Re: Could this remove the need for a Technic pack? on the spore thing: GTFO, EA. It would have been EASILY possible to allow for both creative and gameplay aspects of the game. Simply have a toggle when starting a new game: "Would you like the game to be Creative or Hardcore?", and just have it explain what both options are. Creative would how spore is in it's current state, just with less cartoony of graphics, and Hardcore would game the game that spore should have been. and in order to have creatures that were made for creative not be invading your hardcore save via sporepedia, there could be a flag that allows you to set whether the creature was made for creative or hardcore, and hardcore and creative creatures could end up in creative saves, but only hardcore creatures would end up in hardcore saves.

that will completely destroy windows gaming. imagine if every single indie game had to get authorized by microsoft, and then a fraction of their profits had to go to microsoft. That will certainly bring torch-wielding maniacs to their door. I am sure that if they prevent all code from running without the specail authorization code that they have to provide, most indie game devs will switch to linux.

in SMP, this is (somewhat) possible, just use a teleport pipe and chunkloader block in both worlds, but this is impossible in SSP, in SSP, the game is hardcoded so that only one world can be loaded at a time.

Re: Could this remove the need for a Technic pack? you sure? in order to create more realistic mob AI and breeding, wouldn't that require rewriting of all of the pathfinding AIs, and breeding code? then you would need an extra code for preserving genetics, and i doubt that could be written into a separate file considering the way it would need to hook onto files. and then you would also need to rewrite the mob breeding ENTIRELY, so that it allows for different genectics and mutations, without adding a separate mob for every mutation/gene combo.

if you watched the video on why flowerchild removed forge support (which was a combination of lies and propaganda), his voice indicates he is adult. a surprisingly uptight and whiny adult at that....just it is sad that there are so many whiny kids now, that if you make a complaint, people instantly brand you as a whiny 5-year old, even if it is a valid complaint. i client and host at the same time on an already weak laptop, but i end up being the only one who lags. anyway, here are my system specs: Brand: Acer model: Aspire 4730z RAM: 2 GB DDR2, with approximately 20 gigs of swap file (slow as fuck, but helps on intensive programs) video card: intel onboard chipset. nuff said. Processor: intel celeron 575 hard drive: i think it is 220 gig, can't remember.

Re: Could this remove the need for a Technic pack? that is not possible with the minecraft engine, it would require TOTAL rewrite of every single mob code. and then it would turn into BTW with incompatibility, and eventually become incompatible with minecraft.

this is what happens every time in the modding community, a modpack group who got no permission makes an agreement with the creator, and then suddenly, someone says, "OMG, I H4XED THEIR EMAILS, AND THEY SAID THEY HATE EACH OTHER!" and then total chaos erupts

yeah, the wiki is pretty entertaining though, so it shouldn't be too hard. I have a trench filled with water circling my dwarfs now, with a single entrance. EDIT: all of my dwarfs are hiding in their burrow, what do i do to get them out? EDITEDIT: figured out what burrows are for, DERP!

you must be one of those people, where instead of associating pictures with words, you associate words with pictures. IE, when someone says chair, you think of a picture of a chair. You probably also mostly think in pictures. It doesn't bother me it all, because i ALWAYS think in words, when I don't, I get confused and end up being like a computer that you gave a command to add 1, then subtract 1 till it gets 2. Some people I have met the first time when I was really confused over something thought I was mentally handicapped, as when i am really confused, I can barely speak in full sentences.
