  1. Here isn't the right place to post this. Now you "no".
  2. Amazing what googling "java dutch tutorial" will get you. ^_^
  3. http://balusc.blogspot.com/2006/04/java-tutorial.html?m=1 I don't read dutch, so I can't guarantee it's accuracy, but it claims to be a dutch language java tutorial.
  4. Thanks again. I can't wait to see the full texture pack you're making. Keep up the good work.
  5. You can also use the jetpack/electric jetpack or the inert carpet.
  6. Yeah, I feel silly. At the end of the function where it checks if it's allowed to make glass, I had return true instead of return false. T_T Fixed and reuploaded. Thanks for finding that and let me know if you spot any other weirdness.
  7. ...I may have forgotten to test for that. Without checking at the moment, it's probably because glass is metadata 0, giving you stained glass with metadata 0, which is black. I'll check and fix it in a hour or two.
  8. Heh, whoops. Edited.
  9. Okay, 1.3.2 uploaded and an upgraded version of 1.2.5 uploaded. Texture for the upgraded Glass Furnace and for the GUIs by Lethosos. Glass Furnace now needs both an adjacent lava source block and to be fed mobs to run. Base Glass Furnace can hold 100 mob soul units or whatever you want to call them(get 1 unit from hostile mobs or players, 5 from animals and 10 from baby animals), and takes 10 seconds to run. Upgraded version gets can hold 200 units, gets double the amount when you feed it and takes 5 seconds to run. To get the upgraded version, completely fill the soul buffer, put 5 lava source blocks next to it and feed it a baby animal.
  10. Don't double post, you can just edit the first post. In general with technic, whenever the instructions for a mod say "add this to minecraft.jar", you need to add it to modpack.jar instead. Hope that helps. Forestry is indeed not included in technic anymore. The download link if you want to install it is on the forestry wiki, in the top left corner. If you can't find it, go to the forestry thread on MCF and scroll down, there's a link. For both of these, make sure you grab the version for minecraft 1.2.5, not the version for 1.3.2.
  11. He probably will. Then he'll release a video which is mostly him cackling evilly.
  12. Don't forget for mapmakers. Not sure if you've seen sethbling's TF2 in minecraft, but it's pretty cool.
  13. Ooh, very cool. I wish the forum told me when people edit their posts, as I just noticed this now... T_T And yeah, the nether colored block and GUI is perfect, as is the fuel. The flame and progress bar are also nice touches. Edit: And just a heads up, I felt my earlier glass texture was a bit too opaque, so I took it to 65 % opacity. Easy enough copy/paste for the terrain, which I just did, but just so you know for the CTM textures.
  14. Yeah, probably won't be doing one way glass. Anyway, as an update, since I have a little time before the textures are done, I decided to backport the new things to the 1.2.5 version. Just a bunch of copy-pasta for the most part, besides dealing with changed MCP names, so no big deal.

    BoxGod - RTS Mod

Well, your wiki has no actual organization, or internal links on the home page apparently. Only 7 pages total as well, with theoretical content half borrowed from EE and half from the insane ramblings of the mad arab Abdul Alhazred. I'm particularly amazed by the asterisks which don't actually point to anything, as in "valuable enough*", but then there's no matching asterisk explaining what valuable enough is.
  16. I have a stained glass mod down in the modder's metropolis section, you could take a look at that. Only default 16x textures though...
  17. No. Glass isn't transparent in the same way the ice is. You'd have to use something that renders on the alpha pass as well. However, I think ice is the only solid block in default technic that does. The others are things like water, nether portal blocks, etc... Basically anything that you can't see when placed behind ice.
