progrendon Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 hi i'm trying to run power down a glass fibre cable, (about 14 blocks) and am trying to hide the cables unfortunately these are solar panels coming down from the roof, so i can not simply dig a trench. Is there any way of hiding it that will only take up one block including the cable like you can pneumatic tubes and covers. p.s. do you no any good red power sorting systems tutorials as all the ones iv'e seen conflict with each other??
Adlersch Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Not that I know of, but you can potentially give the illusion of hidden cables with minimal space taken up, using microblocks to disguise them. 'd Hushful
racingpro Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Use CF on the cabling. RP panels will work, but won't be in the same block as the cable.
progrendon Posted October 22, 2012 Author Posted October 22, 2012 ive tryd micro blocks but i can't get them in the same block they always stick out one and get in the way and space is rather short. I'm trying to make things look good (the first time i've tried) and i find the cabbles are rather annoying and ugly. what's cf?
Industrial Miner Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Construction Foam. Look at the CF sprayer in NEI. I was going to suggest to use LV transformers, as those are full blocks anyway.
progrendon Posted October 22, 2012 Author Posted October 22, 2012 cf ok i've not noticed that ill look it up on the wiki. but yea its a marble building and as this might happen in several places i think making that amount of lv transformers might be a bit expensive. ok that is a useful tool and i'm presuming to color it you simply use a paintbrush the same as hv cables.
Hushful Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 You can't paint the transformers that I know of, and the glass fiber cables, only the center square gets colored.
Industrial Miner Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 You use the painters to color insulated and glassfibre cables.
miniboxer Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 You use the painters to color insulated and glassfibre cables. and cf 'd
progrendon Posted October 22, 2012 Author Posted October 22, 2012 thanks i was just posting to ask that question, are you telepathic?
Industrial Miner Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 and cf 'd Damn you ninja. Well, since we had it about cf and painting, it just came up in his/her/it's mind.
progrendon Posted October 22, 2012 Author Posted October 22, 2012 yes well whilst we're on aesthetics can anyone show me some print screens or guide me to a place that can show me some cool house designs, as i'm ok on the practical but not ugly factory stuff and mage towers, (im proud of them) i'm not to good at the homes,as they tend to end up empty and its rather embarrassing when i have friends round especially female ones as i often get lectures on good housing.
LazDude2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I carve my houses out of volcanoes, Bond-villain-style. Start with a spiral staircase. (mine are 2-wide, and use half slabs, so one doesn't lose their sprint running on them) Then, at corners, dig a 2 wide and 2 deep tunnel, and dig your rooms. Most of them will break through the outside of the volcano, so finish up where the walls would have been with glass. Then, at the top, build a balcony, (I use a pattern with basalt cobble and normal cobble) glass panes all around, and a glass roof. I'll get you some screenies at some point.
progrendon Posted October 23, 2012 Author Posted October 23, 2012 that would be much appreciated, and as i'm near a very big ocean biome with a just as big volcano in the middle... it will be very bond villain

I do my houses the same exact way. Even the 2-wide spiral staircase. lol
BurningCake Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 · Hidden Hidden -snip- It's the two-wide forum's fault.
Jorcer Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Dude. I do my houses the same exact way. Even the 2-wide spiral staircase. lol I tend to build underground complexes with long hallways and branching rooms.
BurningCake Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 · Hidden Hidden That two wide double post was a result of a two wide forum error! I have no blame!
Hushful Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I make factories that could lag Bill Gates PC.
GreenWolf13 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I make factories that could lag Bill Gates PC. Well duh, his PC runs windows, of course it's gonna lag.
progrendon Posted October 23, 2012 Author Posted October 23, 2012 well i'm all for windows but you can't beat a mac for a bit of video editing
Jorcer Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Well duh, his PC runs windows, of course it's gonna lag. Zing! The point is not to make a factory that lags it is to make one that does not. (That was mostly there to avoid low effort posts)
Hushful Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Yea, yea, I know, and can do that too. It takes a fine mixture of the mods to accomplish great things like that in Technic / Tekkit.
GreenWolf13 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 I feel like my memory has been tampered with. I could have sworn yo made a post about something, and I replied to it, but it's gone now. Maybe torezu has something to do with it?
