Is it safe to assume you've reinstalled the launcher after experiencing these issues? It can be something as simple as a slightly corrupted launcher update.

You have to install it as well. Just downloading it doesn't do you any good. If you installed it, reboot your computer before attempting to run the launcher again.

If it's telling you there isn't enough memory to reserve 3GB for the server, and the computer itself has 12GB, whether or not you have 64-bit Java, the server is using 32-bit Java. Double-check your Java installation(s), since it's quite possible to have (and use) both. A quick way of doing this is to check your launcher settings to see if it will let you assign 2GB or more to the launcher.

The errors you're receiving are very symptomatic of an antivirus or firewall that's still disabling the downloads. It can be a hardware firewall as well, depending on where you're trying to run the downloads from (college campuses are notorious for this). Double-check for other running software that might be blocking you.

Ask a few other members of the forums how they got off to a rocky start, and ended up participating much better over time. No, I won't delete all your posts. As a matter of fact, I suggest you keep making them, but do two things while posting here: 1) Think before, during, and after posting. 2) Proof your posts. Act as if you were writing an essay or taking a test. Do that here, and do it everywhere, and you will quickly discover that people respond to you differently. Some responses may not be positive, but on average they will be.

I noticed you edited your posts. That was a good idea. I'm not going to post the response I had all typed out, but will instead simplify it quite a bit. - SSP stands for Survival Single Player. - You don't need to learn Java to fix problems with mod packs. - If a mod creator didn't complete their mod, don't put it in your pack, or expect problems and learn how to work around them. - There's a section of the forums dedicated to custom packs (Platform Pagoda). May I suggest posting there with a bunch of information and even attempts if you want help making a pack? You are correct that your first mod pack should not be expected to be a raging success. Some people have gifts with such things, but that is a rare talent, and most of us have to work to get good at something like this.

PMP is right in this case: deleting a region file to catch a single corrupted block or even chunk is overkill, and will piss off your players if anyone had a base in the area. Then you would have to go back and correct things after your correction. 4 That very statement is the reason backing up your server is considered so basic to server management that 6 it shouldn't need to be mentioned. It's a given. Back to 5 MCEdit is used when the server isn't running. Meaning you've backed the entire world up before you even open the program. 7 My attitude has not been questioned here, at least not very often. The Tekkit server is version- or architecture-independent of Java. The 64-bit version of Java 7 (now u75) is located here. You really need 64-bit Java to run a server well, and possibly even to run one at all.

You have 16 posts, poor grammar, and offer "suggestions" that are potentially destructive and not particularly helpful. I don't see where you are coming from calling someone a troll when that person has 200 times your post count (while post count doesn't mean as much around here, the number is informative) and has never to my knowledge been anything but helpful.

This is not an issue of legality. This is not a problem with your modpack specifically. All we can tell is that it's gone. So again, take it up with a site admin on the IRC channel if you want an answer, or re-create the modpack, since it's gone.

While it's possible for the Platform page of a particular pack to be deleted, that can really only be done by an admin, as far as I know. Perhaps you should try the IRC channel instead of posting in the Forums, where the admins don't go as frequently.

You are skirting the line of backseat modding really close. You should point out what people are supposed to do rather than ordering them to do it.

The Dimensional Tear Generator doesn't now, and has never, worked, as far as I know. I was disappointed when I found that out.

That particular font has a history of being abused, to the point that there are advice columns written on why not to use it.

Protest away. Most, if not all, of the moderators here have no idea why it's gone, and since your Platform user name isn't the same as your Forums user name, we can't even look into it.

That crash log is from 7+ months ago. Are you sure you're posting the right one?
