I see....this wasn't much of a problem for me anyways, because i do must processes through the terminal. Meh, i will try gnome again, lets see if i can get it to work this time. The last time i used gnome, when i minimized windows, they just vanished, i couldn't find where i could open them again, i just prefer unity because of how straightforward it is. here is the thing I am wondering: Why does everybody hate unity? I find it works just fine save for a few bugs, but the only thing is it can be really unstable when using compiz. is it because just everybody got used to the GNOME interface, and was like, "Changing window managers? Fuck it, i am using a different distro," or is it just coded terribly and has some major bugs I am missing?

sorry, but GLSL is incompatible with optifine, so these mods can't be used with tekkit/technic. Also, for some bizzare reason, the water shader mod is also incompatible with GLSL. Fuck knows why.

you are entirely right, the modding discussion board has turned into the board where you post, "PLZ HALP, MAH MODS NO WRK!1!111!!!11", and, "I has texture for mod, CAN YOUZ MAKES IT?!?!?!?!?". Honestly, the level of idiocracy over the whole forum is sickening. There was this one idiot that was like "can someone make a mod that adds graphics like the minecraft 2 commercial to minecraft?!?!?!?!" So i told them that it was impossible, and would destroy the rendering engine, and then they were like "NAO IT CAN BE DONE U NEVER TRIED HAVE YOU?!?!?!?!", so of course i had to rip them to shreds, and they still were like, "IF IT IS SO IMPOSSIBLE, THEN WHY R THERE SHADER MODS?!?!?!?" and then this other person came and called them an idiot and called me right, and shut them right up. This was a true stroy, i will try to find the thread if i can.

hmmm, your idea is intriguing, tell me more.(sarcasm) But that does sound great, imagine instead of survival/combat, small(for number of players), densely packed arena with tons of cover and hiding spots, and a fight to the death. and then you could have lava that comes down from the ceiling(if it is indoors) to restrict areas and make the arena even smaller as it goes on.

I am sorry, what is DDoSing? I know of DoS attacks, which are Denial of Service attacks, where the hacker sends a constant stream of broken requests that overload the server, but what is a DDoS attack?

linux is actually surprisingly good, the reason why it gets so many people saying it sucks is because (this is a direct quote I read before.): "Linux is shitty cuz it has no games and no programs work on it and it is buggy and retarded, and is only for gay nerds, LOL!!!!". most of these people are terribly uninformed, linux has a FREE equivalent to nearly every commercial program on the market now, and you just have to look around for games. if you are a beginning linux user, i would HIGHLY recommend Tremulous, it is an awesome hybrid of FPS and RTS. Plus, the community is great, the few younger players are generally more subdued than the dirty-mouthed CoD 5-year olds. On most servers, after around a day of playing on it, you pretty much know everyone on the server, so you get a closer community, and servers aren't massively different and divided, if you play on one server, you can play on any server and fit right in. I neat thing i recently noticed that I just noticed is that after every match, nearly every player spams the chat with gg, unlike CoD, where if your team wins a match, all you get is, "OMG, YOU SPAWN KILLED, H4XED, AND ALL SUCKED, FUCK YOU ALL!" and if windows does go along with the whole "app store" thing, i must find someone to release a text modification that changes the name of the app store to the crap store.

Re: Is there a version of the technic launcher that..... being paranoid over an OPEN SOURCE program is a waste of time. it would be like me thinking that using linux would cause my computer to transfer all passwords i entered to an unsecured Swedish database(no offense, Swedes), or using blender would secretly keylog and record numbers that look like credit card numbers and using them to purchase pr0n keys. Just calm down bro, you don't HAVE to enter your info for it to be stolen, i could use a few lines of code in ANY mod to covertly transfer you lastlogin file to an offshore African server(still no offense to Africans:P)
