Are you having an issue with the launcher? What are you *actually* having problems with? The answer to those two questions are the answers to your own.

If it is giving you a Gzip error, you have to delete the .dat folder associated with the mod that is giving you an error. Also, this really should have been a bug report and bumping threads is against the rules.

Delete your .techniclauncher folder and download and use the Linux / .Jar version.

Use the Linux / .Jar download.

Your Java is out of date, but McAfee is still blocking the download. Disable your firewall as well.

You have to disable your antivirus and firewall and redownload it. AVG is blocking the files from being downloaded. You could always get rid of AVG as it is a steaming pile and get Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast. They are both free and don't horribly suck like AVG.
