  1. If you do this, it would be fun if you made it as realistic as possible.
  2. He is still updating them and answering questions on his thread. We need to hook that guy up with an IRC channel and a live stream.
  3. I said zero level. The first two tuts are quite out of date and any questions can't be directed towards mDiyo as he's gone. After that it's advanced stuff which is probably not where someone would want to start. Someone on DW's SMPLP does live streams of their coding. That might be a good thing to check out. I don't remember who it was though. edit: I read through the advanced tutorials. Watch those videos to figure out how to set up a development environment and then use this guys tuts. They're really good and cover enough of the basics to get you started.
  4. It's actually really hard to find zero level information on creating mods for minecraft.
  5. Sorry. I'm a fan of people trying to educate themselves.
  6. click This should get you started with the basics of creating simple mod structures like blocks and world generation. It helps to know java if you want to do more complex things.
  7. won't a solar helmet keep it from completely depleting as long as it's day time?
  8. get MultiMC for putting together and testing your pack. It has ways of logging, makes adding and removing mods super simple, and can even downgrade your jar for you if you need it. After testing and configuring, you can still set it up to use the technic launcher if you want.
  9. Awesome job. As an idea to extend this, the ability to create doors with a pressure plate already on so you don't have to add it a block back would be nice.
  10. well, you could always fuck around with it until you get portal gun to work with tekkit and then post the solution for people.
  11. does not supercede federal law. Marijuana is still classified as a schedule I narcotic. now, cops are just less likely to bust you for it. also: to OP. adblock is not illegal. a lot of people don't like it because they don't get paid for displaying their ads, but it's a legal and acceptable tool to protect yourself from fake download buttons, malicious adservers, and flashy lights.
  12. Hmm....would this really go into the modding forum? I'm just a little curious. I guess cafe lame maybe? it was late. I was drunk. she looked 18.
  13. aren't the files modified by tekkit in the modpack.jar?
  14. If you play your own modpack or have modified technic/tekkit to fit your personal needs post it here. I wanna see what people are doing. cuz I'm curious. Here's Mine: I chose these mods to balance out utility with building and adventure. Plenty of ways to create awesome contraptions while still having lots of adventuring to do and building awesome stables. I think millenaire and mo creatures are crap but Chococraft and Tropicraft give me ways to complete quests when I'm tired of mining or upgrading stuff. and then shaders to really prettify the world.
  15. you can't call my argument invalid when you don't understand the logic behind it. The user is not paying for access to the content. The developer is being paid to provide the content, through a specific service, by that service. Your logic states that by clicking on an ad, I'm buying the service to that ad simply because google (or whatever adsense type API they use) pays the site owners for providing traffic. When I watch a commercial on basic TV, am I buying access to that show? not to mention, I've only seen one or two mods that are strictly adfly links. Most have direct download mirrors. furthermore, ad.fly doesn't pay them if you have an ablock running. Are they still selling it? you gotta step up your game, son.
  16. You say you don't based on your own bias. You are legally obligated to honor each mods specific terms for distribution. CJ has every right to demand people get permission to distribute his works. I love modpacks but the terms have changed. Things are slowly becoming more centralized but there are people like you, who are dicks about stealing, holding back the bridge between modpacks and mod developers.
  17. They get around this little bit because ad.fly is not providing money for the content. it's providing money for links clicked or files served.
  18. as far as users are concerned, the changes weren't that massive.
  19. If you plan on making a public modpack, you need to get permission. In addition to not being a dick, getting and displaying your permissions means your modpack most likely doesn't have anything malicious in it. Have you seen the amount of fake mod distribution sites?
  20. In which case he needs to talk to the mod developers for permission to use their mod in his modpacks and then talk to the technic team about getting his modpack featured on the launcher.
  21. by useful you mean incredibly overpowered and unbalanced, right?
  22. First: you'll need a place to test your mod. I highly suggest MultiMC Second: once you have everything installed and configured the way you like it and without bugs, you'll need to choose something to overwrite. Yogsbox isn't supported anymore so that's probably your best bet. Third: Open the modpack.jar in the yogsbox/bin folder and delete everything. Copy over any jar mods into modpack.jar ONE AT A TIME. Start with Forge. Then any other API. Then Optifine. Then GLSL (if you use shaders). Fourth: replace the minecraft.jar in the /bin/ folder with the version you want to play. You might need to replace the whole folder depending on how far back you go. Make sure to leave modpack.jar alone. Fifth: add the rest of your mods to the mods folder. Sixth: Select the yogsbox from the menu. If it asks to update, tell it no. Seventh: Enjoy. edit: you won't be able to replace the banners. They are updated when the program starts. You'll have to actually edit the source to do that.
  23. On one of those pages, how many columns of items are there in one row of items?
  24. cookies and milk. It's classic and delicious.
  25. reinstall your OS. the problem isn't specific to minecraft. It's an issue with the way ATI handles the drivers. The only solution found that works a little over half the time is a full reinstall. Also, use a legit windows install.
