  1. Low tech way is to put the ad banner over some text that chastizes someone for blocking ads. Ad loads, it gets covered. Ad doesn't load they can see the message. For flash games I believe they just have the ad load code in the game itself and display the warning if the ad server fails to respond. Same. Well, here and one webcomic that kindly asked people to turn adblockers off.
  2. Yup, makes it easy to keep an IC2 mining working when you stick a pump next to it. Just chuck a couple stacks of empty cells in the chest touching the pump and your miner can drill through the ocean and suck up an entire underground lava lake.
  3. Something I learned last night. If you end up having to reinstall your java SDK because of a type error on recompile, it's best to just redo your decompile fresh. Once you replace your java SDK it changes the MD5 sums, so if it bothers to recompile correctly it will assume every class has changed and needs to be sent out during reobfuscation. And you'll be picking through every aah, aaf, aha, ect... class minecraft has looking for your client files. The server portion won't even bother recompiling.
  4. Skip the buckets: BC pump to a tank. IC2 pump on top of the tank. Chest next to the IC2 pump full of empty cells. I don't think it works to have the ender chest directly beside the pump, but you can use RP filters or BC piping to ferry the empty/filled cells between the ender chest and the normal one.
  5. I would guess it's loading before IC2 does, so the macerator recipe inits are failing. Just make sure it loads last and everything should work fine.
  6. That is odd. It might be that I used window's built in zip archive setup to replace the .class files as I recompiled them after bugfixes. I probably should just regenerate the zip file with 7zip right before release. Release two uploaded. Fixed bugs, added flax and torchweed, used the new sprites I Don't Know made, and turned the charcoal brick into an actual block that burns like netherrack. Not bad for a couple hours work with my wife yelling at me to be more social with my family while they're in town... Edit: Forgot to mention, no SMP support yet, haven't had time to track down what's needed for that.
  7. Left timer is your 5 minute timer, right timer is the 20 minute timer. White cable pulses whenever there is a change. Magenta is on for 20 minutes and off for 5. Lime is on for 5 minutes and off for 20.
  8. Seating the ram, processor, and heat sink can be a bit hard and dangerous expensive if you get it wrong. Getting the case front panel buttons/lights connected can be a real pain too. But most of the physical building is pretty easy. Making sure what you bought plays nice together is rather hard. Making sure the processor, motherboard, and ram are all compatible is a pain. As is making sure your power supply not only can cover your needs but also has all the needed connectors. Bottom line: If you're asking this question then you need experienced supervision. Bribe a geekier friend or see if you can bribe a local repair shop to supervise your choices and build. Who knows, if you're still in highschool it may lead to a part time job. Or there's always checking your local college for an A+ certification class. That can be a nice bonus on a resume as well.
  9. What's the inside of the ftt.zip file look like?
  10. Yeah. Any errors in your modloader log?
  11. Toggle latch, one timer on each side with their outputs wired to the toggle input. Set one timer to 5 minutes, the other to 20. Only one timer is active at a time and when it finishes it's countdown it flips the toggle, turning itself off and the other timer on. Just feed off whatever side gives you the time you want.
  12. What version of technic are you using? This is made from IC2 v1.95 and I've only tested it with the latest technic dev build. Oh, and sorry Yuuko, yes it's just drop into \mods. I set all the default item IDs to use free ones in technic dev build.
  13. Hrm, I'll have to look into how to make something network then. Yay for long weekend. And I Don't Know on the IC2 forums just posted a new sprite sheet. Yay for nice people helping make my terrible art hackjob look better.
  14. http://www.flavorwire.com/291538/beautiful-abandoned-train-stations-from-all-over-the-world?all=1 Lovely architecture, and some good inspiration for a railcraft station.
