You can turn off the block breaking "feature" of the larger dinos. Check the config.

Dropbox Modpack not working! please help!
plowmanplow replied to rjstonge's topic in Platform Pagoda
You need to add "?dl=1" to the end, like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/n5mxk2ehxwk1o7h/Modpack.rar?dl=1 -
Don't rename the mod files you download from the authors to remove the version numbers. It makes it nearly impossible to manage a pack. Go back and re-download every single mod that you renamed to get the correct version numbers in the file names. Baubles mod (after you get the correct/latest version with the file name intact) goes in mods1.7.2 not mods. Metallurgy mod requires Metallurgy Core mod, which you are missing. Make sure you follow the author's instructions when installing a mod: http://www.curse.com/mc-mods/minecraft/metallurgy-core You have TreeCapitator installed but are missing the bspkrsCore mod it requires. You have Immibis Microblocks installed but are missing the Immibis Core mod it requires. There is no version of Immibis Microblocks which works with AppliedEnergistics 2. You'll have to remove one or the other. Optifine works with almost no mods in 1.7.2. Remove it. You have mismatched or corrupted versons of Mantle and/or Tinker's Construct. Unfortunately for you, mDiyo has pulled the 1.7.2 version so if you want it you'll need to find it somewhere. Good luck with that.

Someone has changed the startup batch file. Your max memory "-Xmx2048G" is requesting 2048 Gigabytes of RAM. Obviously that is crazy. It should either be "2048M" or "2G".
-
Cauldron is a replacement for the Forge universal JAR file and belongs in the top level of your server folder. You change whatever startup script/batch you use to point at the Cauldron JAR instead of the Forge JAR.
-
That message means you have a mod for 1.7.2 in your pack. Check your ForgeModLoader client log, towards the end, and you should have enough info to identify the offending mod. Edit: The mod in question is iChunUtil. Make sure you go back and re-download all of iChun's mods for 1.6.4.

Cauldron downloads for 1.6.4 and 1.7.2 (and soon to be 1.7.10) are now here: http://files.minecraftforge.net/Cauldron/ -
Increment your version number in the pack settings. Update the file referenced by the modpack URL or switch to a different/updated URL.

Unless you are seriously advertising things somewhere, nobody is going to know or care. Nobody with any sense about them cares about mods being used in a modpack anyway, but that is a whole other kettle of fish. Just use dropbox or copy.com and you'll be fine.

Block ID conflicts will crash the game and sometimes give you a report in IDConflicts.txt. Item ID conflicts will just report themselves into the FML client log. This is not a glitch, it's just how things work. Look in your FML client word for the word CONFLICT. The required action should be obvious.

MCPC+ version git-MCPC-Plus-jenkins-MCPC-Plus-164-230 Any build before #251 is going to crash out on you. Not only that, but even #251 is ancient at this point. You need to be looking here: http://files.minecraftforge.net/Cauldron/

Don't bump. It never, ever helps. If someone is in a position to help, they will. If not, bumping is only annoying. As for the help, I responded in one of the other three threads (and a private message to boot). This is precisely why y'all shouldn't post multiple threads about the same pack/issues.
-
You will probably want to use Cauldron (formerly known as MCPC+) even if you don't plan on using Bukkit plugins. It adds Spigot as well as a number of other optimizations that will reduce your overall resource usage. You haven't provided enough details to give a recommendation. How many mods? How big are the mods? How much custom worldgen is involved? What's your view distance? Will you be running Dynmap? and so on, and so forth...

