None of the modpacks will launch, not even Vanilla.
BLAZE MkIV replied to burkeryan7's question in Technic Launcher
The launcher should really check and warn Mac users that they don't support Java 1.7. Vanilla minecraft manages to but not any of the launchers. -
Why is it that vanilla Minecraft works just fine with the latest Java but none of these java launchers work?

Friend constantly getting disconnected on my server
BLAZE MkIV replied to Bentley's topic in Tekkit Lite Discussion
I've had people from 30 miles away have problems staying connected. So it's not a function of distance at all. Turns out most "routers" for home use don't live up to the name and need to be rebooted fairly often if you try to do things like gaming with them. -
Auto sort macerator buffer question

Like coming back from caving and dumping several bags into the system. -
Auto sort macerator buffer question
BLAZE MkIV replied to bradbrochill's topic in Tekkit Lite Discussion
I get that but won't the quicksort module never stop ejecting the same ore over and over till the macerator is empty? Though some gates and pipe wire could be used to disable the module? -
Auto sort macerator buffer question
BLAZE MkIV replied to bradbrochill's topic in Tekkit Lite Discussion
Won't that constantly cycle items out of then back into the input chest if the macerator has a different kind of ore? -
Top landmarks work, bottom LM don't work though?
BLAZE MkIV replied to dzekovic's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
I've had the best luck with landmarks for a box by only placing 4, a corner and the three sides directly connected to it and then only right click on the corner landmark. -
Actually you need 1 for redstone chipsets and 1 for everything else. Its the massive bank of lasers that gets expensive.

Auto sort macerator buffer question
BLAZE MkIV replied to bradbrochill's topic in Tekkit Lite Discussion
My preferred setup is a little more complex. I have an input chest and a sorting machine. Then from the the sorting machine I sort them into the macerator or the furnace or back to the chest overflow chest. In that physical order. Then I have a retriever sucking from those three into the input chest. Finally there is a separate colored line for ingots to leave the system. What happens is the retriever controls how fast the system runs. It doesn't pull new ores or dusts till the macerator and furnace are empty. But anything coming out of the macerator usually goes straight into the furnace. -
He meant that the labels on the barrels often don't update when you access them via pipes. Manually checking the item count makes it update. Is there a retriever in you're system anywere?

Using Pneumatic Tubes.. without timers? (Possible?)
BLAZE MkIV replied to Vaygrim's topic in Tekkit Lite Discussion
Use the autarchic gate to activate the timer that controls the filter so its only running when there are items in the ender chest? So it may be a high speed setting but it only ticks infrequently? -

Automatic book enchanting factory woes

Spawners and dark rooms are both sensitive to player proximity. Check the minecraft wiki for details. -

Is this really a problem?

I would have it use water at a fixed rate even if the blocks are already hydrated. I would also not include a control mechanism in it, like IRL make it controlled by the pump sending it water. That should simplify the block allot right? The tricky part would be handling over watering. Store it in the farm block data? Is there a way to trap reeds check for adjacent water?
-
And I just listed a bunch of ways sprinklers / irrigation work IRL that could be applicable in game. It's a sprinkler not rocket science. But there is already a mod for that.
-
Well IRL: Plants grow better when you water them regularly. Some crop plants if fact require regular watering. Sprinklers also aren't an obstruction to movement like a hole in the ground. Industrial sprinklers can cover huge areas.
-
I'm going to assume you either know that or are capable of looking it up on Wikipedia. So there must be some kind of point your trying to make.
-
You want me to describe the functionality of a water sprinkler? Or the ramifications of localized on demand rain?
-
So I was thinking about all the farming type mods after setting up a basic farm in my hardcore world. There's something missing for all these technical farming mods. Water sprinklers.

Water in a pipe to water in a bucket

Exactly just replace the deployer with the accumulator. Your server admin will thank you. -

Use the control tab to tell it which side to automatically dump stuff out. -
Redstone Pneumatic Pipe Signal Distance?
BLAZE MkIV replied to Stidrvr's topic in Tekkit Lite Discussion
So your saying I should go though all the effort of making two types of wire and then use 2 pieces of them when I could just use one piece of redstone? Redstone that I have crazy amounts of? -
Redstone Pneumatic Pipe Signal Distance?
BLAZE MkIV replied to Stidrvr's topic in Tekkit Lite Discussion
I haven't tested recently but I have seen in the past a difference if the first connection is redstone dust instead of wire.