  15. If it gets deleted I'm just going to recreate it. Happens again, I email alblaka and let him know that I am not being allowed to follow his rules and the mod will be hosted on here from then on. I don't agree with Alblaka's rather heavy handed rules about having to host the mod on the IC2 forums, but I respect him and will follow his wishes to the best of my ability. I will not however allow my little bit of work be silenced because some moderator is butt hurt about technic existing.
  16. Theoretical: Piston pull block drop into a 1x1x2tall hole made of obsidian. Point a RP2 deployer at each of the blocks that make the cage and one more to cover the top. Keep them filled Use a timer to trigger them all as quickly as possible, starting as soon as someone falls into the trap. Run uninsulated HV cable next to it (only need 1 or 2 sections really), fed by a couple MFSU's or a MK5 reactor, voltage stepped up to max. Enjoy. If the sound of 10 deployers triggering 5 times a second doesn't kill em, the HV leakage will. Yes, I am evil.
  17. Thanks for popping in jakj, always nice to have some support against the jackasses. And sorry kaker, you're right, no bukkit means no tekkit. Forgot about that. I'll look into bukkit porting it when I have some time this weekend. Fun engine to putz around in. Sadly what little time I have to work on it only produced a grapple hook about 4 years ago. I have so many ideas for it, but no real time with my gaming addiction... I'm kinda hoping this modding will give me a kick in the arse and get me focused on torque again. And IC2 crops are worth checking out. It's really easy to get your first farm setup with it, and it grows faster than normal plants. Plus if you work at it you can get iron and gold out of it pretty easily. Just requires a hell of a lot of luck (believe me, I've seen the code, cropcrossing is 99.9% luck getting anything new).
  18. Got the first release of my mod finished. For now it merely adds cactus, mushrooms, sticks/planks/logs and apples as IC2 crops, and a way to compress charcoal into a more energy dense fuel. Future work will hopefully add a block that auto-harvests IC2 crops and a replacement for electric engines. Tested in latest technic dev build, though it might work in tekkit as it's just items for now. As it's an IC2 addon I'm posting it there to comply with Alblaka's rules. Thread is found here: http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=6395&pageNo=1
  19. http://games.slashdot.org/story/12/05/23/217204/minecraft-mod-adds-emulated-6502-processor Slashdot ran a story about the latest redpower2 release. That's a couple scoops of bragging rights for her.
  20. Hi, I'm Neowulf, and I'm an alcho... Oops, wrong meeting.
  21. MFSU -> glass fibre -> energy link. Electrical engines are only nice because they're throttled to 6EU/t. For a quarry or other similar machine an energy link will work just fine.
  22. 32 next month. Already tapping into that old geezer rage whenever some little shit who's younger than my username tries acting important and telling me what to do.
  23. Install something free then. Avast and MS security essentials are regarded highly on these boards.
  24. First off, every week someone new comes onto these forums trying to ask/beg/plead/demand/threaten/trick the technic team for a way to keep playing technic without paying for minecraft. Many have some sob story about how the launcher just won't work for them no matter what anyone does. Most of them end up taking the exact same tone as you are right now, namely "Why aren't you giving me a way around it? I'm important, cater to my whims NOW." Also, there is no way for anyone to check if you actually purchased minecraft or not. All we have is your word and so far all you've posted is asking for a way around the launcher, just like every other pirate. So telling me to "Check, before you speak." just comes across as "Shut up, you horrid little man. You should just trust everything I say without question." Not that it matters, but when I read your posts I hear Lady Cassandra's voice. It fits nicely. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassandra_%28Doctor_Who%29
  25. Take all your files, back them up. Run sysprep on the machine (look it up). Once restarted, give it a sane name for the computer and profile. Sysprep completely obliterates all trace remnants of a computer's previous identity. If that doesn't work then you screwed something else up and it's not related to your computer/user identity. Also, this will work. http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,7846.0.html The fact you admit to pirating windows plus the rather snotty tone of your last line just stinks of "So what if I didn't pay for minecraft. I wanna play technic anyway, gimme a way to bypass the launcher now!" But hey, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.
