It's Buildcraft pipes, by the way. You could make it work by replacing the diamond pipes with Sorting machines, and Redstonepipes with Item detectors.

Porting to MCPC doesn't actually look that hard. I might give it a try when I get a chance, but I'm not sure that I would be able to distribute it, since I might not have the recognition needed for a mod author to entrust me with the Bukkit port to their mod...

That, and the mods haven't become inactive from their writers. Check your facts next time, seriously. They're just perfecting a few things before release. Only 4 mods in Tekkit aren't updated above MC 1.2.5, one of them needs one of the others to be updated(eloraam is perfecting Repower before release), and the other 2 are addons which needed to wait for their parent mods to be updated before entering development. Of the entire Technic pack, 83% of the mods are updated and there's a higher number for Tekkit. The MCPC build for 1.4.2 has been released and several mods are already ported to Bukkit. So no, Ethann, your post is completely wrong. In terms of what to expect, I think the only thing to say to that is "more mods". Thaumcraft 3/Arcanacraft is becoming SMP! We should get steve's carts, and Thermal Expansion. Possibly even Logistics Pipes. Tekkit won't be dropping mods at all, it'll be gaining them.

Unpleasant News For The Future Of Tekkit
theprolo replied to jakj's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Looking at the Server Ops forum, it turns out that while Forge themselves aren't making a Bukkit port, someone else already has. MCPC has a build working for 1.4.2 already, with a good selection of mods already supported. Perhaps things won't go so badly. -
Those pesky teleport pipes again....

They're buggy. Don't worry about it. -
I thought Tekkit used MCPC anyway, it's what I always used.

So how exactly does this work? If ForgeBukkit is dead, then how come we have a good selection here of forge mods ported to Bukkit? Is there no ForgeBukkit after 1.4.2 or is the death of ForgeBukkit a myth?
-
No, the process is random. When cross breeding the same plant with itself, you are most likely to get the same plant. You crossbreed again. With 2 different plants, it's most likely to be one or the other. It's a random process, so any combination has about as much chance as any other, unless it involves the plant you want to breed.

No, I don't have a mac. Like I said though, I have had this problem before, so it's not mac specific. -

Are you trying to build in the spawn area? -
Unknown control ruins inventory

That's an annoying thing, I sometimes get it. I think pressing ctrl or something fixed it, but if that doesn't work try some other buttons. -
Make sure the energy link is after all your machines.

I said that all along, honest The idea of the item detector is that it forms part of a tube system. When an item goes through the tube, it emits redstone signal. If you have a filter pulling depleted cells out, and they pass through the detector, then the item detector should pulse every time one is removed. If you use that pulse to pull a normal uranium cell back into the reactor, the amount of cells inside the reactor should stay constant. For the forcefields, if you use 2 reactor heat controls with a constant supply of ice, you can successfully run a 6 chamber reactor completely filled with uranium cells.

Each of those HV solar panels produces a packet of 512 eu/t. Those cables can carry a max packet size of 2048eu/t. The nuclear reactor, however, produces packets of 2400 eu/t. A packet of 2400 eu exceeds the 2048eu packet limit of the cables. Packets can be confusing, but that's how it works. No amount of HV solar panels will produce packet sizes over 512, it will just create a huge amount of 512eu packets, while the reactor produces 2400 in a single packet. If you don't understand that, just go look up IC2 eu packets.

I'm still not completely sure how to decide which company I'll join... I'm going solo at the moment, but I don't intend to do that forever. Any ideas? D:

Did you actually get Pail working with Tekkit? I must have forgotten to update it or something, when I tried it completely failed. I've missed the GUI screen.
-
I'm fairly sure that applying redstone current to either should prevent them from emitting power. Either that, or the person in that forum post raging at me for not knowing that lied >:/

I'm mostly curious at why he didn't just download a vanilla or Bukkit server instead, rather than getting a Tekkit one and uninstalling the Tekkit part of it.
-
The Batbox/MFE/MFSU. That would turn off all the things connected, so I would go for Splitter cables, so you can have more control on which machines get power. Try using the Tekkit wiki, you'll be able to find out more on them there.

Questions about Tekkit going to 1.4MC?
theprolo replied to bradford342's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Uhhh... Is that the wrong name or did I miss something? -
You could have it completely full using forcefields. I won't go into details, but it's possible. For your design, try feeding the reactor ice to cool it, and possibly a system to pull any depleted uranium cells out into a breeder using a Filter. Then use an item detector I'm the tube to activate a filter putting uranium cells into the reactor. So with this, every uranium cell removed should be replaced by another.
-
If you mean turning them on or off you either need splitter cables or powering the power source.
-
I think if you find the original thread, you can see that a lot of the people planned on doing lets plays, so a live stream shouldn't be a problem

Questions about Tekkit going to 1.4MC?

I don't think that Technic would ever just stop existing even if FTB used exactly the same mods. They don't do it for money, so why should that stop them?
