Recommended Posts

Here is a short guide to convert a 1.2.5 Tekkit(Tekkit 3.1.2) world to the new 1.4.6 Tekkit lite !

PLEASE NOTE ! USE IT ON YOUR OWN RISK! It is not finished yet. Some blocks and Items could disappear. It only makes the world playable for 1.4.6

Lets start !

1. The first thing you need is a backup of your 1.2.5 World file (IMPORTANT !) For the case that my methode doesn´t work!

2. download mIdas gold. Klick here

3.start mIdas and select your tekkit savegame.

4. Now you need the following Patch.txt

Patch.txt

5. Load Patch.txt and then start the translation by clicking "Start"

6.Have fun !

Ps: I tested it with my own world and it worked really fine !

Please leave a comment if it works for you.

UPDATE: 6.1 (1) = I found two ID mistakes to convert your world use the new patch.txt.

UPDATE: 6.1 (2) = now linked to the downoad list and not to version 2.3 (mIdas) (thanks Havocx42)

UPDATE: 6.1 (3) = ID bugs fixed

UPDATE: 7.1. (1) = new IDs added (thanks Alfwynn)

I gave it a test on my server some railcraft item's didn't transfer over, iron posts and concrete posts and coke ovens and blast furnaces (not a big deal). Also all my buildcraft pipes became invisible and unusable which is a much bigger problem. any thoughts or fixes on the pipe problem?

It which sequence, should I use midas on my savegame?

Should i use midas on the savegame, while it is still under tekkit classic and then copy the files over to the tekkit lite server?

Or in which sequences should I do the update?

I have tried a number of times now :-P

The best result was that part of the current map worked fine - but more than half of my castle got lost in new landscape :-P

I copied the save game folder to my desktop and updated it from there, however if you have redstone engines in your games you need to take out the "161 -> 1" line out of the patch file. Also as I said above the black hole chest if you have one is "194:2 -> 4092:2", and that needs to be added. After you update the saved worlds then copy them into your tekkitlite\saves folder.

Hello!

This is my first post on these forums which I've been lurking for a while now, but I'm heavily medicated due this..plague thing/flu that I have, so bare with me. I've only ever played tekkit on single player, with the intent to join a server at a later date. I've found that from what I've heard of most servers it would probably be better to stay playing by myself, and because of that have found myself attached to my very small and humble little tekkit volcano home.

Now, I've downloaded midas, selected my world from tekkit classic, and loaded the patch that you linked. When I load the patch.txt file it tells me that, "Source ID (insert numbers) is already being translated." I must then click ok to continue, a large portion of clicks later it ends, and I click start. When I click Start however it simply says, "An error has occured and a log has been created." I have no idea what I would be doing wrong in these few simple steps, and I'm unsure of where the created log went to find out. Any help at all is appreciated. Thanks for your time.

I'm really happy to see the ability to convert damage values being useful. Since it's a new feature could anyone experiencing problems let me know?

Yes there is a problem:

It is not possible to convert the following:

213 -> 453

213:1 -> 453:1

213:2 -> 453:2

beause after I add 213 -> 453 i cannot add 213:1 -> 453:1 anymore.

I get the follwing message: Sorce ID 213:1 is already translated

thanx, i used this method, some systems seem to be reversed after the conversion.

i ahd shutters infront of the windows with pistions, and a lever turned them on, now the lever turns them off

the methode is not finished yet!

there are some minor and mayor bugs and it will take time to fix all IDs

I don't see what I could be doing wrong, I'm still getting the, "An error has occurred and a log has been created." It does that right after I click Start. Is there any place I can look to see the logs? It says that when I try patch1.txt, and after reloading midas, also after trying patch2.txt

Yes, that is as intended. if you do not specify a damage value (as in your first line) it only matches on block ID and ignores the damage value.

for your example you would only need to do

213 -> 453

and it would change all blocks with an ID of 213 to an ID of 453, ignoring damage value.

If you want to specify specific translations for only some damage values you will need to enter all 16 damage values 0-15 e.g.

213:0 -> 453:0

213:1 -> 453:2

213:2 -> 453:1

213:3 -> 453:3

213:4 -> 453:4

213:5 -> 453:5

213:6 -> 453:6

etc.

I think you may have missed the fact that you can do 213:0->453:0

Yes the log is generated wherever the file was run from, starts with "errorlog". Could you send it to me please.

Hmm, as far as I can tell there are no errorlogs either where I've run midas from or where my save game file is. I've even gone so far as to perform a search of my computer for anything labeled errorlog and nothing came up. I tried re downloading midas and I get the same thing, is there a reason why it would say this error before even beginning to change the ID's? It doesn't even appear to start, it just says that as soon as I click Start.
