So, in summary: 25% loss is verifiably occurring 5% loss does not seem to occur with RE Conduit (which we is as expected, based on the latest version) somehow, there is a decreasing amount of throughput available based on how many sides are in use.
  8. I remember now there being a discussion of removing energy loss. However... after checking the config file, I did find this line: I:EnergyFramework.Redstone.Loss=5 so perhaps there is still 5% loss in the current version?
  9. out of curiosity, how are you confirming that you're only getting 80MJ in? I set up a quick test situation with a full Redstone Energy Cell (REC) feeding into an Energy Tesseract and then out a few paces away into an empty REC. After checking at three random intervals, I found my energy loss (total) to be 24.1%, 23.8%, and 24.6% but that's totaly energy; I don't really get how anybody can get such a fine-tuned reading to identify actual MJ/t throughput.
  10. right -- makes sense what you meant now. i just haven't ever used autarchic gates and didn't know what you meant about pulse mode. guess I'll have to finally dig in and learn about them
  11. which gate? just a standard gate? (http://wiki.technicpack.net/Iron_AND_Gate)?
  12. yeah, the only downside is the update essentially turned the modules (invisible suit components) I'd already created to scrap; but once you have Quarries going, I guess what's a few wasted resources, right?
  13. if I'm remembering correctly, you can adjust your powersuit 'look' via an editing screen... possibly 'L' ? it no longer needs to be constructed as a suit modification
  14. I hear you -- I know it's a little late, but I've gotten in the habit of running the SimpleBackup plugin just in case. (First I install MCPC-Plus for MC 1.5.2)
  15. it's a known issue that Secret Rooms seems to be the cause of Battle Towers spawning in existing locations, so it's not about traps so much as just some strange world regen issues. EDIT: just to be safe, let me rephrase that to "there is strong evidence to suggest a connection..." that's the only connection I've seen up to this point for that Battle Tower problem.
  16. Well, I wasn't going to respond, since I know next to nothing about Force Fields, but since you went and bumped your thread, here's a few suggestions: (1) read this -- http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/board-rules-and-guidelines.3918/ (2) you can edit a previous post by clicking "Edit" near the bottom of it (3) There's no such thing as Tekkit 1.5.2. There is Tekkit 1.0.6 which runs on Minecraft 1.5.1 and Tekkits 1.1.5/1.1.6/1.1.7 which run on Minecraft 1.5.2. Yes, I sort of know what version you're on based on your description, but I'm a detail-oriented guy and like to call things by their correct names/version numbers. (4) no idea what to do about editing modeCustom, but perhaps just comment out that line?
  17. I don't have all the answers for you, but I can make a start: (1) When trying to post a bug in the bugs section, you need to use the link: "Submit a Bug Report" at the top of the page. (2) When you say "powered by a redstone engine", are the pipes attached to a tank of fuel? Could you maybe post a screenshot? (A good way to do this is to upload it to imgur.com and share the link) EDIT: I'm just an idiot and can't read, apparently. (3) Have you considered Liquiduct? They may be tougher to manufacture in the early game, but they're great for liquid transport and seem (in my experience) to have less odd behavior than other options.
  18. really? The only serious bugs I have found reference to are (1) don't look at Endertanks, (2) Phased pipes seem to have issue, and (3) something may be amiss with Atomic Science. Maybe I've missed a bunch of bug-related conversations, but I don't know that I'd say 1.1.6 is "extremely buggy". am I missing a bunch of bugs? I've been happily playing along for weeks without an issue, though I admit that I'm still in the early stages because I can't play as long as I'd like.
  19. per this conversation, MCEdit or WorldBuilder will do the trick. I just tried it with WorldBuilder and it was rather simple. EDIT: Sorry, no idea about the spawning issue.
  20. That actually makes a lot of sense, as if there are any unexpected (invisible) connections, like Jakalth described, they would default to white. So that might be a nice general fix.
  21. I really like crates. They aren't great for finding specifics, so aren't necessarily what you're looking for, but for huge stacks of generic stuff (e.g., dirt, cobble, sand, etc.) I think they're fun to use.
  22. have you tried looking here: http://forums.technicpack.net/forums/hexxit-servers.93/ ??
  23. any lava pumping in the nether? I would actually expect that to cause continuous lag (if you have a lot of flowing lava), as opposed to spikes, but I'm just starting with my most common lag situation.
  24. and then you right-click on the drain? how much material have you smelted (if you mouse-over the liquid level in the smeltery control block it will tell you how much)?
