Network TV is depressing, all the geek channels have devolved into Fratguy-TV. Even cartoon network spends more time on live action movies than cartoons last I checked... Anyway, yeah, I have high hopes for my daughter. I got her a nerf gun, she loves it more than her dollies.

Didn't think about that. I'm guessing there's atleast one or two of those items that use a direct call on the block you point at instead of a projectile of some kind. Projectile based effects might be protected against by creating a forcefield-type block that deletes all projectile entities that collide with it. But anything that relies on you being in range to target a block by player sight would be problematic.

The IC2 API exposes a simple bit of code that lets you drain charge from an armor piece to run an electric tool from. It wouldn't be hard to repurpose it for a quantum destroyer sword. And triggering EE items off shouldn't be too hard either, just search the inventories of player's in range and flip the item around with the off state item. I'll look into these once I'm at a good point with for the trees, I already had an idea for a turtle emp block to protect areas from CC based griefing.

What do you mean by fully functional? The NEI cheat is a glitch that allows players to trick the server into giving them saved inventories. Without the server side part of the mod, the server just gives them a funny look when they try the cheat. The core part of NEI on the clients still functions, which is a list of all items their client has installed through mods and the recipes for them. That you cannot change, at all. No point in it anyway, unless you think people knowing how to craft stuff is cheating. Also, what do you mean by reloaded? Do you mean you restarted your server, or did you do exactly what a dozen posts on this board tell you NOT to do and have used the /reload command?

Try using letters instead of the special characters in the recipe layout. Sorry, a bit sick right now so my brain no worky fully.

Yeah, the color API is used for colored parsing bundled cables easier. Output of colored text was in at one point but dan removed it due to string length issues. He never went back to fix the problem leading some to believe he prefers monochrome.

If you mod the server to support colored text in CC then everyone who joins your server will have to use the mod too. Color is one of the most popular suggestions over on the CC forums, and yet not a word from dan on it, just forum regulars telling people it's been suggested before.

Still awesome in my opinion. Theoretically someone could make a CC addon that acted like the monitor block and add a custom renderer to display youtube videos on commands from a CC computer. Synchronize the load/play/stop commands and timing between clients and the server, and you could just let the clients do the heavy bandwidth work, saving the server. Ingame display of video (which is a dynamic texture) is something I've researched on and off with the torque game engine. Though it's well outa my league for java right now (and probably ever).

Yes and no. What I'm referring to is the secret program they added with monitors. It's ascii starwars, and yes it does work in SMP. It works just like any other monitor program, so it could be repurposed to display other ascii animations. And there's a couple converters out there that turn video into ascii art animations.

Eh, I love the things. They build me safe tunnels through the nether, and punch holes down so my pumps can get at the sweet lava without risking my own hide. Recently 4 of them cleared out a 32x32 area of ground down to bedrock, then built a cobble wall all the way up to elevation 250. They dance for me, play music, and show me starwars on a screen bigger than my real apartment. Turtles are my most trusted minions. I love them so.

Turtles can mine and place standard blocks. I haven't actually tested but they should work for rubber saplings. If not then it's still just a matter of having the turtle trigger a deployer kept full of saplings. And why disable CC? Turtles are superior to every other automining setup, and with monitors you can watch a movie in game.

Now don't quote me on this, but I do believe the could possibly be a list of some sort on these forums, containing information pertaining to those server things you desire. Though know the journey shall be long and perilous, and you will quite possibly lose many of your sherpas along the way to danger and fear (Very skittish, those sherpas), but the end of your journey promises a veritable utopia of servers to choose from.

Screw enderchests, a mod chest block that spawns nasties next to whoever tries to open it would be an excellent thief trap.

CC mining turtle. 1 dirt block with a collector setup around it. Turtle has 1 rubber tree log in the first slot and a stack of saplings in the second slot, placed 1 block above the dirt and facing it from the side. Turtle places a sapling then enters a wait mode, every 15 seconds have it compare the block infront of it (where it placed the sapling) with the rubber tree log. Compare matches, start a logging program to work it's way up, havest all the wood, and head back down. Turtle drops all but it's saplings and 1 log then starts waiting again. I'll try whipping a program to do that up tonight.
