  1. Which texture pack version did you download? Are you using the same version for both Tekkit Classic and Vanilla? Share links to where you got the files (and which specific ones); maybe that's related.
  2. I'm sure you did -- that's all it takes.
  3. yeah, well, it happened to me as well -- that's how I know :-)
  4. the first two possible problems that come to mind are: (1) did you get both the vanilla Sphax back AND the Tekkit add-on? You need to place the add-on portion *inside* the base zip file. (2) once you have them merged, are you sure that the file structure is correct? Once, I accidentally created a folder within a folder when I rezipped the archive (e.g., my folder structure should have been Sphax/textures but was actually Sphax/Sphax/textures). I'm sure you already read through this stuff, but just trying to be thorough, so you might re-read the install instructions here: http://bdcraft.net/forum/128x64x32x-tekkit-smp-312-addon-pack
  5. Is it only the box that disappears, or the entire NEI screen? Try pressing 'O' (the letter, not the number).
  6. You sure that's not an Invar Axe on the top? They look so similar, it's easy to miss.
  7. um, if you found these forums I'm surprised you didn't already find the files... from the main site it's right under modpacks http://www.technicpack.net/tekkit-classic
  8. But if you're running a server plus the game then you're potentially doubling the RAM used. Check RAM usage when it starts to lag and post here both how much each is using and how much total you have. One process will be 'java.exe' and the other will be 'javaw.exe'.
  9. If you have a specific saved world/game, I'd back it up (save it elsewhere) and then just wipe everything and reinstall from scratch. You could probably get away with just resetting the Tekkit Classic pack if you wanted to give that a shot (it's under the gear on the Tekkit Classic icon), but if all else fails a clean install might do the trick. That said, you'll still need to log in once while connected (and, as Valkon said, set it to "Remember this account"). if that still doesn't work, I'm out of ideas.
  10. It's called "What Am I Looking At", or WAILA. I think the numpad-1 toggles it.
  11. That sounds like you ran the minecraft_server.jar file instead of the BTeam.jar file. Make sure your launch.bat specifies 'BTeam.jar'.
  12. And you can't log in when connected to the internet? It is the same password you use to log into Minecraft. But it has to validate you once (online) before it will work offline.
  13. I'm really not sure -- but it's not the Tekkit Classic that's the problem, it seems. We need to get you logged into TechnicLauncher. You do need to log into TechnicLauncher once with valid info, so maybe that's the issue. See if you can get that fixed.
  14. Then I must be misunderstanding you. If you've already played it on that system, it should be simple to play "Offline". When you run TechnicLauncher, what happens? I just disconnected from the internet and tried it -- I get "PLAY OFFLINE" in the bottom-right, where "PLAY" normally is; and all my modpacks have OFFLINE written in red on them. I just pick the modpack and run it. When I try a modpack that is NOT installed on my system, I get an error that the modpack is missing or corrupt. But an installed modpack doesn't give me problems. How far do you get before you have trouble? And do you get an error, a crash, ...?
  15. Just run TechnicLauncher and then select/play Tekkit Classic while you have an internet connection. It will automatically download the right files -- while I imagine it's entirely possible to get them otherwise, that would be so much more complicated.
  16. The "Play" button becomes "Play Offline" or something like that -- it should still work just the same. The only catch is that you must have downloaded the necessary files (while connected to the internet) before this works.
  17. If you can open the memory pull-down and it maxes at 1GB then you possibly have both 64-bit AND 32-bit Java installed and your system is defaulting to the 32-bit version. You might want to check for multiple installs and make sure your path variable is set to point to the appropriate location (Of course, this is assuming you are using Windows, as that's the only OS I'm familiar with)
  18. fascinating -- funny, the things that can be so easily overlooked... thanks for the heads-up!
  19. For a while, I've been bothered by incorrect item/block names in NEI (not a bug, but just stuff not properly identified in the 'en_US.lang' file, I believe). For example: in Natura, the Blaze Hopper from the most recent Tekkit version (1.2.8e at the moment) shows up in-game as 'tile.nether.hopper.name'. I'm currently in the process of trying to make some additions to the 'en_US.lang' file, because it just keeps bugging me when things don't properly identify in NEI or WAILA. BUT... while looking up item IDs in Natura, I came across the Flint and Blaze. The in-game ID is 12715 (I can 'give' myself that item in Creative) and yet the ID in the config is 12459. Guess I've never needed to know this before, but how does that happen? What's going on? Ultimately, that may not even affect what I'm trying to do, as it appears the .lang files only create 'nicknames' for the underlying block/item identifiers, so IDs aren't important for what I'm trying to do. I just was completely befuddled that an ID number could change like that. I might have thought that somehow another mod was automatically correcting an ID conflict, but there appears to be no other item in-game with and ID of 12459... so there's no reason for it to have been changed. Am I just losing my mind?
  20. If you're using the same version as the server, then maybe you just need to reset your pack (click the gear in the lower-left of the BTeam icon in the Launcher). If that doesn't work, I'd double-check that the server is a matching version.
  21. I've no idea about the Minecraft version compatibility, but this post is pretty helpful and might help you tweak installed mods:
  22. The only thing I've ever heard of that allows water drainage like that is this. But I've no idea what version of RedPower it's for or if there's any reasonable way to add it to your Tekkit Classic.
  23. When you shut the pumps off (the last time you described) did the engines then fill with water? I'm trying to figure out if somehow they aren't filling at all or if they're just filling really slowly. What type of pipe are you using to transport the water? Maybe you're running into a capacity issue... if all the engines are fed by a single pipe perhaps it can't keep up with so many? (But, to be honest, I'm grasping at straws because I haven't experienced this issue before)
  24. What do you mean "isn't doing anything"? Is it failing to load at all, or is it loading but acting like vanilla (your original problem)? Are you getting errors? Perhaps you should post your error log (the one that reads "ForgeModLoader-server-0.log"). It's usually a good idea to use http://pastebin.com/ so that it doesn't fill your post with tons of stuff. And let me ask again -- when you say private server, do you mean you're hosting it on your own machine?
