You should get on the IRC channel. Plenty of people that can help you there. Also, if you create code to look at a local source or alternative web source, you should post it. It should be noted there is another launcher in the works and that functionality might be included in that. I'm not the person to ask, though.

without technic I wouldn't be so in love with tubes and logistic pipes. never would have learned how to make awesome multi-mod builds like a super fast forestry machine with thaumcraft speedboosts. never would have learned the little amount of lua I know. probably wouldn't have figured out how to make my own modpack or become friends with engineers (seriously. they're everywhere.)

8GB is enough ram. look for about 1300mhz in speed. that should fix your issue.

this seems like a ridiculous question. They want to show themselves to be better than technic and have complete separation. Even though it's pretty much the same thing. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, it was started by technic.

a joystick is weird. You want multiple thumb controls so you can control pitch and yaw as well as direction. There is no mod but there definitely needs to be some kind of gamepad support. actually we're reaching the limit of scalability on silicon. There is research into carbon nanotubes and graphene but nothing even close to stable yet. Plus carbon nanotubes might be toxic. Expect silicon replacements and "system on a chip" between 2020 and 2025.

I know that FTB can be a bit elitist in their dealings but why not get rid of the technic launcher and focus only on making an awesome modpack used on the FTB launcher? They have created a pretty decent platform and it would probably save the technic devs a lot of resources and headache.

that card is midrange. your chip and ram are a little slow. you're probably bottlenecking at your RAM.

I had that problem. I increased the voltage and reduced GPU clocks on my card and it fixed. I was having the common ATI driver has crashed. it's weird because I'm not OC'd, I have a core 2 quad with 16GB DDR3 and a Radeon HD 6850 with a 1000W PSU. I should have more than enough power especially considering I only have 3 HDD and no optical.

with the technic launcher, anything that is supposed to go into the minecraft.jar needs to go into the modpack.jar. however, I'm pretty sure optifine is already in there.

it's already in there isn't it? if not: 1) download optifine 2) open zip 3) move all contents of zip to modpack.jar that should be it. Unless there is an incompatible mod.

Actually, as long as the mod shows it's original and enhances the game, they could easily get a derivative work copyright. This would allow them to sue. They could be allowed monetary compensation if they could prove damages. And yes, they would be opening themselves up to false claims with DMCA takedown requests. however, authors with the IP do have the right to make the request.

You have to actually apply for a copyright. What they have is called intellectual property rights. because it is an IP of a derivative work, the only legal action they have (until they actually apply for a copyright) is DMCA takedowns. That's why technic is still here.