  18. Hmm, perhaps I should have been more clear. I blame phone keyboards for encouraging terse posts. I agree that technic exists mainly for the untechnical. However, what I was referring to when I said we shouldn't cater to them was the fact that technic has the mods it has in it. That's all. There are suggestion threads, sure, but it was not meant to be, and I doubt it ever will be, a carbon copy of dire's pack. As to the argument that there should be a whole other pack option for his set of mods, that would be a bunch of work for the devs here when there are other packs out there already whose only purpose is to do just that. The type of people I dont think we should have to cater to are the ones who think that technic is an excuse on their part to put out absolutely no effort at all and still have their every desire granted. Clarity, it saves lives!
  19. Yeah, I'm not sure we want to be catering to the type of people who can't follow dire's instructions. He makes it painfully simple.
  20. Oh, cool, I just looked that up and yeah, that would be awesome for the glass. Edit: I just thought though... if it's too much trouble to do it for every color of glass, it's fine.
  21. I'm not sure how many of this threads pages your read, but I did get the panes working. On a release note, I'll post something up as soon as I get some textures for the new block. Here's a little changelog in advance, in case anyone has any suggestions. The Glass Furnace now requires both a lava source block next to it and ground up animals to work. I can hold a maximum of 100 units of ground up animals. You can upgrade the Glass Furnace to the Sated Glass Furnace by completely filling it's internal buffer of ground up animals and putting 5 lava source blocks next to it, then feeding it one more baby animal. The Sated Glass Furnace has double the ground up animal capacity, each thing it eats provides double value and it makes stained glass twice as fast. Still only three block IDs! The Glass furnace now uses metadata to track facing, on/off state and whether it's upgraded or not. 4 directions X 2 states X 2 blocks = all the metadata, but it works.
  22. Just the 16x textures should be fine (I assume that's what you're talking about). Though if you wanted to make some higher resolution textures as part of a texture pack, I have no problem with that.
  23. So, I posted here a while ago asking if someone could make some textures for my mod, and morton00000 was nice enough to oblige me. Time marches on however, and now my mod has a few new features in need of textures. So I come to you good people once again. Here's the files with some placeholder textures I slapped together: For the top one, that set of 6 textures on the end needs to be an evil version of the 6 before them, which I approximated by making them darker This is an alternate texture for the same block created by feeding it lots and lots of baby animals and then it explodes into it's new form, so eyes, bits of bone and fur, blood, streaks of lava, whatever seems appropriate would be good. The second one is the gui for said block. This needs a better texture for the beige thing with the black dots. That bit represents the amount of ground up animals stored in the internal buffer, and it's overlaid in that slot to the left of the item slots. The top part of the bar is always displayed and rises in the gui as the buffer becomes more full. I'll say again, ground up animal bits, so a somewhat grim theme as described above would not go amiss. As usual, all I can offer is your name in the credits and the various threads where I post this, but I would be very grateful if someone could make this, as I think my skills in the texture making department are pretty obviously not so great.
  24. I just tested this, and that's sort of the opposite of what was happening. Those two machines will attempt to keep their internal buffers full, yes, but only when it's missing at least one packet worth, that is 32 EU. This was tested using an EU detector cable. For the luminator, which consumes .25 EU/t, or 5 EU/s, the cable lit up about every slightly less than 7 seconds, meaning it had time to use up almost 35 EU before more came through the wire. Similar results for the cropmatron, which uses 1 EU/t, or 20 EU/s. The cable lit about every slightly less than two seconds, plenty of time to use up at least 32 EU before it got more. I didn't test this with longer wires though, which could have an effect given the lag between request and receive. Be right back. Edit: Stuck a 38 block long glass fiber cable in there. Absolutely no change in behavior. Final conclusion: Machines only appear to request power if there's room in their internal buffer for a full packet. Not tested with machines that take a higher packet size than 32, but I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader.
  25. Water, 35 liters. Carbon, 20 kilograms. Ammonia, 4 liters. Lime, 1.5 kilograms. Phosphorous, 800 grams. Salt, 250 grams. Saltpeter, 100 grams. Sulfur, 80 grams. Fluorine, 7.5 grams. iron, 5 grams. silicon, 3 grams, and 15 other elements in trace amounts. That doesn't seem too difficult...
