We will let you know if an update will break your saves. One of the joys of the launcher is that we can push bugfixes out using it. If you're not sure about updating, just check out the mainsite blog to see if we've posted anything about breaking saves or the like. It's usually just small things to improve performance or fix issues.

NEI handles invulnerability and flying. Have you not explored the NEI options when you open your inventory? There's all sorts of things there to play with.

I see you're running 32 bit. The max you can allocate is 1GB of ram. Are you trying to allocate more then that? Also is 450 how much ram is being used, or the MAX amount that can be used? There is a significant difference. Also do the standard check to make sure your version of java is correct and up to date because it's good practice.

It wouldn't be possible without re-writing and producing our own version of minecraft itself since it's just the way the game handles mods. We might run into some legal issues and I don't think Agelian is quite up to the task of re-making minecraft. Oh god I shouldn't have said that out loud, there's no telling what he will and won't do!!!

There's a mod that lets you rename yourself in game. Have you checked out if that mod works for SMP?

We're hoping to add a little functionality for that in the future too. A "Custom" option in the dropdown that you can mod yourself. It's on the list.

It wouldn't be necessary. The forums are covered by the side ads and are only a fraction of our bandwidth use. As for the ad, we don't even go near those kinds of ads. It would be the same style as those that we already have. Relevant ads that don't jump around or shake or play sound or lock your screen or try to trick you etc. Just the kind that just sit there quietly offering you mostly video game and computer related temptations.

It will auto limit you if you have either a 32 bit system or 32 bit java. Make double sure that your minecraft isn't using 32 bit JAVA.

You may just be confused. The allocation of ram sets the MAX amount of ram. You should never actually have to use that much. If it's running correctly it should be saying that you are using around that number 247MB and it should be a percent of 1GB.

Tekkit and Technic have their own seperate installs in the .techniclauncher folder. If you switch between them nothing bad will happen, because they're seperate, BUT you wont be able to use saves from one in the other as they'll be incompatable, and you'll have to install your texture packs in both. Any of that answer your question? You were kinda vague.

There are ads on the forums to make them free to use. They're targeted ads so they're usually about video games and computer stuff. Although before I turned my adblocker back on I was getting baby items on kijiji adds. Never a flawless system. It may have just been an idea at one point, and we were never intending to put ads anywhere but the website, but it's looking more and more like we might actually HAVE to put an ad on the launcher. We were getting 1 Terabyte of bandwidth use a week earlier and that amount spiked recently. Our server wont be able to keep up for much longer, and we're already using free mirrors to load balance. They probably wont put up with us for long. On top of that we're doing something very soon that's going to shoot traffic through the roof. All signs say we're going to have to upgrade servers AGAIN. It seems like people are more or less ok with the idea of a small ad on the launcher, and I hope that's the case because it may make or break technic. We're of course willing to keep paying for everything out of our pockets but our pockets are only so deep before we hit the bottom and pull out lint. We're never going to ask for donations ever, since what we do relies on the hard work of modders to continue and they deserve all your donations. We would much rather just have passive ads that don't force the users to part with anything, and just help us with costs rather then have people offload cash on us. You know even if we did accept donations, we'd run into a problem when we'd try to send the excess money to the modders and some of them would send it back saying they don't want our dirty money. ::)

32 bit systems CANNOT make use of that much ram. You need to upgrade to a 64 bit OS or you will never ever get the full potential of your RAM. You are sabotaging yourself, this has nothing to do with the launcher. Also as an added note, minecraft runs worse with more ram allocated. It's actually better to keep it at 1gig or under.

What the hell are you talking about? You bought minecraft through some website other then Mojangs? Why in the hell would you do that? That's just asking to get scammed. You could have just used paypal like pieiscool said. AND why exactly are you talking about pirating games? I thought it was pretty clear that was a no-no here.
