  1. From what I gather, you named your user profile something that included special characters. Right? One that shouldn't break anything, windows has been setup the sanitize usernames/passwords of system special characters since the beginning. For another you can just create a new user profile and migrate all your stuff to it. Computer name shouldn't affect anything either. And even if it did, renaming it clears the old name out completely. Active directory is very picky about computer names, so a name change has to clear out all the remnants of the old name. So, make sure your computer's name is something sane, create a new account with a sane name (users in the control panel) and move all your files over to it, and if it still doesn't work then reinstall java. If you claim it still doesn't work after all that then I'd have to suspect you of trying to get us to find you a way around the launcher and it's legit account requirements.
  2. Very interesting plugin, I'll have to check it out. I believe I read the bukkit team is helping mojang with the new client/server setup, maybe that means the 1.3 server will support a plugin system by default.
  3. Just imagine demoncrusher as a bartender and "A sad and jaded man" is the name of a drink. Then it works. What would a drink called "A sad and jaded man" be made of?
  4. Past year? Unless you're buying full rights to the source code (and even then...), software has always been a license. If I buy something it's my legal right to do anything with it that doesn't break any laws. Software is a license with a fuckton of rules and limitations imposed by the End User Licensing Agreement, making it against contract to do a lot of things that are normally legal (like reselling it, taking it apart, ect...).
  5. Step 1: Read all the stickies. Step 2: ??? Step 3: Profit! from not being a complete idiot...
  6. I tweaked my color file to help differentiate certain colors. I spent the first month of play wondering what the hell the wiki was talking about when it stated assigned rooms would show up in a different color than available rooms.
  7. CC 1.32 fixes the infinite threads bug, so it's more stable. Dunno what you mean by crashing when it leaves a loaded area, they shut down for me. If that shutdown is a problem you just have to code a good startup script to compensate. Good gps net set to autostart with the correct coordinates, create a startup script on each turtle that sends it back to it's origin point if it loads then restart it's work program.
  8. I'm working on a mod to add the forestry functionality to IC2. Hopefully I'll have enough time this weekend to get a preliminary version out.
  9. Mods aren't employees, they aren't paid. You have not bought any goods or services that entitle you to any particular level or service. They are volunteers who try to keep this place useful, and repeating the same information 50 times a day because 40 new users can't be bothered to follow the forum rules is counter productive and clutters. They have no duty or obligation to hand hold people who refuse to do anything for themselves. And yes, I know my math. Some people are just too damn thick to get it the first, second, or third time something is spelled out to them.
  10. Well, ender chests don't do liquids or power, and have a very limited inventory. And like I said, not worth it until 1.3 arrives and we know if keeping the nether loaded will be possible.
  11. What about a set of pipes that records input events to a list, with the relevant data and time between events. Then the output pipe will pull the first entry from the list, send it out, and sleep for however long it was between items. Toggle the output pipe with a redstone signal. Not realtime, but it would be an interesting solution to the problem. And you could use it to create an inventory storage loop, with a CC computer to track the inventory. Though until 1.3 arrives it's not really worth pursuing.
  12. Actually it's camoflage to protect him from his natural predators, Pygmy Mines. Native the the vast rainforests of New England, the Pygmy Mine has evolved a chromatic filter over it's eyes to filter out certain wavelengths of light to better see it's prey. Jakj's color is identical to that of the New English Cyprus Bitter-Olive tree and is one of the wavelengths the Pygmy Mine's eyes filter out, which renders him invisible to them and safe.
  13. She went to the california school of cullinary arts in pasadena, great instruction but the administration was extremely predatory. They talked her out of applying for financial aid because it would delay her entry. They got sued for it, bastards deserve it because my wife came from a very poor family and is frankly too trusting. It was a dayz server I know that, no clue which one. Doubt I'll try it myself, persistent characters with player run servers is a recipe for disaster. Besides, I've got diablo 3 that just finished downloading.
  14. I had a taint spot start next to my local millenaire village, I'm currently checking if you can half the spread with a cobble barrier as was suggested on the thaum2 wiki. Really easy to setup, philosopher's stone at full charge and circle around the taint turning the land to cobble.
  15. My brother tried it, he said when he was actually able to get the game's network to work he was repeatedly killed, resurected, and killed again by one guy in the server. The networking seems to be the worst, we play minecraft, L4D2, battlefront 2, portal 2, and a couple other games all the time without lag. He tries to find an arma2 server and nothing is below 200ms ping. My wife went to culinary school. Holycrap her food is good but jobs are terrible and the loan repayments on her $60k tuition really hurt.
  16. Well, completely different actually... The idea is to have the mod keep a simple database of chunk groups. When someone uses the prospector tools it first checks to see if the area has been checked before, if not then run the deposit generation code. If the group has been checked, look up the vein info on the table and return the results. This isn't a block finder. All information is pulled from a list of deposits the mod has generated, and if the deposit is mined out then it will still tell you a deposit was found in the area. Checking an area would report in the past tense, so if a vein has been mined out it's still a valid observation that a vein was discovered.
  17. One train of thought: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IHaveBoobsYouMustObey
  18. Turn on item IDs in NEI, you can see durability as an actual number and watch it change.
  19. Weird Al enough? Or do we need to bring out the Gaelic Storm?
  20. Ya'll denser than aunt jeanie-mae's jesus day fruitcake, aintcha? Now see here, there's a perfectly good thread for all these here suggestions and if ya were to post there instead it'd keep this place a mighty tidy place. Ya hear? http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,1334.msg68647.html#new
  21. Now now, you all know tekkit is the sole and complete property of kakermix, every little bit and byte of it, including all derivative works and servers and computers that run it. Don't worry benze, kaker will unban you as soon as his Tekkit Master Console starts up. No need to return the items, it's the other person's fault for not protecting it better.
  22. Is that what they're calling it these days? Back in college we just called it smokin a joint.
  23. I dunno, I think the topic of british royalty deserves a chance before going back to discussing minecraft. I'm wondering when the queen will come out and admit she's an immortal vampire.
  24. Ah hell, just go with the whole thing. http://www.sacred-texts.com/neu/mphg/mphg.htm
