When did you download the Launcher? If it was before the weekend, I would recommend reinstalling. I remember KakerMix said that there was a mistake with one of the files that has been fixed with a recent update.

He doesn't use Safari either... I think he said he uses Mercury (which has a built in Adblocker)

Well, you should update your Java to the latest update version (7u9) but this is unlikely the cause of your problem. I will take a closer look in a bit.

Just so you know, telling people to bump is a bad idea (and against the rules). As for the error, double check to make sure both your Java and Operating System are using the correct bit (either 64 or 32). Also, double check to make sure there aren't any extra folders that the launcher created outside of the .techniclauncher folder, if there are delete them. Finally, if you haven't already, try running it as an administrator.

You should post your own bug report so that we get all of the info we need to properly help you. Just click the button that says "Submit Bug Report" and fill out the info. I will take a look when you post it.

I don't think that Slowpoke telling pahimar to update has any bearing oh the speed with which it is updated. pahimar has been working on EE3 for a while and has been planning on making it compatible with 1.4. I fail to see how slowpoke could influence anything.

OP: Turn off AVG and redownload That specific problem was resolved. It was happening because a file was put in the wrong place/named the wrong thing, so the launcher was unable to locate the correct file. There are numerous different reasons for the md5 error, that specific one is no longer happening. If you are getting that error, you should post a bug report with a log so that we can help you.

Update your Java to version 7u9 and turn off Norton. Then redownload the Launcher

I believe he simply added comment tags to the code. All he would need to do to reactivate it is remove those tags.
