  1. I didn't know about the dragon. I've been keeping away from spoilers as much as possible, and only just got to the purple bunny's sudoku challenge.
  2. Hey! Spoilers! Now the downloader is completely ruined for me. Thanks a lot.
  3. Logistics pipes? No, this was on my tekkit server.
  4. I usually dig my way down to the bedrock and start clearing out a large area, so tin is pretty common for me while copper is rare. Of course once you get either a quarry or an IC2 miner going you don't really have to worry about either.
  5. For real full automation you need either a coblestone generator and macerator to give you sand, or a mushroom farm to take wheat and seeds to give you waste dirt. Making fertilizer or manure is a loss of 1 sand or dirt block.
  6. No point in using anything but tin cable for going from renewable generators (solar, wind, water) to your first energy storage. Solar and water will never give more than 1 or 2 EU/t, and wind generators conveniently break themselves if their generation ever goes above 5EU/t (can only be reached in a thunderstorm if the windmill is above height 80).
  7. Thanks to a plugin tossing up errors every time a block was broken, I noticed my cobble generator (made from redpower breakers) kept working fine even with no one on the server. Other stuff around the generator worked find too. Maybe try that?
  8. Quick question, has anyone tried getting an IC2 pump to pull milk from a tank into buckets? I had a setup, before 2.0, that used an automatic crafting table to make bog earth. I just stuck an IC2 pump next to the input chest so the bucket inside would get filled as fast as the pump could go.
  9. If they can suicide to get out, then it's not preventing them from playing the game. They are.
  10. That's why I said perceived payoff. How exactly is it your fault that someone refused to suicide in your trap and instead waited two hours for help to arrive? Freedom of choice. They could leave now at the cost of their items and experience, or they can spend their time waiting for help and possibly save their items by gambling against the clock. Frankly, any server that would punish you because your trap wasn't lethal enough, is not a server I would want to be on.
  11. Bah, 5 blocks of uninsulated HV cable isn't much bleed off. If they stay in your dungeon for long periods of time while a suicide option is available, then it's their decision. No different than someone who sits in a hole for days while a cheap power generator fills an MFSU, they've made the decision that their time is worth spending idle to get a perceived payoff (in this case, freedom with all their stuff intact).
  12. So what about using redpower deployers to create a self healing cage out of obsidian or rubberwood? No escape without teleporting, and you could slowly torture them with HV current.
  13. 2 tall, 2 wide, 1 long hole. Bottom layer pistons at each end to push the victim back and forth. 2nd layer (upper body) CF sprayer in a redpower deployer, set to go off when the trap is triggered. Knock em back and forth through wet construction foam.
  14. I wonder who's idea it was to make the default wand for worldedit one of the first useful tools people craft? Why not something like spider eye? Something that doesn't have a legitimate left click use. Go into the plugins folder for your server and edit the worldedit config. I don't have it infront of me, but look for the entry near the bottom that says 271 and change it to something else (like 375).
  15. 4 pumps, 16 redstone engines, 16 strainers, some tin cable, some gold waterproof pipe, and an infinite water source = perfectly reliable 32EU/t You can fit it in a 7x7x7 space too.
  16. Typical speciest attitude. You probably also think all dogs have done time in the pound, their favorite foods are bones and kibble, and they'll do anything for a doggy treat. Scooby Doo set canine rights back 50 years...

Just tested. Automated golem factories are a Go!

Hrm, do the iron golems complete properly if the head is placed by a redpower deployer?
  19. For my reactor, right... That's exactly what I use uranium ore for, and totally not for an underground, village wide wireless destruct system to be used the moment they disappoint me...
  20. The Little Things thread has some research done on the energy crossover blocks. http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,205.0.html Basically, the engine generators (BC MJ -> IC2 EU) do not play nice with buildcraft pipes and will show massive losses. It's best to connect mechanical engines directly to the generator. The energy link (IC2 EU -> BC MJ) will work fine, but it has very little to regulate it's output and can quickly drain all your power. As gorgenzola mentioned, the tin engines from forestry are the best way to turn IC2 energy into BC energy. Any of the forestry farming setups can run nicely off a single tin engine, and the filler and quarry will both run anywhere from decently to Bat-Outta-Hell depending on how many you connect to them (1-4). You also have the options to make oil and lava with IC2 EU via the fabricators. Infact you can get a really good ROI by combining an Oil Fabricator, a Refinery, and some Combustion Engines.
  21. Re: Bugs found in Tekkit 2.0 Just to note on these two. The machinery noises have been like this since atleast last version. If you adjust your volume while near a running machine, it'll fix the sounds until the machine unloads from your client (go very far away or log out). There is also an option in the IC2.cfg file to turn off sounds. Yes, rubber trees are rare, except when they aren't. Like your snow biome one, that's just part of worldgen. There is no code in place to guarantee you easy access to specific resources or biomes.
  22. Create a custom crafting recipe to give a double slab for two single slabs.
  23. The truth miniboxer, is both. The whole technic team is actually one person, a dissociative identity disorder sufferer named Robert Kaker. Kakermix is the dominant personality and a combination of his last name and the fact he's a mix of personalities. Cheapshot is his creative side, formed after years of ridicule leveled on him by his hippy-beatnik parents for being a "square downer computer geeknerd with, like, no art soul man". Agelian is the repressed technical side, constantly searching for recognition for his work while still hiding from the spotlight. Pray you never meet Kakormega, his Guardian personality.
  24. You need a stronger engine than a redstone one. An electric engine (the tin one from forestry) can easily run a wheat farm and harvester pair. Peat fired engines can too, and a single peat bog setup can run a good number of engines.
  25. Meh, smell-o-vision will never take off entirely because there is no porn application for it. Every major entertainment advancement that can't be attributed to the military sector (and some that can be) has gotten major backing from the porn industry. VCRs, DVDs, streaming media, portable video, digital cameras, analog and digital camcorders, smartphones, ect... All were developed to help satisfy someone's fetish easier. Knowing that, the physical touch suit will probably be the next advancement from that list to see retail.
