The main reason RedPower replaces BC is because, BC Pipes are terrible compared to the RedPower transport system. The only good thing about BC now is the builder and filler.

You can, but it would take ages. You can't just flip a ship around and land it, it has to 'hook' into the planets orbit and slowly make its way down. This step takes tonnes of engine Fuel and RCS duct fuel. The best way to do this is to first build a base on the moon by using a space elevator and use the new moon base as a launch area which would save fuel. Once that step is complete you can make a Mars base and transport things between them. This is just a small summary of what will happen 500-900 years from now depending on how much stupider the governments of Earth become.

It may never move past 1.2.5 or it will be even better after the update, nobody knows what the hell Mojang is going to put into the game. We shall see in 1.4, but as for 1.3 I do not think we will see a Technic/Tekkit.

The last good update was 1.7.3, Now these new features are just cheesy addons that are only fun to play around with once or twice. They should just make the game more mod friendly and add things that bring adventure to the table. One suggestion would be something like an abandoned mineshaft with dead miners in it or a spider queen in the mineshaft. For the strongholds, we could have statues; some are mobs some are not mobs. For SMP, make a 'party' or 'group' system so you and your friends can party up and see each others HP/hunger/current items, in a small little HUD in the corner.
