The Electric Engine is part of Forestry, which had to be removed due to the author's behavior (adding malicious code that activates upon detection of the launcher). Equivalent Exchange isn't in the development build because... it's a development build.
Ping is a measurement of how long it takes a packet of data to go from your computer to another and back in a network.
So if I "pinged" you, it would measure how long it takes for a packet of data to go from my computer to your computer and back.
Higher ping generally indicates that there will be a slower connection, and therefore more lag.
If, by chance, the Tekkit server is on 3.0.3 you'll have to go into the options and select to use the dev build, since it's not set to recommended yet.
Also, use the bug format next time.
In-progress list of known bugs:
1. The mod "TMI" is dysfunctional.
2. The launcher tends to attract waterfowl to the user's computer.
3. Some other stuff that's probably not important at all.
It could be... you know...
Disabled or something.
Also, you probably should have used that nice convenient bug report format. Too late for that, though.
The best part is that they're always the exact same game, just with different names and graphics.
And none of those in-game graphics ever include the scantily clad women from the game's ads.
You can just hit the o key like you would with TMI. Personally, I'd recommend setting it to recipe mode (left clicking on items will show their recipes and right clicking on items shows what recipes they are used in) instead of disabling it all together.
