I think I see your problem. In your second picture, if the cable shown is the one going from the reactor/HV transformer, it's attached to the output face. Energy storage units have 5 input faces and one output face.

You could use the RP2 tubing system, that works with EE2.

Not necessarily. A transformer would allow you to connect an MFE to a reactor. I would recommend an MFSU if you're using a reactor, though.

An MFE won't be able to handle that much power unless your reactor isn't producing much.