Crash While Testing Mods On Forge Please Help
plowmanplow replied to Soft_Squishy's topic in Platform Pagoda
Next time just post the link here. Nobody cares if your pack is private or not. "permissions" to use things mean diddly squat when you are just trying to get your pack working. Sending me a private message with the pack link just makes it harder for me to keep track of what is going on. You now have 3 separate threads and a private message I would need to sift through in order to try to help. That's 3 places too many. I'm catching a ride home with someone at the moment but will take a look at the pack when I get there. Had a second and went looking. You had already posted the API URL in another thread. <sigh> I'll put it here so I don't lose track of things (since it's already up anyway): http://www.technicpack.net/api/modpack/the-magical-factory edit: <sigh> And I'm in the wrong thread. Oh well. Here we go: Your modpack is hosted with a provider which won't work with the Platform. Use dropbox or copy.com. Don't distribute the VoxelMods folder in your mods folder. You will overwrite everyone's local configs and waypoints when the pack gets updated. Your BetterDungeons mod is installed incorrectly. Open the zip file and follow the instructions. You have the Mekanism development kit in the mods folder. Remove that. The recipes for MMMPS go in configmachinemuserecipes not mods. You have item ID conflicts between at least half a dozen mods. Check your local ForgeModLoader client log for the word "CONFLICT" (without quotes). These MUST be resolved for proper client/server operation. Mods which needed to be disabled/removed to start the server (client only mods): Damage Indicators Animated Player AutoSwitch BetterSigns BloodParticles Dynamic Lights MCCapes Extra MobAura NEIPlugins Optifine ScenterMod Shatter Zan's Minimap -
Looking for someone to create a modpack
plowmanplow replied to dinoman282's topic in Platform Pagoda
Your modpack: https://copy.com/nvqKrKIy2lBt I highly recommend hosting that file somewhere on your own as I can't guarantee it won't get deleted sometime in the near future. -
It appears as if you have extracted Helicopter Mod into a subfolder in your mods folder. Don't do that. Leave the mod as the ZIP or JAR archive from the author. You have item ID conflicts between: Advanced Genetics & ArsMagica2, EnergyManipulator & ICBM, Extra Cells & Helicopter Mod, Project Red & eMasher, Redstone In Motion & Mekanism, Advanced Genetics & Statues It is vitally important to be inspecting your ForgeModLoader client log for item ID conflicts and that any conflicts which can be resolved are addressed appropriately. You have a very large numer of item ID conflicts between quite a few mods. These are likely the source of your troubles, but it is impossible to diagnose any further until they are resolved.

Please don't start another thread for this, it is highly distracting. Please post a link in your original thread for your Technic pack page and/or API URL and I will respond there.

Custom Modpack Crashes when I load into single/multiplayer
plowmanplow replied to Blackton's topic in Platform Pagoda
The contents of your modpack archive are in a subfolder. All of the required folders (bin, config, mods, etc.) must be in the top level of the folder structure inside your archive. You have included way too much stuff in your modpack archive. Your archive should contain ONLY bin, config, mods folders and the bin folder should ONLY contain modpack.jar. Remove all other folders and files. Your modpack is more than twice the size it should be because of this. Your mods folder contains a libraries subfolder. This should be removed. You have item ID conflicts between: Mellurgy & BetterStorage, Simply Jetpacks & BigReactors, Carpenter's Blocks & FoodPlus, Metallurgy & FoodPlus. Failure to fix these conflicts will result in some or all of the content of those mods being unusable. -
@dj_leo99: No, you do not. You simply upload a file, share it and copy the URL provided. Add "?dl=1" (without quotes) to the end of the URL and you have a publicly accessible URL which can be used in the Platform.
-
It looks like you have extracted some of the mods into folders inside your mods folder. Don't do that. Leave them as the ZIP or JAR archives you downloaded them as. Many of your mods have "odd" names which indicates you did not get them from the author's preferred distribution channels. Never do that. Always get the mods directly from the mod author's preferred distribution channels. (immibis microblocks, PowerCrystals core, Waila, etc.) You have included Buildcraft for Forge/MC 1.7.2. The last version of Buildcraft for 1.6.4 was 4.2.2. You have included an incompatible version of IC2. If you intend on including IC2 in your pack for 1.6.4 I highly recommend looking at this post: You have included OpenBlocks but not the required library OpenModsLib. You have included no config files. The config folder in your modpack archive should contain a full compliment of config files for your mods. These are generated the first time the mods get loaded into Forge. Once you have tested the pack locally and everything is working correctly you should have a complete set of configs. Include this folder and its contents in your modpack archive. Fix these problems and come back if/when you have more difficulties.

Yes, Dropbox or copy.com are the preferred file services.

When my modpack is unzipping, it takes a dang long time.
plowmanplow replied to Kevin42's topic in Platform Pagoda
When dealing with Millenaire in the past I believe I was able to zip it up and it still worked. Been a while so the memory is fuzzy. -

plowmanplow replied to Kevin42's topic in Platform Pagoda
Well, it really shouldn't take 30 minutes. Took less than 2 for me, but I'm using a decent SSD. The problem comes from the steaming mess that is millenaire. That dude refuses to package his mod as a noramal ZIP or JAR file and thus the extraction lib has to pull out nearly 3000 tiny little files for the mod in the mods folder. This takes a while. -

You have client only mods in your server mods folder.
