If anyone gives a damn about "SSP balance", whether between mods or the functionality of the item, then don't use it. If he or she is still super-tempted to use an item/block that is "imbalanced", then all that says is that he is weak willed. If he demands change, my tiny violin plays the saddest song for him. He can grow up, get over it, and make the mod himself. No one should tell you what your SSP experience should be. Likewise, no one should cater to your SSP experience to make it just the way you want it. The gameplay of Minecraft is a Sandbox. The Game of Minecraft is also a Sandbox. The difference being, you can build a giant gold weiner in the game of Minecraft because it is a Sandbox game; you can also add in the Sparklefarts Mod to your Game of Minecraft because the Game itself is a Sandbox. In both sandboxes, I don't tell others what to do. No, seriously, "Mineception" is a stupid phrase and shouldn't be used here.

When you say "super groovy" I think of something out of an LSD trip. Then when you say "slightly futuristic" I think of something clean and shiny. I have no idea what your plan is, but I agree with jakj: make a style and stick to it. If it's dystopic-future machines-falling-apart post-apocalyptic feel, don't make the grass and leaves super bright green, probably want to stick to muted colors, etc. If it is Barney-the-purple-dinosaur themed, don't make Creepers into giant exploding post-apocalyptic malfunctioning robots. Make it Groucho from Sesame Street or whatever that trash can dude's name was. ...aaand while I was typing this you replied to jakj. Yes, you are probably thinking of Minority Report. I personally love dark dystopian cities (especially if set in a post-apocalyptic world), so I like the movie.

Naw it started out cool but then OP had a mental breakdown randomly it seems. Oh well, he sure did "pwn" us!

If anyone else in the future replies below this line that isn't an admin/moderator and digs this thread back up, know that I will automatically probate you, personally. There is no ETA. Read the rules. The Line: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This thread has everything you need to know.

Half the money going into an Alienware computer is spent on the computer, the other 50% goes to defending the purchaser's ego from rational people saying "Dude, I bought the same thing for half the price".

Let's get this thread back on track. If people want to keep discussing the ethos of modding or the bigger issue of distribution of intellectual property, then please do it elsewhere*. Otherwise, this is about this guy's modpack! *and even then I suggest you do not do it on our forums. Because opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one. And we have enough assholes over here. Looks at himself.

Admin needs to clear out his mouth with soap
SimpleGuy replied to WebsiteISDonkeyPoo's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Who dropped the bar of soap onto the shower floor! Now I gotta.... wait a minute, I see what you're trying to do here. Thank god I don't own a video camera/webcam. -
It's not a "glitch", it has to do with implementing algorithms and using logic, and not using your brain at the same time: if (a && { Point 1 //boolean statement 'a' is guaranteed TRUE here! if(a) { Point 2 } Point 3 }
can be rewritten as
if (a && { Point 1 Point 2 Point 3 }
So there's never a reason to do this. This is assuming you don't change boolean a within the first conditional, of course (where Point 1 would be)

Mod request for the Technic Pack/tekkit
SimpleGuy replied to Beaurocks16's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,1334.0.html There you go. In the future you're going to need to be self-sufficient and find things on your own around here to last long. Secondly, just because there are "no crafting recipes" doesn't mean it's automatically compatible with everything. Thirdly, pretty sure I've never heard of this mod before, nor have any of the other 23k registered users. Locking before people know what it is! -
Mod request for the Technic Pack/tekkit
SimpleGuy replied to Beaurocks16's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Congrats, within 5 minutes of registering you missed the suggestion thread! -
I encourage you to read our Rules section. Asking ETA's is a no-no. Partly because we don't give them out, but mostly because we have no realistic idea (since no one works regular hours, as this is all volunteer based). Up to you. Always can start a Tekkit v2 just to get the hang of trying to get plugins to work with each other and practice and with the understanding of your users it's more of a playground for you to mess around server-side than it is a serious server for them.
-
I'm locking this, as it has served its purpose. Tekkit 3.0 has no server component yet due to Bukkit porting.
-
First off, You're talking about Tekkit (SMP) but you posted in Technic (SSP). Newbie mistake. Secondly, There is no Tekkit 3.0 talk yet because it's not even in a state that can be talked about, really. It's like talking about Halo 7, Windows 9, Guild Wars 3, Playstation 5, etc. So, be patient and things will pop up.
