Perhaps that ability wasn't intentional.

Kr0nz, just tried that in 1.0.10b and shift-clicking the villager with the ball didn't work. Unless you meant with the launcher?
-
When you changed the modpack version it should of asked you if u wanted to update it, if you clicked no, you wouldnt of updated.

Using the safari net launcher is the only option that works 100% of the time, just keep in mind you need to be far enough away from the villager so when you go to fire the launcher via right-click that you don't interact with the villager. This is the case for all other mobs that have interactions with as well (ocelots, wolves, minions, ...)

I've been looking for a means to count large amounts of entities in an area. I know of the Mob Counter from MFR and am using it presently. However, it will only output a signal of strength 15 max. Using the projred red alloy wire allows for a higher value but each mob adds a larger number to the wire output value per mob, still limiting it to 15 at the max 255 value for them. Anyone know of a sure-fire, efficient method for counting mobs (this includes farm animals) in an area?

Hope you brought a safari net or two so you can take them home and breed/spawn them.

Also, keep in mind there are a ton of new biomes in the modpack so finding a jungle one may not happen right away. I spent a good hour once looking for a Mystic Forest before I found one, and some other biomes (like Alps) that i wasnt looking for but ran into for the first time in the +-5000X/Z area im limiting my server to.

They are using the latest version of the modpack (1.0.10b atm) and not the recommended (1.0.9c) you would have to change it to the latest through the launcher's cog icon under the modpack logo.

No, the log you see regarding IC2, etc is done by a vandalous user, Builderman0317, who will be banned as soon as I am able to on there. This same user was banned from the Hexxit Wikia site for the same problems.

I'm not sure those count as a jungle biome. I personally have quite a few around in my world but havent noticed any ocelots spawn there. If you are able to find a biome though that has jungle leaves/logs on most of the trees, you should be in a good biome for ocelots.

Did you rename the MCPC file to "BTeam.jar" to replace it? If not, do that.

If you fixed the issue, Gator, I would of expected a comment from Jim2029 in regards to this. So far, I haven't seen it.

My response was toward the wording of what your post is saying. The post contents making it appear like this particular set-up is the end-all setup for all mob farms because it provides infinite mob essence. I know this isn't what you intended on this posting, but the wording of it made it come across this way to me.

Jungle based biomes, per above comment, and per vanilla Minecraft spawn rules. Keep in mind though that they wont spawn if the mob cap (see vanilla minecraft wiki about this) is being hit.

Most common issues and fixes! And known problems
Kalbintion replied to arriej's topic in Attack of the B-Team
Just noticed another issue on the tracker, regarding to Natura.txt having an unmatched quote. The "delete file" method for the mapwriter.cfg fix solves this issue as well but the error line is slightly different. First time I've seen this issue but in the event it is reoccurring, may as well make a note about it. -
Post on the tracker then, following the guidelines. Links available in signature below. Make sure to include a crash log.

That particular issue doesnt seem to be fixed in 1.0.10b.

Can't Use OUR Nether Portal?
Kalbintion replied to TechnicForumMember's topic in Attack of the B-Team
The obsidian type doesn't matter. As long as the base ID is of that of obsidian (which it is, for all chisel variants) it should work properly with a portal. -
LWC and Crafting station ( tinkers construct)
Kalbintion replied to Nightfury18's topic in Attack of the B-Team
Remove the station, dont used locked chests (strongboxes are an alternative)... two thoughts that come to mind. -
ID Mismatches from 1.0.10a to 1.0.10b are minimal - only one complaint from proj red, this can be ignored. ID Mismatches in most cases can be ignored, you would just have to double check to see if anything is missing and in every case does not mean a new world or a reinstallation.

Not to mention the hammer, screwdriver, ... things that already accomplish this

1.0.10a seems to have a lower spawn rate. I mentioned in another thread that I was there for an hour and only got the 1k pixies, whereas before it was 10s for the 1k pixies. It still isn't entirely resolved but it seems to be less of an issue in the updated modpack version.

Kr0nz, I've been doing a lot of work on the crafting pipes since 1.0.9c, trying to make them work properly. I've ran into them being buggy, crashing, failing to work at all, or just simply downright broken. I've avoided them because of this. For something in a mod, it is one of the worst things ever documented and implemented.

Can't Use OUR Nether Portal?
Kalbintion replied to TechnicForumMember's topic in Attack of the B-Team
It's a vanilla minecraft thing. In order to ensure a portal connects to the one you want it to connect to, the coordinates in the nether are 1/8th of the X and Z coordinate in the overworld (Y doesn't matter...usually) and in the nether, if a portal is 128 blocks away from other portals, when it attempts to go to the overworld, it'll create a new. Similarly, a portal in the overworld 1024 blocks away from any other portal would create a new one in the nether. You can see this done in a lot of large vanilla minecraft servers where a nether hub is created, as it is often the case people are closer than 1024 blocks together and thus their portals would connect to each other unless this method is done. -
There are many reasons to using natural grinders, especially in the case of using items mobs drop for power sources (blaze rods, sticks, sugar, redstone, glowstone, ....) or simple item collection for crafting, etc. This provides more than just mob essence as it provides additional sources of necessary things (power, items, xp, ...). Not saying this method isn't useful, it is just portrayed in a way that makes it sound like, to me, this is better than everything else because infinite mob essence.
